Analysis of Students' Understanding of the Terms Presented on the Information Board of Jinan-Muju National Geopark (진안-무주 국가지질공원의 안내 표지판에 제시된 용어에 대한 학생들의 이해도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate students' understanding of the terms presented on the information board in the Jinan-Muju National Geopark. To this end, a survey was conducted with 219 students (147 elementary, 41 middle, and 31 high school students) to determine the level of their perceptions of the geopark, and of the usefulness of the information board, and their understanding of the terms presented on the information boards of the National Geopark. To determine the students' understanding of terms, 10 representative information boards were selected and the entire content was converted into text. Afterwards, 256 key terms were extracted from the text through discussions with three experts, and these terms were presented to students to grasp their level of understanding. The results were as follows: First, the level of students' perceptions about the geopark was very low, so publicity and educational approaches are needed. Second, students were not interested in the information board and had a low level of understanding owing to the large amount of information and reading difficulties. Third, among the 256 terms, the number of terms that students found difficult to understand tended to decrease with increasing school grade: 80 for elementary school students, 53 for middle school students, and 31 for high school students. The reason the students had difficulty in understanding terms was that elementary school students had not yet learned the terms in the curriculum, whereas middle and high school students have difficulty understanding technical terms and Chinese characters. Therefore, the information board in the geopark will need to be easily translated into Chinese characters or additional explanations of technical terms need to be provided so that visitors can understand the concepts more easily.

A latent profile analysis of job performance types based on task performance, contextual performance and counterproductive work behavior (과업수행, 맥락수행, 반생산적 업무행동 기반의 직무수행 유형 분석: 잠재프로파일분석을 중심으로)

  • Since Campbell (1990) proposed multidimensionality of job performance, unlike the single structure of traditional job performance, it has been largely classified as task performance, contextual performance, and counterproductive work behavior. The objective of this study is to validate the threecriteria currently considered major aspects of job performance, to identify different types of performance based on three dimensions, and to compare the power of personality factors among performance types. A total of 681 employees working at various organizations participated in an on-line survey. The survey included boththe exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. A 3-factor job performance model consisting of three dimensions was also included. The relationships between performance dimensions and personality factors differedby dimensions of performance, supporting the validity of the 3-factor structure of performance.The results of the Latent Profile Analysis identified four types of performance: exemplary, moderately conscientious moderate, and conscientious, butlow.. The Multinomial logistic regression analysis showed each type differed significantly according to the predictors of personality variables. In conclusion, implications and limitations of the study were noted.

