피카소, 고흐처럼 이름만 들어도 알만한 화가들의 작품 활동에 큰 영감을 줬던 몽마르트(Montmartre) 언덕. 예술가들의 거리 몽마르트에 터를 잡은 아르노 라레 쉐프는 화가가 자신의 그림에 혼을 쏟아내듯 자신의 예술작품이나 다름없는 초콜릿과 과자에 열정을 담나내는 젊은 파티시에다. 오늘도 쉼없이 이어지는 그의 행복이야기에 귀를 기울여본다.

`79년도 TMI사고와 `86년도 체르노빌사고는 전인류에게 많은 충격을 주었으며, 원자력발전소의 안전을 강조했던 모든 원전보유국은 입을 다물 수 밖에 없었다. 본고에서는 Harold R. Denton씨가 그동안 미국 원자력규제위원회(NRC)에서 규제업무를 맡고 있던 경험에서 얻은 귀중한 교훈에 대해 기술하고 있다.

지난 8월 25일부터 29일까지 국제원자력기구 (IAEA)는 본부소재지인 오스트리아의 비엔나에서 특별회의를 가졌다. 이 회의에서는 전적으로 소련의 체르노빌원전 4호기 원자로의 4월 사고가 집중토의되었는데, 소련대표는 많은 량의 자료를 공개하였다. 다음은 Nuclear News지의 유럽특파원 Simon Rippon씨가 이 회의에 참석하여 소련측의 발표와 이에 대한 외부 옵서버들의 분석을 취재한 내용이다.

Many information channels have dealt with the radiological consequences of the Chernobyl accident in different voices ever since the time of the accident. Large differences in the data about the amount of released radioactivity, losses of life, environmental effects and economic damage confuse the information receiving group. The intention of this paper is to provide an insight to the consequences of the accident through review of the reports and articles on the given issue and the scientific background. The formal reports reviewed include those from IAEA, EC, OECD/NEA, the governments of the two most-affected countries; Belarus and Ukraine. Much consideration was paid to make the text as plain as possible.

The SAS macro faces program by Friendly (1992) is for Chernoff face analysis, which is one of methods for the visualization representation of multivariate data. In this paper, we examined 18 face features used in the program and presented the modified program depending on the definition of a good face in days present. In addition, a good bank evaluation for 15 domestic banks was performed through Chernoff face analysis based on 11 bank economic indicators representing stability, the consumer satisfaction, soundness, and banks profitability.

This study aims to conduct a big data analysis of public library operations and uses of 16 metropolitan local government of Korea by using the Chernoff face method. This study is the first to use the Chernoff face method for big data analysis of library services in library and information research. The association of variables and human facial features was decided by survey. The study reveals that in general the provincial governments in Korea operate more libraries, invest more budgets, allocate more staff and hold more collections than metropolitan cities. This administration resulted in more use of libraries in provincial governments than metropolitan cities.

SMS사의 특징중의 하나는 수요자의 요구조건을 만족시키는데 있어, 다른 경쟁사에 비해 매우 높은 유연성을 가졌다는 점에 있다. 이를 가능케 하는 것은 생산품목의 다양성 때문이다. 그러므로 SMS는 다양한 품목을 제공하여 전세계에 걸쳐 있는 수요자의 요구를 충족시킬수 있다. 지금까지 SMS는 프랑스 육군에 3천2백대, 동남아시아, 아프리카, 중동, 유럽 및 남미지역등 약 12개국의 육군에 1천2백대를 인도하였다.
