The internet will should require the QoS(quality of service) guarantees that the real-time traffic like as audio and video data will be operated well in the future. We had designed Q-MOTP which transfer multimedia object data and proved excellent performance. This paper describes an adaptive QoS management architecture and mechanism based on the information of system resources. Resource manager reports the system resource information periodically or when resources are in the overload state, or on demand by the QoS manager. By using this information, the QoS manager can predict QoS degradation and perform CAC.

With the development of information technology and digitalization in these days, information network of library has been accomplished rapidly. The use and concern on Multimedia contents are increasing in the digital library based on information network. In this study I examined the definition of Multimedia contents and analysed the contents services and contents management for the use of Multimedia contents in digital library. As a result. the effect of information technology is important for changing of information environment. Moreover, the multimedia which are resources whose information demand of the user is various contents with it is changing the possibility of knowing it was with application.

멀티미디어 트래픽의 전송 중에 핸드오버가 발생한다면, 멀티미디어 트래픽의 QoS가 지연 및 손실에 의하여 영향 받기 때문에 정지 상태와 동일한 QoS를 유지하기 위하여 효율적인 자원 관리 방안이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 빈번한 핸드오버 상황에서의 단말에게 핸드오버를 하지 않은 상황에서와 같은 일정한 수준의 QoS 보장하기 위한 연결수락제어 기법을 제안한다.

Since the invention of Web, it became part of our daily life replacing the routine information search and effecting many activities which otherwise could have been done off-line without it. It was a natural evolution of the web technology, which had started out as a simple test based pattern matching, to be based on the optimized match process for its multi-media Web environment, like still images, music and movies that we are to face today. In this paper, we proposed and implemented the model which the multimedia resources can be efficiently shared in semantic web. After converting multimedia resource information(metadata) into RDF, for efficient management, the model separate and allotment actual multimedia resource and corresponding metadata changed to RDF to each server. The proposed model could be applied in all multimedia resources. For easy explanation and implementation, however, we applied it to the digital photograph in example.

A literature analysis for the planning and realization of the multimedia meta database and digital library's integrated information system was carried out to establish the various oceanographic resources in the Oceanographic Information Center, the first in Korea. The study targeted from printed matter, network resources, full-text and to VOD. The focus of the analysis lies in the providing practical integrated information retrieval service for oceanographic resources based on the framework of effective MODS metadata with network resources description. The analyses included oceanographic resources, multimedia information processing, MODS metadata descriptive elements, metadata classification, system organization, and retrieval for planning and implementation of the multimedia meta database system.

멀티미디어 멀티캐스트에서의 통신 관리를 위한 기존의 많은 방법들은 인터넷이나 ATM망 같은 특정 전송환경에 의존적이었고, 효율적인 통신 관리 메카니즘이 부족했다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 멀티미디어 멀티캐스트 어플리케이션에 적용될 수 있는 유연하고 확장 가능한 통신 관리 구조를 정의한다. 이 구조는 제어와 터미널의 분리를 통해 원격제어 및 이동 제어가 가능하게 함으로서 다양한 방법으로 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 환경을 제공하며, 호 제어와 연결 제어를 분리하여 연결자원의 효율적인 사용을 가능케 했으며, 연결제어를 위해 기존의 프로토콜의 접합을 사용함으로서 네트워크 환경에 독립적인 환경을 제공할 수 있고, 기존 전송 네트워크의 최소한의 수정 및 구조의 실용성 증가를 기대할 수 있다.

One of the most challenging technical issues in mobile communication for multimedia is Quality of Service (QoS) management of handover calls. This paper proposes a 2-level handover control system to copy with this problem. A 2-level handover control system consists of resource reservation and call admission control modules. The resource reservation module divides the network resource into Hard and Soft reserved resource. The Hard reserved resource is only for the handover calls while the Soft reserved resource is for both the handovers and the new calls. And also, the resource reservation module classifies handovers into primary and secondary handovers based on often they occur. The call admission control module deals with the primary and secondary handover calls in different ways. The new calls can use Soft reserved resource only if there is sufficient amount available in the Hard reserved resource. Proposed system is evaluated using an M/M/c/c queueing model. It is shown that proposed system allows more efficient utilization of network resource without degrading QoS comparing with the legacy handover control systems.

The future mobile communication system can support not only voice but also multimedia applications such as data, image and video. It requires greater resources than the voice-oriented mobile system. We propose a efficient resource allocation for mobile multimedia services in the OFDMA systems. Our method is able to guarantee QoS continuity of realtime class and carry the maximum number of non-realtime subscriber.

본 논문에서는 Windows NT 기반아래 구현된 멀티미디어 원격강좌를 구현하였다. Windows NT와 SQL Server는 사용자 인증 및 자원관리를 담당하며, 원격강좌 내의 모든 자료는 널리 쓰이는 HWP 형식자료를 활용할 수 있으며, 문서자료에 음성 및 동영상, URL 링크 등을 지원하는 PDF 형식으로 제공된다. 구현된 원경강좌를 활용한 운영결과와 향후 과제 등이 논의되었다.

Quality of experience (QoE) for multimedia services in macro-femtocell networks is one of the key issues for 5G mobile and wireless communications. A service management structure needs to guarantee the QoE for mobile users based on end-to-end negotiation to support service continuity. Resource management is necessary to maintain the QoE requirements of different multimedia applications, because service continuity may be impeded by delays. This paper proposes four types of resource management scheme to support consistent QoE for different multimedia services. For this purpose, a QoE structure is suggested, and a resource allocation scheme is proposed by utilizing a fixed amount of radio resources reserved for dedicated use to support QoE. Various multimedia services with different requirements (such as voice, image, and data) can be serviced simultaneously, because QoE can be provided under our proposed scheme. Simulation results show that our scheme provides better performance than a conventional scheme with respect to outage probability and total data throughput.
