Factors affecting sisomicin production by Micromonospora inyoensis (Micromonospora inyoensis에 의한 시소마이신 생산에 영향을 미치는 인자들)

  • The effects of cobalt chloride, methionine, and various carbon sources on the sisomicin production by M. inyoensis NRRL 3292 were investigated. It was found that both cobalt chloride and methionine exerted a greater stimulatory effect on sisomicin formation. Kinetic studies with various carbon sources revealed thai polysaccharide such as starch or dextrin was found io be better than glucose for sisomicin production Moreover, the relatively low concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide was one of the most important factors In accelerating sisomicin production during idiophase.

Lactic Acid Fermentation of Dioscorea batatas and Its Anti-Inflammatory Effects on TNBS-induced Colits Model (TNBS에 의해 유도된 마우스 대장염모델에서 유산균 발효 마의 항염효과)

  • To develop a health-aid preparation of Dioscorea batatas (DB), lactic acid fermentation was attempted using a mixed starter comprising of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Bifidobacterium longum. The anaerobic fermentation of a 10% DB flour suspension gave a uniform suspension of pH 3.65, containing $8{\times}10^6$ CFU/mL lactic acid bacteria. During the administration of the lactic acid fermented DB (FDB) and DB to trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced colitis mouse model, histological lesions, morphological damage, and myeloperoxidase acitivity were significantly reduced at a dosage of 200 and 400 mg/kg/day. Dose-response (200 and 400 mg/kg/day) studies revealed that FDB pre-treatment of mice significantly ameliorated the appearance of diarrhoea and the disruption of colonic architecture. In FDB-pretreated mice, there was a significant reduction in the degree of both neutrophil infiltration (measured as decrease in myeloperoxidase activity) and weight loss rates. Theses findings suggest that FDB exerts beneficial effects in experimental colitis and may be useful in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.

  • 소유역의 배수시설물 설계를 위한 확률강우량 결정에는 일반적으로 건설교통부 (2000)에 의해 제시된 강우강도식을 이용하며, 강우의 지속시간이 10분이하인 경우에도 통상 제시된 강우강도식의 지속시간 최소단위인 10분을 그대로 적용하는 것이 일반적이다. 따라서 도달시간이 수 분 정도인 도로 배수시설물의 경우에는 상대적으로 과대설계가 될 가능성이 크다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 극복하고자 모포마 분포를 시자료에 적용하여 분단위 연최대치 강우계열을 구성하고 이를 빈도해석하여 확률강우량을 추정하였다. 1분단위 강우자료(MMR 자료)를 이용하여 빈도해석을 수행한 결과 기존 건설교통부 (2000)에 의해 제시된 강우강도식은 분단위로 내삽할 수 없음을 확인하였다. 60분 집성자료를 모포마 분포에 적용하여 추정한 지속시간별 분단위 연최대치 강우계열은 관측된 분단위 연최대치 강우계열의 특성을 적절히 설명할 수 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 따라서 모포마 분포를 이용하는 경우 시단위자료를 이용하여 1분단위 자료의 특성 재현이 가능한 것으로 판단된다. 60분 집성자료와 시단위 자료를 이용하여 모포마 분포에 각각 적용하여 IDF 관계를 유도한 경우 그 차이는 매우 미미한 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 사용된 자기상관함수에 따른 차이도 미미한 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 모포마 분포는 시단위 자료로 부터 60분 이하의 지속시간에 대한 연최대치 강우계열을 적절히 재현할 수 있는 방법인 것으로 판단된다.

당절임 식용마의 건조방법에 따른 품질변화

  • 본 연구는 각종 영양성분과 기능성 물질을 함유한 식용마의 소비확대와 새로운 가공식품을 개발하고자, 당절임한 식용 마의 건조방법에 따른 물성 및 일반 성분의 변화를 조사하였다. 동결건조한 당절임 식용마의 명도는 높았고 적색도와 황색도는 열풍 및 진공 건조한 것에 비해 낮았으며, 수분함량과 재수화율은 동결건조한 것이 높게 나타났다. 수용성 단백질은 동결건조한 것이 6.43mg/100g으로 가장 낮았으며 총당과 환원당의 함량은 건조방법에 따라 뚜렷한 차이가 없었다. 주요 유기산은 malic, acetie, citric acid 이었고, acetic, citirc acid는 열풍 및 진공 건조한 것이 많았으나 malic acid는 동결 건조한 것이 월등히 높게 나타났다. 구성아미노산은 진공 건조한 것에 많았으며, 유리아미노산은 큰 차이가 없었다. 총 비타민 C함량도 별다른 차이가 없었으나 환원형 비타민 C는 동결이 산화형 비타민 C는 열풍 및 진공 건조한 것이 높게 나타났고, 무기질 함량은 K, Na, Mg의 함량이 많았다. 마 스낵의 관능검사에서는 열풍 및 진공건조에 비해 동결 건조한 것이 우수한 것으로 평가되었으며, 전자현미경적 관찰에서는 열풍 및 진공 건조한 것은 세포와 세포벽의 형태를 찾아 볼 수 없었으나 동결 건조 한것은 세포의 형태와 세포벽의 파괴가 일어나지 않았다. 본 연구는 당절임한 식용 마의 건조 방법에 따른 물성 및 성분의 변화를 조사한 결과, 동결건조한 것이 품질이 우수하였고, 영양성과 기능성을 함유한 마의 가공 식품의 개발의 가능성을 제시한다.

