A proposition on digital maniac consumer market segmentation by consumer characteristics and behavior (매니아 소비자의 태도와 성향에 의한 디지털 매니아 세그멘테이션 제안)

  • Maniac consumers have a ripple effect on marketing because they are the main body of trends and consumer economy. So It is very important that we should first read needs and wants - in other words, psychological motives. And then we should find maniac consumer segments. This is an exploratory study that was done to obtain an insight for the new maniac consumer market segmentation. It examined the definition and characteristics of digital maniacs in Korea, and it carried out a literature study on consumers who have a similar consumption trend as the maniac users as a pre-study. Also, it looked into the trends and values of the maniac community in Korea, using the previous study's scale for innovative consumers. Next, the study interviewed maniac users using the first data and focused on discovering and grouping the new maniac segments based on the results. The study analyzed the purchase behaviors, decision-making, attitude for involvement and potential needs of the digital maniacs in Korea, and it discovered the segments for the segmentation of maniacs so it could find out the disposition and status of the digital maniacs. Such approach can be used as a strategical due for maniac target marketing and design(customer-oriented marketing and design) in the future.

  • As media and product became variety, the propensity of the people are coming to be various. To search for some popularity in this various life, we can find the class called 'the maina.' Todays, worlds are changing so fast that the masses can only have short life but if the Mania takes shape, becomes longer as natural. Also the hundreds of animations are broadcasted in a day, almost of them are forgotten in memories. However, the animations could lasting its value which has the Mania. This thesis is a studies on the constitution of Mania from animation 'Fullmetal Alchemist's Character. We can know the audience were not just like it, but they get crazy for it by comparing Japanese animation industry in those days; before it has been shrinking. Also, various contents of Fullmetal Alchemist means had enough customers.

When Mania takes shape, the product will being longer even masses in these days only have short-term life. Also there are hundreds of animations that has short-term life whom people forgot everyday they watch. However, the animations could lasting its value which has the Mania. This thesis is a studies on the constitution of Mania from animation 'Fullmetal Alchemist's Character The BONES had made. We can learn that the audience were not just like the animation, but get crazy for it by comparing Japanese animation industry in those days; before it has been shrinking and manufacturing various contents from Fullmetal Alchemist means there is enough consumtions. There are many reasons to form Mania group, but specially the character symbols at the works as a whole. From this study is to know a cause of how the animation 'Fullmetal Alchemist' made huge Mania group, and significance value of the work those group left.

A Study on the Difference in Consumer Demand of Leports Wear and Its Implication for Apparel Development by the Types of Motivation to Participate in Marine Leisure Sports

  • This study attempted to categorize the motivation for participation in leisure sports and analyze the difference in consumer demand for leisure sports wear according to the type. As a result of the analysis, the functionality of the preferred material consisted of movement, comfort, and body temperature maintenance. When purchasing, the factors to consider were extracted such as basic emphasis, emphasis on flaunting, and emphasis on practicality. The improvement requirement was composed of basic function improvement and various function additional factors, and the purchase satisfaction factor was composed of three factors: brand, practicality, design, and functionality. Motives for participation in marine leisure sports were grouped into mania, leisure, and health types. As for the functionality of the preferred material, the mania type and leisure type preferred movement, comfort, and body temperature maintenance functionality over the health type. As for the factors to consider when purchasing, the mania type and leisure type had higher consideration for the factors of basic emphasis, ostentation, and practicality than the health type. In the improvement requirements, both basic function improvement and various function additions had the highest mania type and the lowest health type. In terms of purchase satisfaction factors, practicality and brand were found to have a high leisure type, and functional factors were found to have a high mania type. For the enthusiastic group, it is thought that product development should focus on functionality and additional functions, and health types should be focused on design and utilization.
