ForwardCast : A New VOD Streaming Method in P2P (포워드캐스트(ForwardCast) : P2P에서의 새로운 VoD 스트리밍 방법)

  • Recently researches that apply P2P networks to VOD streaming have been actively published In the previous works on VOD streaming, they aimed at achieving two major goals, which are zero-delay transmission and minimization of service rejection ratio. This paper proposes a new method, called ForwardCast, for VOD streaming based on a P2P-based multicasting tree in order to achieve theses two goals. In this method,- basically a new client selects one of the preceding clients and starts receiving a whole video from the selected one without any delay. In some situation, two preceding clients are selected to transfer the ending part of the video and its the remaining part simultaneously. In our experiment, ForwardCast can reduce the rejection ratio compared to previous works without increasing server stress.

GNUnet improvenemt for anonymity supporing in large multimedia file (대형 멀티미디어 파일의 익명성 지원을 위한 수정 GNUnet)

  • The GNUnet proposed a file encoding method by 1KB block size to support anonimity of files, decentralizes encoded block to peers through unstructed mode and original data decoding method a block searching or encoded blocks. but, the encoding and block decentralizing method with $600\sim700MB$ large multimedia file appered two problems. First problem, it need addition R block and I block, which make about 4% of storage resource. Second problem, unstructured model added network load by broadcasting decentralizing method. Third problem, The critical point of keyword search function. This paper suggest variable encoding block size and structured model by block decentralizing solution. Suggested encoding method reduced block request supplementary block generation from 4% to 1%, network load by proposal structured model sending answer through dedicated peer to decentralize block and we defined content-based keyword and identifier of sharing file.

  • Objectives of shipboard integration networks are to exchange and manage integrated information. Shipboard integration networks use UDP(User Datagram Protocol) multicast for the exchange of information. However, such information can be missed or damaged because UDP can't guarantee reliability. The standard of shipboard integration networks defines error log functions for the missed or damaged information. In this paper, we analyze internal and external log functions. The internal log function records errors internally, and the external log function sends error messages to a log server and records them in a database. We also develop a log processing module and log server for the external log function.

  • To support multimedia applications such as a multimedia communication systems and multimedia broadcasting, an operating system need to predict their timing-constraints. So, In this real-time systems, we must solve the priority inversion problem that may make the behavior of unpredictable systems and need a real-time server model that provides a better preemptability and minimizes a system overhead. In current real-time systems, the single thread server model, the worker model and the dynamic server model are being used for synchronization but they cannot propose an effective structure for managing shared resources. In this paper, the priority inheritance protocol is used to solve the priority inversion problem and the hybrid prioritized worker model is proposed, which can provide a more effective structure and a faster response time minimizing a system overhead. The hybrid prioritized worker model is to combine the static and the dynamic prioritized worker model, and have a better performance than other models in response time which is an important factor in a real-time system.

  • IISO/IEC 9594-8 defines the public key framework and attribute certificate framework. Attribute certificate framework deals with privilege management infrastructure(PMI). In PMI, for privilege management using attribute certificates, role assignment certificates and role specification certificates are used to assign and specify privileges independently. Role specification certificates includes privilege specifications and the details far privilege management of network environments. Privilege management of unreliable network environment tries to enhance the reliability and efficiency of privilege information transmission forwarding over unreliable routes in the presence of potentially faulty nodes and edges. Each node forms a role specification tree based on role specification relationship data collected from the network. In this paper privilege management cost with the role specification certificates tree structure is evaluated trying to reduce the overhead incurred by role creation and modification of privileges. The multicasting of packets are used for scalability. We establish management cost model taking into account the packet loss and node reliability which continuously join and leave for network. We present quantitative results which demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed privilege management scheme.

  • In this paper, we describe technologies of Intranet administrator and user application used in the PEC(Protocol Engineering Center) Office Intranet system which provides platform independent application framework using Internet/Intranet standard technologies for distribution of Web documents and real-time multimedia information. The PEC Office is composed of administrator applications to support environments for administration of all applications including group/user add, update, and delete facilities and construction of user directory and user applications to support schedule sharing, virtual library, job report, output management, budget management, and real-time audio/video broadcasting services. These applications allow differentiation and customization services according to department and title employed per users.