  • 경상북도 지역에서 낙동강에 위치한 안동의 하회마을, 내성천에 위치한 예천의 회룡포와 영주의 무섬마을 등은 마을 앞에 위치한 깨끗한 백사장으로 널리 알려진 관광명소이다. 하회마을의 점사주의 경우 낙동강 상류에 안동 및 임하 다목적댐이 건설되면서, 수량이 조절됨에 따라 토사수리학적 특성이 상당히 변화되었으며, 식생이 발생하는 등 옛 모습을 상실해 가고 있는 지역이다. 이 연구는 낙동강의 중상류 구간인 안동조정지댐 직하류부터 하회마을 직하류에 위치한 광덕교 지점까지의 하도구간에 일차원 하상변동 수치모형인 HEC6 모형을 적용하여 하회마을 앞의 점사주에 영향을 미치는 토사수리학적 특성 변화를 규명할 목적으로 수행하였다. 수치모형 적용구간의 하상변동을 예측하기 위해 적절한 일차원 준정상 상태 하상변동모형으로 HEC-6 모형을 선정하였으며, 모형적용을 위한 현황분석으로 하상토 특성 자료를 수집 분석하였다. 지형자료에 대한 분석 결과, 다목적댐 건설 이후 하회구간의 하천 지형 변화의 특징으로 저수로 쪽의 하상저하가 두드러지게 나타남을 발견할 수 있었다. 모형의 적용영역 내에 위치한 각 수위표 지점의 수리 수문자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. HEC-6 모형의 보정은 고정상 및 이동상 수리모형 실험결과를 사용하여, 고정상 보정과 이동상 보정으로 구분하여 수행하였다. 이동상 보정 결과 Ackers and White 공식이 다른 공식에 비하여 전반적으로 우수한 결과를 제공함을 알 수 있었다. 하천망 유사이동 수치모형인 HEC-6 모형을 사용하여 장기 하상변동을 예측하였으며, 댐 건설이 하류 하천의 지형변화에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.ppm)인 시료에 적합한 여과법을 이용하여 분석하였으며, 유사 입경분포 분석방법으로는 BW관 방법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 현재까지 국내 외적으로 하천 유사량 산정과 관련된 많은 경험식들이 제시되고 있다. 하지만, 외국의 충적하천에 기초하여 개발되어진 유사량 공식들을 우리나라 하천에 무분별하게 적용하는 것은 위험스러우며, 유사량 산정 결과의 신뢰성을 높이기 위해서는 무엇보다 우리나라 하천의 지형, 수리, 수문학적 요소들이 유사 특성에 미치는 영향을 알아야 한다. 그러므로, 본 연구에서는 실측을 통한 유사량 값을 하천의 지형, 수리, 수문학적 요소들과 비교 분석하여우리나라 하천에 맞는 유사특성을 알아보고, 기타 총유사량산정 공식을 이용하여 실측한 유사량과 비교 분석하고자 한다.호강유역의 급격한 수질개선을 알 수 있다.世宗實錄) $\ulcorner$지리지$\lrcorner$(地理志)와 동년대에 동일한 목적으로 찬술되었음을 알 수 있다. $\ulcorner$경상도실록지리지$\lrcorner$(慶尙道實錄地理志)에는 $\ulcorner$세종실록$\lrcorner$(世宗實錄) $\ulcorner$지리지$\lrcorner$(地理志)와의 비교를 해보면 상 중 하품의 통합 9개소가 삭제되어 있고, $\ulcorner$동국여지승람$\lrcorner$(東國與地勝覽) 에서는 자기소와 도기소의 위치가 완전히 삭제되어 있다. 이러한 현상은 첫째, 15세기 중

A Study on Obtaining Waters to Restore the Water-ecosystem of Deokjin Pond in Jeonju: New Paradigm for Restoration of Urban Reservoirs (전주시 덕진연못의 수생태 복원을 위한 용수확보방안 연구: 도시 저수지 복원의 새로운 패러다임)

  • The Deokjin Pond is one of the places representing Jeonju City's history but has the poor water quality. The pond has a storage of $88,741m^3$ and a drainage area of $3.77km^2$. It has been maintained only by the groundwater pumped from the upstream wells and the direct rainfalls on the water surface since the old streams replenishing the pond were turned into a part of the sewer system due to indiscreet urbanization. The lack of replenishing water as well as the organic-rich bottom sediment were suggested as two main causes deteriorating the water-ecosystem. In this study, possible measures obtaining waters for restoration of Deokjin Pond ecosystem are discussed. It is estimated that the present pond can be replenished about 32 times a year by the runoff when the drainage system in the watershed is recovered to a state before urbanization. To support this, the drainage system is compared with that of nearby Osong Pond, which shows relatively better water-ecosystem. Even though Osong Pond has a drainage area one-seventh of that of Deokjin Pond, its storage is more than the half of it. It is because its watershed has a near natural drainage system where the rain mostly infiltrates into soil and slowly discharges into the pond. Therefore, it is believed that the low impact development (LID), which is known as a technique restoring the water circulating system to a condition before development, would be helpful in obtaining waters required for Deokjin Pond ecosystem management.

  • Six strains of Phycomyces blakesleeanus (DEL, A56, C9, C47, C111, and G5) were cultured in continuous light condition for 6 days. The increase in fresh and dry weight after the culture period was similar in all strains. However, the increase in fresh weight was sustained throughout the culture period in all strains, whereas the increase in dry weight was prominent only during the first 3 days of culture. The development and phototropism of macrophores was observed after 3 days of culture, These results suggest that the development and phototropism is ascribed to the increase in turgor pressure in sporangiophores where water entered. A56 and G5 showed a higher sensitivity to light than C9 and C47, whereas C111 showed no photosensitivity. Antagonistic relations were observed between photosensitivity and development of microphores, suggesting that the development and phototropism of macrophores is regulated by a common recognition factor (photoreceptor).

