A Study of Mesh Automatic Generating Method for Cracked Body (균열을 포함한 계의 mesh 자동분할에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper new mesh generation method is proposed for crack propagation analysis based on the finite element method. The main tool of the method is the Delaunay Triangulation, Transfinete element mapping, and it allows the setting of the arbitrary crack-growth increment and the arbitrary crack direction. It has the form of a subroutine, and it is easily introduced as a subroutine for any mesh generation method which is based on the blocking method.

  • This paper propose a new triangular mesh approximation method using wavelet coefficients for large terrain data. Using spatio-freguency localization characteristics of wavelet coefficients, we determine the complexity of terrain data and approximate the data according to the complexity. This proposed algorithm is simple and requires low computational cost due to its top-down approach. Because of the similarity between the mesh approximation and data compression procedures based on wavelet transform, we combine the mesh approximation scheme with the Embedded Zerotree Wavelet (EZW) coding scheme for the effective management of large terrain data. Computer simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is very prospective for the 3-D visualization of terrain data.

  • We proposed 3D mesh watermarking algorithm using CEGI distribution. In the proposed algorithm, we divide a 3D mesh of VRML data into 6 patches using distance measure and embed the same watermark bits into the normal vector direction of meshes that mapped into the cells of each patch that have the large magnitude of complex weight of CEGI. The watermark can be extracted based on the known center point of each patch and order information of cell. In an attacked model by affine transformation, we accomplish the realignment process before the extraction of the watermark. Experiment results exhibited the proposed algorithm is robust by extracting watermark bit for geometrical and topological deformed models.

Numerical Simulation of Urban Flash Flood Experiments Using Adaptive Mesh Refinement and Cut Cell Method (적응적 메쉬세분화기법과 분할격자기법을 이용한 극한 도시홍수 실험 모의)

  • Two-dimensional shallow water model based on the cut cell and the adaptive mesh refinement techniques is presented in this paper. These two mesh generation methods are combined to facilitate modeling of complex geometries. By using dynamically adaptive mesh, the model can achieve high resolution efficiently at the interface where flow changes rapidly. The HLLC Reimann solver and the MUSCL method are employed to calculate advection fluxes with numerical stability and precision. The model was applied to simulate the extreme urban flooding experiments performed by the IMPACT (Investigation of Extreme Flood Processes and Uncertainty) project. Simulation results were in good agreement with observed data, and transient flows as well as the impact of building structures on flood waves were calculated with accuracy. The cut cell method eased the model sensitivity to refinement. It can be concluded that the model is applicable to the urban flood simulation in case the effects of sewer and stormwater drainage system on flooding are relatively small like the dam brake.

  • The objective of this research was to investigate the enhancement of heat transfer by wire mesh in impinging air jet system at the potential core region. The first experiment was carried out without mesh between nozzle exit and flat plate and the second experiment was done with mesh between them. When mesh was installed in front of the plate, heat transfer has been Increased due to the acceleration between rectangular halls and divided small jet In case clearances are changed, heat transfer comes to maximum under the condition of C=1mm, irrespective of nozzle exit velocity and H/B. Also the average heat transfer enhancement rate of a flat plate with mesh has been increased about 44% at maximum under the condition of U=18m/s, H/B=2 and C=1mm, compared to the result of a flat plate without mesh.

  • Median filter can be implemented in the binary domain based on threshold decomposition, stacking property, and linear separability. In this paper, we develop one-dimensional and two-dimensional parallel algorithms for the median filter on a reconfigurable mesh with buses(RMESH) which is suitable for VLSI implementation. And we evaluate their performance by comparing the time complexities of RMESH algorithms with those of algorithms on mesh-connected computer. When the length of M-valued 1-D signal is N and w is the window width, the RMESH algorithm is done in O(Mw) time and mesh algorithm is done in $O(Mw^2)$ time. Beside, when the size of M-valued 2-D image is $N{\times}N$ and the window size is $w{\times}w$, our algorithm on $N{\times}N$ RMESH can be computed in O(Mw) time which is a significant improvement over the $O(Mw^2)$ complexity on $N{\times}N$ mesh.

  • Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) provides Internet accesses to users by forming backbone networks via wireless links. A key problem of WMN is network capacity. For this, multi-channel and multi-rate functions of IEEE 802.11 can be utilized. Depending on channel assignments, multi-channel determines node connectivity and channel diversity. Also, in IEEE 802.11 multi-rate networks, the rate anomaly problem occurs, the phenomenon that low-rate links degrades the performance of high-rate links. In this paper, we propose rate separating multi-channel (RSMC) protocols that improves the node connectivity and channel diversity, and mitigates the rate anomaly problem. RSMC increases the channel diversity by forming tree-based WMNs and decreases the rate anomaly by separating different rate links on the tree via channels. In addition, it uses network connectivity (NC) algorithm to increase the node connectivity. Through simulations, we demonstrate that the RSMC shows improved performance than existing multi-channel protocols in terms of aggregate throughput, node connectivity, channel diversity.

  • 본 논문은 기존의 3D게임엔진에 실시간으로 상호작용이 가능하고 3D MMORPG(Massive Multi-play Outline Role Playing Game) 게임에 적합한 가상공간을 표현하기 위한 필요한 기술을 분석하고 이를 활용하려 한다. 기존의 머드 게임에 3차원 기술적용하고, 3차원 물체를 모델링하는데 있어서 메쉬나 버텍스, 혹은 폴리곤으로 사실적인 지형처리와 렌드링 속도향상을 위하여 3차원 개체의 폴리곤을 동적으로 생성시키기 위한 방법으로 Height field처리 기법과 거리에 따라 다르게 모델링된 데이터를 선택적으로 사용하는 LOD(Level of Detail)처리기법과 가시성 판단이나 충돌 검출을 위한 입체 컬링 방법으로 옥트리를 이용하여 가상공간을 분해 하기 위한 자료 구조로 사용한다. 본 논문은 기존의 3차원 공간을 표현하기 위하여 사용되고 있는 옥트리 구조를 이용하여 공간을 분할하고, 이를 세부수준으로 나누어 처리하기 위한 LOD 개념을 이용하여 외부지형을 폴리곤으로 표현하는 방법에 대한 처리 기법을 제시하려고 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 공간 계층 분해를 이용한 3 차원 메쉬 시퀀스 압축 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 우선 각 점에 대한 시간적 궤적을 공분산 행렬로 표현하고, PCA(Principal component analysis)를 적용하여 시간 궤적에 대한 고유 벡터와 PCA 계수를 획득한다. 공간적인 예측을 통해 PCA 계수에 대한 벡터 차를 추출하고, 벡터 차와 그것에 대한 고유 벡터를 전송한다. 제안하는 방법은 PCA 계수 예측의 성능을 높이기 위해 점진적 압축에서 사용하는 공간 계층 분해 기법을 적용하여, 계수 예측에 효과적인 이웃 점을 지정하도록 한다. 또한, 이웃 점 개수를 사용자가 임의로 지정할 수 있도록 하여, 성능과 복잡도간의 트레이드 오프를 제어할 수 있도록 한다. 다양한 모델에 대한 실험 결과를 통해 제안하는 방법의 성능을 확인한다.

  • 내부 순환형 회분식 반응기에서 UV/$TiO_2$ 시스템을 이용하여 기상의 아세톤과 알데히드류 유기화합물 분해 반응 특성을 온도와 농도 및 자외선 파장 및 광도에 대하여 고찰하였다. 또한 기존의 공기정화기에 장착할 수 있는 담체를 도출하고자 하였다. 새로운 광촉매 담지체로는 전처리 필터로 사용되는 메쉬망 형태를 사용하였으며, 광조사율이 높고 광촉매의담지량을 늘릴 수잇는 방안에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구 결과 광접촉 면적 대비 높은 반으성을 나타내었으며 Pt, Pd 등의 첨가에 의한 반응성 상승이 나타났다. 메쉬망 형태의담지체 사용시 광조사면적 대비 담지량의증가에 의하여 온도에 의한 흡착특성에 따른 영향을 더 크게 받는 것으로 나타났다.
