  • In this paper, union upper bound on convolutional coded bit error rates (BER) is derived for downlink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) networks. According to the numerical results, for the small network loads, the BER performance with Laplacian decoding metric outperforms the BER performance with Gaussian decoding metric under downlink OFDMA networks with Viterbi decoder.

  • Emerging fiber optic sensor technologies have shown great potential to overcome the difficulties associated with conventional sensors. Fiber optic sensors are immune to EM noise and electric shock and thus can be used in explosion-prone areas. Several kinds of fiber optic sensors have been developed over the last two decades to take advantage of these merits. There have also been many field applications of fiber optic sensors for structural health monitoring as NDT/HDE. However, very few sensors, particularly a load cell have been successfully commercialized. This Paper Presents a load cell using fiber Bra99 gra1ing (FBG) sensors. The shape of the load cell is a link type, and three FBG sensors are used for measuring strains at three different points. Especially, these strains are processed with a differential method in order to exclude common mode noise such as temperature. Moreover, the sensitivity, the linearity and the resolution of the load cell were successfully verified from the experiment of tension test.

Automatic Generation of Character-Specific Roadmaps for Path Planning in Computer Games (컴퓨터 게임에서의 경로 계획을 위한 캐릭터별 로드맵의 자동 생성)

  • Path planning is gaining more weight in computer games and virtual reality as the number of self-moving characters increases. In the roadmap approach, the map of possible paths is built in advance to plan paths for a character, whose advantage is to provide high-quality paths. On the other hand, a disadvantage is that the road map doesn't reflect properties of characters such as their sizes because they move on the same map once the road map is constructed. In this paper we propose an efficient method to build a different road map for each character so that it can use its own map for path-planning. This method is efficient because the whole map is built once by applying the Visibility Graph regardless of the number of characters and walkable paths are incrementally inserted according to the sizes of characters. The effects of using separate roadmaps are demonstrated through simulations and the trade-offs accompanied with these effects are analyzed.

  • As the life cycle of the vehicle become shorter, the method that reduce the development time of new model become more important. In this reason, the development of the simulator that provides similar environment with the actual vehicle load characteristics is increasing. In this paper, the link unit of the 3-axis road simulator is designed and simulated with dynamic analysis software ADMS. and the maximum stress and strain are analyzed for the safety of link and specifications of optimal design using finite element method.

  • Full scale durability test in the laboratory is an essential of any fatigue life evaluation of components or structures of the automotive vehicle. Component testing is particularly important in today's highly competitive industries where the design to reduce weight and production costs must be balanced with the necessity to avoid expensive service failure. Generally, hydraulic road simulator is used to carry out the fatigue test and the vibration test. In this paper, the link unit which is able to realize the 3 element forces such as vertical force, lateral force, and longitudinal force that are applied to the road simulator is designed. Also, the designed link is verified with kinematics and inverse-kinematics. From this results, the designed factor satisfied the maximum stroke so that it satisfied the requirements for 3-axial road simulator.

  • 원격 교육시스템의 구현은 인터넷의 기술의 급격한 발전과 함께 활발하게 연구가 진행 되고 있다. 공학 분야에서 원격 교육시스템을 구현하는데 가장 큰 제약사항은 하드웨어의 제어이다. 본 연구에서는 8051 원격 컴파일 시스템을 구현하였으며, 시스템의 구성은 학습자가 웹에서 8051실습 키트를 직접 제어해보며 학습하도록 할 것이다. 학습자는 C언어와 어셈블리어로 8051제어 소스를 작성하고 작성된 소스 파일을 서버에 업로드 하여 컴파일 및 링크할 수 있다 이 과정을 통해 생성된 실행파일을 서버에 연결되어있는 8051 실습키트에 다운로드하여 실행하도록 구현하였다. 또한, 실링 결과의 확인은 웹 카메라를 통해 학습자의 PC에 영상데이터를 전송하여 8051키트의 동작을 학습자들이 확인하게 된다.

  • The traffic classification is a preliminary and essential step for stable network service provision and efficient network resource management. However, the payload signature-based method has a significant drawback in high-speed network environment that the processing speed is much slower than other method such as header-based and statistical methods. In this paper, We propose the server IP, Port cache-based traffic classification method using application traffic locality to improve the processing speed of traffic classification. The suggested method achieved about 10 folds improvement in processing speed and 10% improvement in completeness over the payload-based classification system.

Sensor-Based Path Planning for Planar Two-identical-Link Robots by Generalized Voronoi Graph (일반화된 보로노이 그래프를 이용한 동일 두 링크 로봇의 센서 기반 경로계획)

  • The generalized Voronoi graph (GVG) is a topological map of a constrained environment. This is defined in terms of workspace distance measurements using only sensor-provided information, with a robot having a maximum distance from obstacles, and is the optimum for exploration and obstacle avoidance. This is the safest path for the robot, and is very significant when studying the GVG edges of highly articulated robots. In previous work, the point-GVG edge and Rod-GVG were built with point robot and rod robot using sensor-based control. An attempt was made to use a higher degree of freedom robot to build GVG edges. This paper presents GVG-based a new local roadmap for the two-link robot in the constrained two-dimensional environment. This new local roadmap is called the two-identical-link generalized Voronoi graph (L2-GVG). This is used to explore an unknown planar workspace and build a local roadmap in an unknown configuration space $R^2{\times}T^2$ for a planar two-identical-link robot. The two-identical-link GVG also can be constructed using only sensor-provided information. These results show the more complex properties of two-link-GVG, which are very different from point-GVG and rod-GVG. Furthermore, this approach draws on the experience of other highly articulated robots.

In this paper, the multi-axis simulator is designed and analyzed by kinematic method. The simulator has a function simulating the 3 load elements; vertical, longitudinal, and lateral force respectively and simultaneously. The result of this paper can be used for developing the multi-axis simulator linkage.

  • 최근 소셜 네트워킹, 멀티미디어 서비스의 사용량이 증가됨에 따라 인터넷의 트래픽은 이전보다 빠르게 증가되고 있다. 이에 링크나 노드의 failure 같은 네트워크 failure 발생은 서비스 이용자들에게 큰 영향을 미치게 된다. 이러한 failure로 부터 빠르게 회복하기 위한 다양한 Fast Reroute scheme들이 제안되었다. 하지만 이러한 Fast Reroute의 Back-path는 특정 링크에게 과도한 트래픽을 유발하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 점을 해결하기 위한 실제적인 Link Cost를 고려한 Load-Balancing기법을 제안한다. 실험결과 평균 degree가 높을수록 대체가능한 경로들이 증가되기 때문에 FIR에 비해 성능이 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다.