Volcanological History of the Baengnokdam Summit Crater Area, Mt. Halla in Jeju Island, Korea (제주도 한라산 백록담 일대의 화산활동사)

  • The Baengnokdam, the summit crater of Mt. Halla, is one of the representative geosites of World Natural Heritage and Global Geopark in Jeju Island. The crater is marked by two distinctive volcanic lithofacies that comprise: 1) a trachytic lava dome to the west of the crater and 2) trachybasaltic lava flow units covering the gentle eastern slope of the mountain. This study focuses on understanding the formative process of this peculiar volcanic lithofacies association at the summit of Mt. Halla through field observation and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating of the sediments underlying the craterforming volcanics. The trachyte dome to the west of the crater is subdivided into 3 facies units that include: 1) the trachyte breccias originating from initial dome collapse, 2) the trachyte lava-flow unit and 3) the domal main body. On the other side, the trachybasalt is subdivided into 2 facies units that include: 1) the spatter and scoria deposit from the early explosive eruption and 2) lava-flow unit from the later effusion eruption. Quartz OSL dating on the sediments underlying the trachyte breccias and the trachybasaltic lava-flow unit reveals ages of ca. 37 ka and ca. 21 ka, respectively. The results point toward that the Baengnokdam summit crater was formed by eruption of trachybasaltic magma at about 19~21 ka after the trachyte dome formed later than 37 ka.

  • Recently, tourists and sightseers are increasingly showing their interests in the native local food cultures as their living standards improve. This is why the local autonomy bodies are vigorously trying to develop their local native foods as tourism commodities, which is a part of their efforts to bring a life to their local economies. This study explores the solutions to promote the native local foods of Jeonju area as a tourism item, eventually contributing to the progress of the local economy. The target population of this study was the owners of native local food restaurants in Jeonju area, and the survey was conducted from February 10th to 25th, 2008. For data analysis, frequency analysis was used. In order to achieve this goal, analysis on local restaurant managers for their business operation should be conducted. The results showed they had daily sales of under 100,000 won and did restaurant promotions through pamphlets, brochures and so forth. The development of food was carried out mostly by the restaurant owners and the restaurant management type was independent. To activate the food tourism in Jeonju area, it is necessary to develop a representative native local food restaurants of Jeonju area as a tourism attraction, excavating new food festivals and food tourism courses suited to different areas and developing various food ingredients and spice packages.

