A Study on the Replication Consistency Model for the Mapping System on the Client-Sewer Environment (클라이언트-서버 환경의 매핑 시스템 개발을 위한 복제 일관성 모델에 관한 연구)

  • It is required for multi-users to share massive mapping data effectively that distributed data model in the Client-Server environment is developed for the replication consistency. The existing model is not effective to the long transaction just like a mapping system, since it does not account lot consistency between GUI screen and database replications even though it emphasizes on the replication consistency. The performance of concurrency control is very important for those long transactions, especially the mapping systems. This model is to support consistency between GUI screen and replicas using display locks. It suggests consistency model improving process performance by modifying memory consistency model and optimistic concurrency control for mapping data's characteristics.

  • The logic synthesis systems for table look up(TLU) type field programmable e gate arrays(FPGAs) have so farstudied mostly the combinational logic problem m. This paper presents for mapping a sequential circuit onto a popular table look up architecture, theXilinx 3090 architecture. In thefirst for solving this problem, combinational and sequential elements which have 6 or7 input combinational and sequential elements which haveless thanor equal to 5 inputs. We heavily use the combinational synthesis techniques tosolve the sequential synthesis problem. Our syntheisis approach is very simple, but its results are reasonable. We compare seveal benchmark Examples with sis-pga(map_together and map_separate) synthesis system and the experimental results show that our synthesis system is 17% betterthan sis-pga sequential synthesis system for TLU PGAs.

  • According as the users can connect to remote hosts at anytime by using internet, the demand of non-stop system is increased. Also, the research about on-line adding/deleting disks and hosts are progressed. This paper suggests that the method of reducing additional operation when we add disks to the stripping system. That method can fast mapping like equation based mapping method because of using so-called SZIT(Striping Zone Information Table) and equations. And that method can reduce the relocation overhead in striping system at adding disks.

  • Bump mapping is a technique that represents the detailed parts of the object surface, such as a perturberance of the skin of a peanut, using the geometry mapping without complex modeling. However, the hardware implementation for bump mapping is considerable, because a large amount of per pixel computation, including the normal vector shading, is required. In this paper, we propose a new bump mapping algorithm using the polar coordinate system and its hardware architecture. Compared with other existing architectures, our approach performs bump mapping effectively by using a new vector rotation method for transformation into the reference space and minimizing illumination calculation. Consequently, our proposed architecture reduces a large amount of computation and hardware requirements.

  • Currently lots of studies to solve meta-data interoperability in between schema attributes are conducted. But the accuracy in previous schema mapping studies is low since the studies just use the similarity in between attributes. So the studies are not suitable for the schema mapping such as document conversion, system integration, etc. In this paper, we propose a method which can conduct the schema mapping interactively using frequent pattern mining. The method can conduct more accurate mapping process because the method use the description element which is an element among each schema element for the metadata standard. A performance study has been conducted to compare the accuracy performance of the method using metadata standards.

An Efficient Snapshot Technique for Shared Storage Systems supporting Large Capacity (대용량 공유 스토리지 시스템을 위한 효율적인 스냅샷 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an enhanced snapshot technique that solves performance degradation when snapshot is initiated for the storage cluster system. However, traditional snapshot technique has some limits adapted to large amount storage shared by multi-hosts in the following aspects. As volume size grows, (1) it deteriorates crucially the performance of write operations due to additional disk access to verify COW is performed. (2) Also it increases excessively the blocking time of write operation performed during the snapshot creation time. (3)Finally, it deteriorates the performance of write operations due to additional disk I/O for mapping block caused by the verification of COW. In this paper, we propose an efficient snapshot technique for large amount storage shared by multi-hosts in SAN Environments. We eliminate the blocking time of write operation caused by freezing while a snapshot creation is performing. Also to improve the performance of write operation when snapshot is taken, we introduce First Allocation Bit(FAB) and Snapshot Status Bit(SSB). It improves performance of write operation by reducing an additional disk access to volume disk for getting snapshot mapping block. We design and implement an efficient snapshot technique, while the snapshot deletion time, improve performance by deallocation of COW data block using SSB of original mapping entry without snapshot mapping entry obtained mapping block read from the shared disk.

