제품의 기능이 다양화 되고 신제품의 출시기간이 짧아지면서 소비자들은 새로운 제품의 조작 방법을 익히는데 어려움을 겪게 된다. 사용자 중심의 잘 설계된 메뉴 구조는 이러한 사용성 문제를 해결 해줄 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사용자 중심의 좋은 정보 구조 설계를 위해 활성화 확산의 비대칭 전이를 이용한 메뉴구조 및 레이블 평가 방법을 연구하였다. 활성화 확산 실험은 반응 시간이 짧을수록 연상 강도가 강하고, 단어 쌍간의 관계가 밀접함을 보여주므로, 잘 디자인된 메뉴구조는 상-하위 메뉴 쌍의 연상 정도가 활성화 진행 방향의 영향을 받지 않는다는 가설을 세울 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 휴대폰(모델명;SPH-W2900)의 메뉴를 추출하여 1차 활성화 확산(SAT)실험을 수행한 뒤, 각 메뉴 쌍에 대하여 정확도와 진행 방향에 따른 반응시간의 차이(비대칭 전이)를 파악함으로 레이블의 문제점을 도출하고 메뉴 구조 및 어휘를 개선하였다. 2차 활성화 확산 실험은 개선된 메뉴 쌍에 대해 비대칭 전이 현상이 감소하였는지를 확인하기 위해 실시되었으며 활성화 진행 방향에 대한 반응시간의 차이(비대칭 전이)는 월등히 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제시하는 활성화 확산의 비대칭전이는 사용자 중심의 메뉴 레이블을 정의 하는데 도움이 될 것이다.

In this study, I suggested a new model of universal web navigation design which can enhance users' web usability. I would like to prove that when users enjoy web navigation design, they access information much more effectively. Using a survey, I suggest some types of web navigation design for users. After that, I conducted an experiment with 4 types of web navigation designs, which have been developed to reflect varying stages of comprehensibility. My survey focused on three points. First I measured the time they spent to search for information. Second, I tested whether they lost their way while searching for information and if they did lose their way, I checked whether they could recover from their errors and find their way back. Third, I investigated whether layout, location and size of the web navigation design factors affected usability. The results of my survey indicated that users spend the shortest time, have the easiest interface, and have least error incidence under the web navigation design to enhance old-aged users' web usability. Thus, developing a universal web navigation design can encourage people to be more involved with the internet.

The purpose of this study is to make an evaluation on menu selection and satisfaction levels of the tourists who visit Korean restaurants in Busan. This study aims to propose general, strategic plans for improving the menu quality management of Korean restaurants in the future and find out measures to make restaurant users satisfied and revisit. A survey was conducted on ordinary people who had visited Korean restaurants in tourist hotels in Busan. A total of 310 copies of questionnaire were distributed to them from September 1 to 30, 2008. The SPSS/PC+ for Window 12.0 was used for data processing and analysis. As a result, it was found that selection attributes of Korean restaurant menu had an effect on customer satisfaction and revisit intention, and the most influential factors were health and menu designs. These days, people are getting more interested in keeping in shape with the Well-being trend. Such a modern trend is an important factor when selecting menu items. Therefore, when menu management is considered, health-related factors need to be considered more than anything else. In addition, various and unique menu items need to be designed to draw people's curiosity and make customers revisit.

최근 동양사상은 사회, 문화 전반에 걸쳐 활용되고 있으며 디자인 분야에 적용하려는 연구 역시 지속적으로 이어져오고 있다. 이러한 맥락으로 볼 때 동양사상과 인터페이스의 관계에서도 음양오행, 팔괘, 하도낙서 등의 기본원리에 의한 적용이 가능하다고 유추할 수 있으며, 우주 만물의 조화와 균형을 추구하고 있는 동양사상을 사용자 인터페이스에 적용한다면 사용하기 쉬움과 어려움의 균형이 적절하게 조화를 이루어 인간이 보다 자연스럽게 사용할 수 있는 UI가 개발될 가능성을 가지고 있다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 구궁. 팔괘의 의미에 따른 모바일폰 메뉴 구조를 통하여 단순히 사용빈도가 높거나 유사한 항목간의 관계, 기업의 마케팅을 위한 관계 설정이 아닌 각 기능이 가지고 있는 본질적 의미를 팔괘로 해석하고, 구궁에 적용함으로써 질서와 조화를 갖춘 메뉴 관계를 형성하고, 이를 통해 인간이 보다 자연스럽게 사용 할 수 있는 UI를 제언하고자 하는 목적으로 진행되었다. 연구방법으로 음양오행, 주역의 팔괘 등을 체계적으로 수용하고 있으며, 구궁이라는 9개의 공간에 의미와 시간의 요소를 조합하여 해단함으로써, 인간사 전반에 걸친 해석이 가능한 '기문둔갑'이라는 동양학문을 제시하고, 이를 토대로 사용자 인터페이스와의 관계를 밝히고 적용가능성을 설명하였다. 사례연구로 $3{\times}3$ 메뉴구조의 모바일폰 디스플레이 인터페이스에 기문둔갑의 기초인 구궁, 팔괘를 적용하는 방법을 설명하고 디자인전공자 30명의 설문으로 얻은 사용자 멘탈모델과 비교 분석하여 디자인에서의 동양사상 활용 가능성을 설명하였다.

