경유의 방향족 함량 변화가 배출가스에 미치는 영향 연구 (The Study on Effect of Exhaust Gas Characteristics according to Aromatic compound Content in Diesel)

  • 미국과 유럽 등지에서는 자동차용 경유의 방향족 함량이 대기 환경오염의 원인물질로 추정하고 있다. 경유의 총 방향족 및 다고리 방향족 함량 감소가 환경 유해배출가스 HC, NOx, PM 등을 감소시키기 때문이다. 국내에서도 급변하고 있는 차량기술 및 연료품질간의 상관성 규명이 필요한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내 실정에 맞는 차량과 연료간의 상호작용에 의하여 발생될 수 있는 환경적 영향평가를 진행하였으며 대상으로는 2.2L급 국내 대표 차량 2종(DPF 유 무)과 국내 정제기술로 생산된 5종의 연료를 통하여 경유의 방향족 함량에 따른 배출가스 특성을 분석하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 수송용 경유를 연료로 사용하고 있는 간접분사식 디젤기관에 있어서 연료에 초음파 에너지를 조사하였을 때의 기관성능 및 배출물질 특성 변화에 대해 조사하였다. 실험은 경유에 초음파 에너지를 조사한 연료와 상용 경유를 간접분사식 디젤기관에 적용하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 본 운전조건하에서, 초음파 에너지를 조사한 경유로 디젤기관을 운전하였을 경우,상용 경유 운전 시에 비해 지압선도, 열발생율 및 출력이 상승하고 질량연소율이 단축되었으며 제동연료소비율과 매연은 감소하였다. 또한, 보다 안정화되면서 완전한 연소가 이루어졌으며 질소산화물은 증가하였다.

  • Recently, we have a lot of interest in alternative fuels to provide energy independence from oil producing country and to reduce exhaust emissions for air pollution prevention. Biodiesel, which can be generated from natural renewable sources such as new or used vegetable oils or animal fats, may be used as fuel in diesel engine of compression ignition engine. In this paper, the test results on specific fuel consumption and exhaust emissions of neat diesel oil and biodiesel blends(10 vol.% biodiesel and 20 vol.% biodiesel) were presented using four stroke, direct injection diesel engine, especially this biodisel was produced from soybean oil at our laboratory. This study showed that Soot and CO emission were decreased as the blending ratios of biodiesel to diesel oil increased, on the other hand NOx emission was slightly increased because of the oxygen content in biodiesel. Also, the biodiesel blends yielded slightly higher specific fuel consumption than that of diesel oil because of lower heating value of biodiesel.

  • Diesel engines have high thermal efficiency, and they have less CO & HC emissions than another engines. while NOx & Soot emissions are very much. compared with exhaust emission standards. However, the limit level is more and more strengthened yearly due to the importance of environmental protection. So, the optimal countermeasures for the reduction of NOx & Soot emissions below limit level are required. Therefore. the author has investigated the effects of emulsified fuel on the characteristics of exhaust emissions. using an four-cycle, four-cylinder and direct injection diesel engine because the using of emulsified fuel among various methods for reducing NOx & Soot emissions is simple in installation low in cost and high in efficiency. The results of investigation according to various operating conditions are as follows : 1) Specific fuel consumption increase maximum 19.8% at low load. but is not affected at full load. 2) In case of emulsion ratio 25%, NOx emission decrease 32% at 75% load. 30% at full load. 3) In case of emulsion ratio 25%, Soot emission decrease 84% at 75% load, 59% at full load.

  • Recently the world is faced with the very serious problems related to the increasing use of the conventional petroleum fuels. THe air pollutions in big cities were also occurred by the exhaust emissions from automobiles. many researchers have been attracted various oxygenated fuels as an alternative fuel and a renewable fuel for the measure of these problems. In this study the effect of oxygen in fuel on the exhaust gas emissions has been investigated with oxygenated fuels as an alternative fuel for diesel engine. The exhaust gas emission were investigated by comparing with that of the diesel fuel. The vegetable fuel oil such as soybean oil gives lower smoke level than that with diesel fuel. Furthermore the smoke emission is more affected by the oxygen content in fuel than by the fuel viscosity. This study concluded that the fuels including oxygen might be a good measure to reduce smoke in diesel engine because the oxygen strongly influenced the combustion process.

  • Diesel engine offers superior fuel consumption than gasoline engine of equivalent capacity. For this reason, diesel engines are widely used in heavy duty transport applications. Specially, it has been many years that exhaust gases from gasoline automobile rather than from diesel is the major object concerned by Korea and other countries, and it is strongly required on the reduction techniques on harmful NOx, Soot, CO, He. Thus, this paper focused on the emission reduction and target for this paper is heavy-duty diesel engine equipped with power filter such as wet type air cleaner. In this paper, the performance, exhaust emissions(CO, THC, NOx, Soot) and noise of heavy-duty diesel engine were measured at maximum load condition and the range of 1,000∼2,200rpm. The smoke was measured at FAS(Free Accel Smoke) test mode.

  • In this paper, the effects of oxygen component in blended fuel on the exhaust emissions have been investigated far direct injection diesel engine. It was tested to estimate change of engine performance and exhaust emission characteristics for th? commercial diesel fuel and oxygenated blended fuels which have three kinds of fuels and various mixed rates. And, it was tried to analyze not only total hydrocarbon but individual hydrocarbons(C$_1$∼ C$\_$6/) in exhaust gases using gas chromatography to seek the reason far remarkable reduction of smoke emission on various oxygenated fuels. This study carried out by comparing the chromatogram with diesel fuel and diesel fuel blended DGM(diethylene glycol dimethyl ether), MTBE(methyl tart-butyl ether) and EGBE(ethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether). The results of this study show that individual hydrocarbons as well as total hydrocarbon of oxygenated fuel are reduced remarkably compared with commercial diesel fuel.

  • The characteristics of engine performance with fuel injection system in D.I. diesel engine were studied in this paper A fuel injection system has an important role in the performance and emission gas in a diesel engine. In this paper, an experimental study has been performed to verify the effect of the performance and the emission gas with the factors such as diameters of an injection nozz1e hole, diameters of an injection pipe and injection timing in the fuel injection system. The authors have obtained the results that optimizing the factors of fuel injection system is siginificant to enhance the performance of the engine system and consumption ratio of fuel, smoke, and NOx.

  • In the present study, reduction of harmful exhaust gas in a diesel engine using stratified injection system of dual fuel (diesel fuel and methanol) was tried. The nozzle and fuel injection pump of conventional injection system were remodeled to inject dual fuel in order from the same injector. The quantity of each fuel was controlled by micrometers, which were mounted at rack of injection pumps. The injection ratio of dual fuel was certificated by volumetric ratio in injection quantity test. Cylinder pressure and exhaust gas were measured and analyzed under various supply condition of duel fuel. We confirmed that combustion of dual fuel was performed successful1y by using modified injection system in a D.I. diesel. Soot and NOx are simultaneously reduced by stratified injection without large deterioration of thermal efficiency, but THC and CO are relatively increased.

  • Extensive experiments were conducted to investigate the emission of DI diesel engine by using DMC(dimethyl carbonate) as an oxygenated fuel additives. The results indicate that smoke reduces almost linearly with fuel oxygen contents. Reductions of HC and CO were attained noticeably, while a small increase in NOx was encountered concurrently. The effective reduction in smoke with DMC was maintained with the presence of CO2, which suggested a low NOx and smoke operation could be obtained in combination of using oxygenated fuel and EGR. Further experiment was conducted a thermal cracking set-up for mechanism studies.