  • TravTek이란 Travel Technology의 합성어이며, 미래의 여행자들이 차를 사용하여 여행할 때, 보다 편리하고 쾌적한 여행이 될 수 있도록 차에 컴퓨터단말기를 부착하여 현재 주행하고 있는 도로 를 차안에서 화면을 통하여 볼 수 있고, 컴퓨터가 최단경로를 운전자에게 제시하고, 도로의 상황과 여 행정보(즉 호텔, 관공명소, 행사안내등)를 컴퓨터화면으로 나타내고, 그 정보를 컴퓨터음성으로 들려 주는 것등이 TravTek 시스템의 주된 요소들이다. 현재 미국 플로리다주의 올란도시에서 GM회사가 TravTek 시스템을 설치한 차 100대를 가지고 10개의 기관이 합작으로 평가연구중에 있으며, 이 논문에서 다루고자 하는 것은 그중에서 이차의 인간공학적 평가로 제한하고자 한다. 이러한 시스템을 설치한 차 를 타고 여행할 때, 여행자가 과연 얼마나 안락하게 여행할 수 있으며, 도로의 체증현상을 줄이고, 사 고를 예방하며, 차의 설계와 목적이 인간공학적으로 합당한 가를 알아보고자 하는 연구이다. 인간공학적 평가 인자들은 (1) 운전자의 수행도, (2) 사용자 선호도, (3) 사용자 인식, (4) 운행정보등이다. 그리고 컴퓨터음성을 사용하였을 때와 사용하지 않았을 때의 두가지 경우와 (1) 움직이는 컴퓨터 지도를 사용하 였을 때, (2) 단순화 한 도로안내를 사용하였을 때, (3) 컴퓨터 지도를 사용하지 않았을 경우(종이지도 사용)에 관해 위의 4가지 인간공학적 인자들을 평가하고자 한다. 이 연구는 아직도 진행중이라 발표하 고자 하는 논문역시 현재까지의 연구결과를 토대로 발표하는 것이므로 완전한 결론을 내릴 수는 없고, 진행과정의 내용과 토의사항과 잠정적인 결론을 제시하고자 한다.기서 사용된 아이콘에 대해서만 타당한 것으로 이것을 모든 아이콘에 대해 일반화시키기는 어려우나 이후에 행해질 Icon-based User Interface 분야의 많은 연구들의 기초가 될 것이다. 더불어 아이콘과 관련된 많은 요인들(문화적 영향, 아이콘 색깔, 크기, 아이콘의 위치등이 인식에 미치는 영향)에 대해서도 연구가 행해져야 할 것이다. 확인하고 각각의 기능을 분명히 했다.가 수월하게 하였고 메모리를 동적으로 관리할 수 있게 하였다. 또한 기존의 smpl에 디버깅용 함수 및 설비(facility) 제어용 함수를 추가하여 시뮬레이션 프로그램 작성을 용이하게 하였다. 예를 들면 who_server(), who_queue(), pop_Q(), push_Q(), pop_server(), push_server(), we(), wf(), printfct() 같은 함수들이다. 또한 동시에 발생되는 사건들의 순서를 조종하기 위해, 동시에 발생할 수 있는 각각의 사건에 우선순위를 두어 이 우선 순위에 의하여 사건 리스트(event list)에서 자동적으로 사건들의 순서가 결정되도록 확장하였으며, 설비 제어방식에 있어서도 FIFO, LIFO, 우선 순위 방식등을 선택할 수 있도록 확장하였다. Preservation and Utilitization of Uninhabited Islets in Busan Metropolitan City (부산광역시 해안 무인도서의 보전(保全)과 활용)

  • The geological survey of the Mokdo island is for the fist time conduted in Korea history. The island had erupted before $70{\sim}80$ million years as a strato-volcano. The original volcano had been dissected for long periods up to the skeletal stage through the planeze stage. If the island area is surveyed afterwrds in detail, the position of crater is available to be found, either. The coastal terrace is found at 50m level in Mokdo island which is correlated to its fourth plane. The microgeomorphological features as coastal terrace, cliff, sea cave, wave-cut bench, sea stacks, notch, and tafoni, etc. were described. The Mogdo island is located off Molundae at the extension of Nagdong Jeongmaeg(낙동정맥 洛東正脈) showing a "floating turtle". The name of Mogdo island is needed to change to the "Yoo-goo-do" which means the swimming turtle. The Mokdo island is as suitable tourist attraction for if has enough touism sesouccesein sea. The deuelopsment of coartal sightseeing anound lighthoure and uninhabited islands will hare an impontant effect upon construction of the oceanic capitol city of Busan Haabor. The master plan built up an arboretum on the island, a coastal oceanarium, a seaweeds garden under sea coast, and other oceanic culture-spaces is completed in the study.

Effects of various lights, solvents, and zinc protoporphyrin on the chemical behavior of MTT formazan (빛, 용매와 zinc protoporphyrin에 의한 MTT 포마잔의 화학적 동태 변화)

  • The MTT [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide] assay is commonly used for analyzing the cell viability. In this study, effects of various solvents, different lights, and zinc protoporphyrin (ZnPP) on the chemical behavior of MTT formazan were investigated. The color response of MTT formazan in NaOH was highly pronounced; the absorbance of MTT formazan in 0.1 N NaOH at 550 nm was >2-fold higher than that in water, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), methanol, and ethanol. MTT formazan in DMSO and NaOH (>0.1 N) was relatively stable under fluorescent and UV light at 365 nm; its rapid degradation was induced under UV light at 254 nm in all solvents. ZnPP degraded MTT formazan under light in a time- and concentration-dependent manner; MTT formazan in 0.1 N NaOH was the most sensitive to ZnPP, followed by DMSO. These results suggest that NaOH and DMSO might be suitable media for MTT formazan for monitoring photosensitizing properties.