  • Nasal bone involvement of Langerhans cell histiocytosis is rarely reported. Here we present a case of a 13-year-old boy with a palpable nasal mass. Ultrasonography revealed a hypoechoic mass on the left side of the nose. Both CT scanning and MRI showed an osteolytic mass. The lesion seen on MRI was well-defined mass with homogeneous enhancement. Histopathological examination of the resected specimen confirmed the diagnosis of LCH.

Quality Characteristics of Yackwa made with Yam (Dioscorea batatas Decne) Powder (마 분말을 첨가한 약과의 제조와 품질특성)

  • Yam Yackwa (YP) was made by addition of yam power (15%) into flour. Depending on extension of storage time, lightness and redness of YP were increased. Yellowness of YP was decreasing until 3 days and increased from 9 days of storage. However, the yellowness of Yackwa without Yam powder (Non-YP) was increasing until 3 days and decreased from 6 days of storage. Hardness, gumminess, and chewiness of YP were improved compared to Non-YP. It means that the addition of yam power makes Yackwa soft. Oil absorption of Non-YP was low. Acid value and peroxide value of YP were 1.57 and 19.04, respectively. Moisture contents, crude ash, crude fat, crude protein, and carbohydrate of YP were $2.55{\pm}0.08%$, $0.71{\pm}0.01%$, $6.11{\pm}0.06%$, $15.97{\pm}1.40%$, and $64.66{\pm}0.09%$, respectively.

Mime of Mudang gut - based on Seoul gut - (무당굿의 마임 - 서울굿을 중심으로 -)

  • This article is considered how to utilize mime in the mudang gut. Actually, mime can't be the crux of mudang gut, and the only factors of mime is utilized. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to draw another nets of meanings in Mudang gut, not to study mime. First of all, I surveyed the constituent factors of mudang gut. One gutpan is combined with various factors. As a shamans(mudang), a musician, a jang gu player, a gongyangju(taking charge of food), a sibongja(helper for a shaman), and madangsoe (an under servant), they played their roles. The gut consists of equipment, food, clothes, music and dance. Next, I derived two nets of meaning out of considering a mudang gut performance of mudang (shaman). First, god in a general gutgeori appears expressing their existence by using mime with the music. Second, the following god appears expressing themselves using only mime without music. After showing who he is through action and facial expression, he continues to play a gut. Accordingly, mime of seoul gutpan plays a role to reveal the existence of god. Also, I divided the way of performing mudang gut into language performance and motions and then suggested that mime was mainly used in the motions. I surveyed a gutgeori using mime in the concrete. Through this, I suggested that the shaman used mime, when sending a deadman to the next world in a Jinogi gut. I suggested that mime was utilized repeatedly at the process of repelling the misfortune in a jaesu gut.

Clinical Characteristics and Risk Factors of Acute Kidney Injury in Patients with Glyphosate Poisoning (글리포세이트 중독 환자에서 급성 신손상 발생의 임상 양상과 위험 인자)

  • Purpose: Acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients with glyphosate poisoning has a poor prognosis. This study aimed to predict the risk factors for AKI in patients with glyphosate poisoning at the emergency department (ED). Methods: Clinical data on glyphosate poisoning patients at ED who were older than 18 years were collected retrospectively between January 2013 and December 2019. The clinical characteristics and clinical outcomes of the AKI group in patients with glyphosate poisoning were compared with the non-AKI (NAKI) group. Results: Of 63 glyphosate poisoning patients, AKI was observed in 15 (23.8%). The AKI patients group showed the following: old age (p=0.038), low systolic blood pressure (p=0.021), large amount of ingestion (p=0.026), delayed hospital visits (p=0.009), high white blood cells (WBC) (p<0.001), high neutrophil counts (p<0.001), high neutrophil-lymphocyte (LN) ratios (p<0.001), high serum potassium (p=0.005), low arterial blood pH (p=0.015), and low pO2 (p=0.021), low bicarbonate (p=0.009), and high Poisoning Severity Score (PSS) (p<0.001). AKI patients required hemodialysis, ventilator care (p<0.001, p=0.002), and inotropics (p<0.001). They also showed more intensive care unit admission (p<0.001), longer hospitalization (p<0.001), and high mortality (p<0.001). Logistic multivariate regression analysis showed that high WBCs (OR, 1.223) and increased LN ratios (OR, 1.414) were independently associated with the occurrence of AKI. Conclusion: In patients with glyphosate poisoning at ED, high WBCs and increased LN ratios can help predict the occurrence of AKI.

Anti-coagulation and Platelet Aggregation Inhibitory Activities of the Ethanol Extract of Aerial Bulbils of Dioscorea alata L. (열대마 영여자 추출물의 항응고 및 혈소판 응집저해 활성)

  • Dioscorea alata L, commonly known as "tropical yam" is the most widely consumed yam species among the 650 yam species belonging to the Dioscoreacea family. It is extensively cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions and is a major food source in Africa and India. Also, it is used for medicinal purposes, particularly in China and Taiwan, for its anti-inflammatory properties. In comparison to other yam varieties such as D. batatas or D. opposita, the tropical yam has gained popularity in Korea due to its higher yield per unit area. In this study, the nutritional characteristics and anti-thrombosis activity of the aerial bulbils of D. alata L. tropical yam were compared to those of D. opposita. The results showed that the aerial bulbils of tropical yam exhibited nutritional characteristics and potent anticoagulant activity compared to those of domestic yam varieties. The bulbils extract of tropical yam showed superior anticoagulant activities against thrombin, prothrombin and blood coagulation factors. Furthermore, the bulbils extract of tropical yam exhibited strong platelet aggregation inhibition at 0.25 mg/ml and showed no hemolytic activity up to a concentration of 2.5 mg/ml. These findings suggest the potential development of high-value anti-thrombosis agents utilizing the aerial bulbils of tropical yam.