  • 본 논문에서는 일반 사용자가 사실감 있는 가상공긴 표현을 위해 사진 이미지를 이용하여 직법 텍스춰 매핑을 할 수 있는 방법에 대해 기술한다. 텍스춰매핑은 세 장의 이미지를 이용하는데 각 카메라에서 바라본 건물 표면의 특정 픽셀들과 카메라사이에서 생성되는 각도를 이용한다. 이 각도로 매핑되는 픽셀값에 가중치를 부설하여 건물 외곽에 발생되는 경사와 같은 왜곡현상을 최소화시켜서 매핑된 건물이 실제 건물처럼 사실감이 있도록 매핑할 수 있는 것이다. 이 방법을 이용하여 가상공간을 자동 생성해주는 웹 컨텐츠 구축 시스템의 매핑 인터페이스를 구현하였다. 자동생성된 가상 건물모델에 사용자가 직접 찍은사진영상을 입력하면 랜더링시 텍스춰를 재구성하여 건물모델에 사실감을 증가시키는 역할을 하도륵 하였다.

Backward Mapping Method for Hyperbolic Patterns (하이퍼볼릭 패턴 생성을 위한 백워드 매핑)

  • Most existing algorithms adopt the forward mapping method that is based on vector representation. Problem of existing algorithms Is the exponential increase of memory usage with number of layers. This degrades the accuracy of the boundary pattern representation. Our method uses bitmap representation and does not require any additional post-processing for conversion of vector-form results to bitmap-form. A new and efficient algorithm is presented in this paper for the generation of hyperbolic patterns by means of backward mapping methods.

Mapping Cache for High-Performance Memory Mapped File I/O in Memory File Systems (메모리 파일 시스템 기반 고성능 메모리 맵 파일 입출력을 위한 매핑 캐시)

  • The desire to access data faster and the growth of next-generation memories such as non-volatile memories, contribute to the development of research on memory file systems. It is recommended that memory mapped file I/O, which has less overhead than read-write I/O, is utilized in a high-performance memory file system. Memory mapped file I/O, however, brings a page table overhead, which becomes one of the big overheads that needs to be resolved in the entire file I/O performance. We find that same overheads occur unnecessarily, because a page table of a file is removed whenever a file is opened after being closed. To remove the duplicated overhead, we propose the mapping cache, a technique that does not delete a page table of a file but saves the page table to be reused when the mapping of the file is released. We demonstrate that mapping cache improves the performance of traditional file I/O by 2.8x and web server performance by 12%.

Performance Improving of Convolutional Decoder for a COFDM Receiver using the Subchannel Information (COFDM 수신기에서 부채널 정보를 이용한 비터비 디코더 성능향상 기법)

  • 본 논문에서는 COFDM(Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 시스템에서 각 부채널이 갖는 신호대 잡음의 양을 수신단이 측정할 수 있는 특징을 이용하여 콘볼루셔널 디코더 메트릭 계산에 반영함으로서 콘볼루셔널 디코더의 성능이 향상될 수 있는 방안을 제안한다. 이를 위하여 먼저 OFDM 시스템에서 각 부채널이 갖는 신호대 잡음의 양은 부채널에서의 수신신호 전력에 비례함을 보인다. 또한, 콘볼루셔널 디코더의 메트릭 계산방법으로는 연판정 방법을 사용한다. 이때 부채널에서 수신된 신호의 신뢰도로 하여 신뢰도가 떨어지는 수신신호에 대하여는 메트릭 계산 과정에서 영향을 감쇄시키고 신뢰도가 높은 수신신호는 영향을 증대시키도록 한다. 제안된 방법을 경수로 20이고 직접파가 없는 다중경로채널에 적용하여 모의실험한 결과 coherent QPSK 매핑방법을 사용한 COFDM 시스템에서 10-4 BER을 기준으로 할 때 약 1.1dB의 SNR 성능향상을 얻었으며 16-QAM 매핑방법에서는 약 3.1dB 그리고 64-QAM 매핑방법을 사용한 경우 약 6.0dB의 성능향상을 얻었다.