  • At present, with the rise of smart-phone market supported the Wi-Fi, smart-phone based network content has propagated rapidly. But, network content service is difficult in feature phone and multimedia device not supporting the Wi-Fi or supporting only the bluetooth. This paper was used the zigbee technology supporting low power, low cost, availability, multi channel, broadcasting compared to the bluetooth or Wi-Fi. It will provide a variable network game development by utilizing the zigbee technology. Also, it is provide the development of variable mobile network contents using the zigbee.

  • 위성통신 시스템은 기존의 지상망이나 광 케이블 기술에 비해 통신 대역폭의 유연성과 다중 접속능력, 이동통신, 광역성, 멀티포인트 및 브로드캐스팅 등의 본래의 특징으로 인해 초고속정보통신망 구축에 중요한 역할을 하게 된다. 특히 OBP (On-Board Processing) 기술을 적용하면 기존 위성통신 탑재장치의 수동적인 중계 기능 이외에 복조/재변조, 부호/복호화 및 오류정정, 중계기 및 빔간의 상호 연결/절체 등의 새로운 기능이 추가되어 능동적인 중계를 가능하게 함으로써 통신 품질의 향상, 통신 링크의 전송 효율 개선, 전송 용량 증대 등의 장점을 갖고있다. OBP 탑재 위성 B-IDSN 중계망은 하나의 거대한 가상 ATM 교환기로 간주되고, 여러중계 지구국들중 목적 중계 지구국으로 패킷들을 직접 라우팅 할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 논문은 OBP 탑재 위성 B-ISDN 연동 프로토콜 연구를 수행하는 것으로서, 위성 B-ISDN 구조와 각 지구국별 신호 기능 및 B-IDSN 신호 시스템인 DSS2 계층 3 신호 프로토콜, B-ISUP 프로토콜, S-BISUP 프로토콜의 구조를 분석하였다. 또한 점-대-다지점을 위한 B-ISDN의 연결과 소유권 및 각각의 프로토콜에 대한 메시지와 프리미티브를 정의하여, 이를 토대로 OBP 탑재 위성 B-IDSN 연동 프로토콜의 기본 호 처리 절차를 설계 및 구현하고, 이를 테스트하였다.

  • For an efficient role based access control in highly distributed computing environment to reduce management cost, we utilize attribute certificates. Especially highly distributed computing environments such as ubiquitous computing environments which cannot have global or broad control, need another attribute certificate management technique. The techniques for transmission of the attribute certificates and management of the group keys should be considered to reduce management cost. For better performance we structure attribute certificates. We group roles and make the role group relation tree. It results secure and efficient role renewing and distribution. For scalable attribute certificate distribution, multicasting packets are used. We take into account the packet loss and quantifying performance enhancements of structuring attribute certificates.

  • TMO (Tim-triggered Message-triggered Object) 는 분산환경에서의 정시보장 컴퓨팅을 목표로 제안된 실시간 객체 모델이다. TMO는 객체 자료저장소(object data store), 주기와 데드라인에 의해 구동되는 쓰레드와 이벤트 메시지 전달에 의해 데드라인 방식으로 구동되는 쓰레드로 구성된다. 이러한 TMO 의 수행을 위해, 윈도우 운영체제상의 WTMOS, 리눅스 상의 LTMOS 와 리눅스 커널 내부에서 TMO를 제공하기 위한 TMO-Linux등의 엔진들이 개발되었다. 이러한 엔진들은 서로 다른 플랫폼을 가진 네트워크 환경에서 논리적 멀티캐스트 채널 방식의 분산 IPC 를 기반으로 TMO 의 분산 컴퓨팅을 지원한다 단, 기존의 분산 IPC 는 UDP 기반의 브로드캐스트 방식을 사용하기 때문에 같은 서브 네트워크에 속한 노드들로만 분산 환경을 구축할 수 있고, 특정 채널을 사용하지 않는 노드에도 메시지를 전달하는 브로드캐스팅 오버혜드가 발생하며, UDP 의 특성에 기인한 신뢰성 저하의 문제를 갖고 있다 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위해, TMO 엔진의 분산 IPC 모델에 Channel Binding을 통한 그룹 커뮤니케이션 기법을 도입하고 이를 TCP 기반으로 확장하였다.
