  • I would like to analyze the customers accommodation availability of the provisional 'smart board,' having specific mode and style, as a circulation platform of digital contents with using a statistic model in order to find a way and means to activate legal circulation of convergence individual products. The smart board means a circulation platform for both users' convenience and copyright protection, by being conveniently able to upload personal convergence digital contents or apply various licence to the uploaded contents according to the purpose of use. Under these premises of the smart board, this paper is going to focus on verifying to find out which factors, such as users' profile attributes, contents using behaviors, awareness of licence and etc, influence on the intention of using the smart board of general users by using a logistic regression model.

  • Using the Artificial Neural Network model and Binary Logistic Regression model, this study investigates influence factors on the quality of life in terms of housing environment during the COVID-19 in Seoul. The results show that the lower the satisfaction level of housing policy, the lower the quality of life in the employment field and the lower the quality of residential field. On the other hand, permanent workers and self-employed respondents have experienced improvement in residential quality during the pandemic. A limitation of this study is associated with disentangling the causal relationship using the 'black box' characteristics of ANN method.

  • In this study, we applied a deep neural network model to predict four grades of fine dust $PM_{10}$, 'Good, Moderate, Bad, Very Bad' and two grades, 'Good or Moderate and Bad or Very Bad'. The deep neural network model and existing classification techniques (such as neural network model, multinomial logistic regression model, support vector machine, and random forest) were applied to fine dust daily data observed from 2010 to 2015 in six major metropolitan areas of Korea. Data analysis shows that the deep neural network model outperforms others in the sense of accuracy.

  • Personal credit scoring is an effective tool for banks to properly guide decision profitably on granting loans. Recently, many classification algorithms and models are used in personal credit scoring. Personal credit scoring technology is usually divided into statistical method and non-statistical method. Statistical method includes linear regression, discriminate analysis, logistic regression, and decision tree, etc. Non-statistical method includes linear programming, neural network, genetic algorithm and support vector machine, etc. But for the development of the credit scoring model, there is no consistent conclusion to be drawn regarding which method is the best. In this paper, we will compare the performance of the most common scoring techniques such as logistic regression, neural network, and support vector machines using personal credit data of the financial institution in China. Specifically, we build three models respectively, classify the customers and compare analysis results. According to the results, support vector machine has better performance than logistic regression and neural networks.

  • In this paper, we introduce existing Bayesian methods for high-dimensional sparse regression models and compare their performance in various simulation scenarios. Especially, we focus on the variational Bayes approach proposed by Ray and Szabó (2021), which enables scalable and accurate Bayesian inference. Based on simulated data sets from sparse high-dimensional linear regression models, we compare the variational Bayes approach with other Bayesian and frequentist methods. To check the practical performance of the variational Bayes in logistic regression models, a real data analysis is conducted using leukemia data set.

  • This paper has its purpose on constructing a prediction model of the arrival sequencing strategy which reflects the actual sequencing patterns of air traffic controllers. As the first step, we analyzed a pair-wise sequencing of two aircraft entering TMA from different entering points. Based on the historical trajectory data, several traffic factors such as time, speed and traffic density were examined for the model. With statistically significant factors, we constructed a prediction model of arrival sequencing through a binary logistic regression analysis. With the estimated coefficients, the performance of the model was conducted through a cross validation.

  • We analyzed using logistic to find factors with a mental disorder because logistic is the most efficient way assess risk factors. In this paper, we applied data mining techniques that are logistic, neural network, c5.0, cart and Bayesian network to delirium data. The Bayesian network method was chosen as the best model. When delirium data were applied to the Bayesian network, we determined the risk factors associated with delirium as well as identified the network between the risk factors.

  • We frequently encounter binary data in real life. Logistic, Probit, Cauchit, Complementary log-log models are often used for binary data analysis. In order to analyze binary data, Liu (2004) proposed a Robit model, in which the inverse of cdf of the Student's t distribution is used as a link function. Kim et al. (2008) also proposed a generalized t-link model to make the binary regression model more flexible. The more flexible skewed distributions allow more flexible link functions in generalized linear models. In the sense, we propose a binary data regression model using skewed generalized t distributions introduced in Theodossiou (1998). We implement R code of the proposed models using the glm function included in R base and R sgt package. We also analyze Pima Indian data using the proposed model in R.

  • Land sliding is one of well-known nature disaster. As a part of effort to reduce damage from land sliding, many researchers worked on increasing prediction ability. However, because previous studies are conducted mostly by non-statisticians, previously proposed models were hardly statistically justifiable. In this paper, we predicted the probability of land sliding using the logistic regression model. Since most explanatory variables under consideration were correlated, we proposed the final model after backward elimination process.
