According to the current increase of the usefulness of information by Internet and Communication network, several methods are proposed in which multimedia information may be efficiently managed and serviced. This paper proposes FBOM(Fuzzy-Based Object Manager) using $\alpha$-cut in Object manager for Fuzzy-Based Multimedia Post-Office Box construction. The proposed system utilizes object discrimination, fuzzy filtering, and class generation structure in order to manage object using Fuzzy filtering. To know how well the proposed system are able to work, this paper have tested against the methods with 1000 items of multimedia information, and our system are compared with Random-key method and FBOM method.

According to the current increase of the usefulness of information by Internet Communication network, several methods are proposed in which a specific domain information nay be efficiently constructed and serviced. This paper proposes Relationship Grouping of Fuzzy Filtering Objects for Multimedia Statistic Post-office Box Construction. The proposed method exploits RelCRO( $D_{omain}$, Gi), RelSRO( $D_{omain}$, Gi) and FAS in order to group using (equation omitted)-cut. To know how well the proposed method is able to work, this paper have test against the methods with 1600 items of multimedia type information, and our system are compared with Random-Key, OGM and the proposed method. The results shows that the proposed method provides the better performance than the other methods.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the of multimedia university library system theoretical models and to design partial functions of this model using multimedia toolbook 3.0. The theoretical model is constructed based on several operating systems such as JANUS Virtual Library and The Book House. Knowledge base of the designed system is constructed by interviewing reference librarians. The designed system consists of six modules : Reference Expert system. Journal Browsing, Multimedia Database, OPAC, External Database and User' s Guide. Finally, four problems are discussed as several major problems in building up multimedia university library network

In recent years, several methods in distributed environment have been proposed in which a user-centered multimedia service may be efficiently provided. However, problems such as the improvement of QoS, streaming and the dynamic service of data for distributed service of multimedia data are introduced. In this paper we propose $POX -H_{r}$ structure for user-centered multimedia service in distributed network environment. The proposed $POX -H_{r}$ structure are constructed by disjunct, conjunct, semantic and filtering mapping scheme, and its structure are updated by $M_{filtering}$ scheme. The comparison results shows that the proposed method provides the better than the other methods.

본 연구에서 개발된 참고봉사 지원시스템은 도서관 안내정보시스템과 주제ㆍ토픽 전문가시스템으로 구성된다. 도서관 안내정보시스템은 도서관의 이용정보, 자료이용방법, 온라인목록의 사용방법 등에 관한 안내정보를 제공하는 시스템이다. 주제ㆍ토픽 전문가시스템은 정보사서가 가지고 있는 석유화학분야의 정보조사제공과 관련된 경험적 지식을 이용하여 관련 정보를 제공하는 전문가시스템이다. 본 연구에서 개발된 참고봉사 지원시스템은 IBM 호환기종의 개인용 컴퓨터(IBM PC AT 286 이상)에서 운영되며, 본 시스템의 개발언어로는 얘기보따리, 멀티미디어 메이커(Multimedia Maker), 1st-CLASS를 사용하였다.

인터넷상에서 실시간 영상회의 시스템을 구축하기 위해 MBone망을 구성하고 RTP에 의해 영상 및 음성정보의 고속전송이 가능하게 하였다. 이를 기반으로 멀티미디어 영상회의 프로토콜인 H.323을 탑재하여 다자간 회의 시스템을 구현하고, 더불어 영상사서함 기능을 부가하여 녹화, 재생이 가능하게 한다. 구현결과 기존의 시스템보다 속도가 향상됨을 확인했다.

The brand new type of mobile terminal services are kept being introduced in accordance with the development of mobile communication technology. Among many kinds of mobile application services, the PoC application standard which is using instant messaging service and group calls method with the existing walkie-talkie technology has been finished as the version 1.0 after tremendously active discussion and is being continued to be confirmed as 2.0 and 2.1. The PoC Box, which is discussed for replacing the PoC client and intermediate object as a voice messaging box, is currently being introduced and the biggest issues for PoC Box technology topics include the part of saved informations' processing and effective multimedia contents' transmission in the PoC Box system. In this research, we propose that the PaC client could effectively transmit the media to the end-user by specifying the playback location or range, focusing on the contents and the methods of dynamic controlling for saved media in PoC Box. This paper deals with the way of dynamic controlling method using the RTSP which is appropriate for PoC Box and the effective method for generation, expression, processing of various multimedia contents including audio and video objects.

This study analyzed the process of multimedia services and indexed the core quality characteristics through the tools employed in 'Define' and 'Measure' steps of the 6 Sigma DMAIC methodology. To achieve the goal, as a case study of 'S' University Central Library, first, brainstorming technique was used to tap the librarians, second, interview with the half-time student workers, third, user's opinion on homepage was analyzed and lastly, the interview with the users. This study also drew some potential causal factors which would likely to affect the multimedia service using Process Map and C&E Diagram. Those factors were prioritized using X-Y matrix and Pareto Chart. This study revealed 14 factors affecting multimedia services: 'presence/absence of the persons who are in charge of selection', 'cycle of selection materials', 'presence/absence of seperated multimedia room', 'materials arrangement method', 'notification of popular materials', 'notification of documents arrivals', 'methods of noticing new arrivals', 'methods of ordering materials', 'cycle of checking order status', 'types of persons requesting materials', 'methods of requesting materials', 'checking of the status of the returned materials', 'methods of noticing materials in housed', and 'methods of ways to return overdue materials'.

For the sake of activating web-based reading education in the public libraries, This study examine the practical use of web-based reading education and research into its activation. Web-based reading, red the book at any time/where with librarian and user, is to achieve the goal of reading education. The methods are to set up Home page of reading education through Internet, to guide user in various web-based reading materials and reading planning at any time. In addition, It is to be completed interactive action such as book review, reading dicussion through E-mail, a bulletin board, chatting etc. with librarian or user.