사용자 중심의 인터페이스를 설계하기 위해서는 작업 환경에 따른 사용자의 작업 특성 및 이와 관련된 인지 과정에 대한 분석이 선행되어야 한다. 하지만 손가락을 직접 사용하는 새로운 작업 환경인 터치스크린을 적용하는 다수의 기기들은 바뀐 작업 환경에 대한 고려 없이 마우스나 키보드 등의 입력 방식에서의 메뉴 구조를 그대로 따르고 있어 사용자에게 불필요한 움직임 및 인지적 과정을 야기시켜 사용성의 저하를 가져오고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 터치스크린에서의 한 손가락 작업 환경의 물리적 특성 및 이에 따른 사용자들의 보다 단순한 인지 과정을 고려한 동적인 메뉴 구조를 제안하였다. 그 결과 사용자들은 동적인 메뉴구조에서 보다 빠른 작업 수행 경향을 보였으며, 인지적 과정에 있어서도 그 시간이 적게 소요되는 경향을 보였다. 본 연구 결과, 터치스크린 환경에서의 작업 특성 및 인지 과정을 고려한 동적인 메뉴 구조는 정적인 메뉴 구조보다 일반적인 사용자 중심의 메뉴 기반 인터페이스를 설계하는데 유용하게 쓰일 것으로 보인다.

우리들은 흔히 레이아웃에서의 그래픽적인 아름다움이나 플래시 무비, 쇽웨이브 무비 등과 같이 동영상적 재미요소가 적절히 적용된 웹사이트를 잘 만들어진 웹사이트라 여기고, 이와 같은 기준을 웹사이트를 평가하는 중요한 기준으로 여기고 있다. 물론, 위와 같은 기준이 웹사이트를 평가하는 중요한 요소임에는 틀림없지만, 여기서 우리는 또 다른 기준의 하나인 "메뉴 네비게이션(Menu Navigation)"이라는 아주 중요한 요소에 대하여 대뤄보고자 한다.(중략)

A new design method for multi-functional pull-down menu based on stacking rules is proposed. The importance of a design point of view has been emphasized in many previous studies on web navigation. Taking technical aspects with an emphasis on programming techniques into consideration in this paper, multiple elements, which are used for constructing main menu of the pull-down menu, are capable of performing their unique functions independently in addition to basic classification function by disposing them to separated layers using stacking rules. Furthermore, the improvement of visual effects and efficiency for information navigation can be expected by implementing submenu selection-bar using animation techniques and function to automatically search submenu item. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is identified by implementing multi-functional pull-down menu using CSS and jQuery.

Rapid development of electronic technology has made it possible to perform various function. But this technology made it increase it's complexity. Therefore, It was important to identify usability problem in interface design. The quality of interface to promote the efficient interaction should be evaluated with regard to users' cognitive characteristics. So, in this paper, washing machine, that is one of the most useful electronic home application was studied menu structure on interface and it's operational states transition. At first, an cognitive menu structure is identified with users' conceptual similarity of the main function of washing machine. Then three washing machines was selected to compare with the cognitive menu structure. And, we were analyzed how operational state of the washing machine was transfered. As a result, we can be revealed that menu operational method based on the cognitive structure was consistent with the user's preferred operational method during the experimental tasks and the users and designers had a different knowledge of an it's function structure. These results will be useful to design the washing machine interface.
