  • he speed of microprocessor getting faster, the data transfer width between the microprocessor and the memory becomes a critical part to limit the system performance. So the study of the computer architecture with the high code density is cmerged. In this paper, a tentative Bi-Length Instruction Set Computer(BISC) that consists of 16 bit and 32 bit length instructions is proposed as the high code density 32 bit microprocessor architecture. The 32 bit BISC has 16 general purpose registers and two kinds of instructions due to the length of offset and the size of immediate operand. The proposed 32 bit BISC is implemented by FPGA, and all of its functions are tested and verified at 1.8432MHz. And the cross assembler, the cross C/C++ compiler and the instruction simulator of the 32 bit BISC are designed and verified. This paper also proves that the code density of 32 bit BISC is much higher than the one of traditional architecture, it accounts for 130~220% of RISC and 130~140% of CISC. As a consequence, the BISC is suitable for the next generation computer architecture because it needs less data transfer width. And its small memory requirement offers that it could be useful for the embedded microprocessor.

  • There are two strands for considering tile relationships between education and technology. One is the viewpoint of 'learning from computers' and the other is that of 'learning with computers'. In this paper, we call mathematics education with computers as 'computers and mathematics education' and this computer environments as microworlds. In this paper, we first suggest theoretical backgrounds ai constructionism, mathematization, and computer interaction. These theoretical backgrounds are related to students, school mathematics and computers, relatively As specific strategies to design a microworld, we consider a physical construction, fuctiionization, and internet interaction. Next we survey the different microworlds such as Logo and Dynamic Geometry System(DGS), and reform each microworlds for mathematical level-up of representation. First, we introduce the concept of action letters and its manipulation for representing turtle actions and recursive patterns in turtle microworld. Also we introduce another algebraic representation for representing DGS relation and consider educational moaning in dynamic geometry microworld. We design an integrating microworld between Logo and DGS. First, we design a same command system and we get together in a microworld. Second, these microworlds interact each other and collaborate to construct and manipulate new objects such as tiles and folding nets.

  • Purpose: The image registration of radiographic image and digital surface data is essential in the computer-guided implant guide system. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of using micro-screw on the working time and convenience of operators in the process of image matching for guided implant surgery. Materials and methods: A mandibular dental model was prepared in partial edentulism for Kennedy class I classification. Two micro-screws were placed on the each side of retromolar area. Radiographic and scan images were taken using computed-tomography and digital scanning. The images were superimposed by 12 operators in software in two different conditions: using remaining teeth image alone and using teeth and micro-screws images. Working time, operator convenience and satisfaction were obtained, and analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test (${\alpha}=.05$). Results: The working time was not statistically different between image registration conditions (P>.05); however, operator convenience and satisfaction were higher in the teeth and micro-screw assisted condition than in the teeth-alone assisted condition (P<.001). Conclusion: The use of micro-screw for the image registration has no effect in working time reduction, but improves operator convenience and satisfaction.
