Determination of 105 pesticide residues by GC/MS/MS (GC/MS/MS를 이용한 105종의 잔류농약 분석에 관한 연구)

  • A multi-residual method using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC/MS/ MS) was developed for the analysis of 105 pesticides. This method was tested on lemons, beans and other vegetables. The pretreatment of these pesticides was performed by liquid-liquid partition followed by cleanup with solid phase extraction cartridge (SPE Florisil), after acetonitrile extraction from matrices and sodium chloride (15 g) addition. The recovery ranged from 71.1% to 126.0% except for azinphosmethyl, famoxadone, fenamidone, flufenoxuron and triadimefon in lemons and from 72.5% to 124.5% in bean. In lemon, the limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were 0.001~150 ng/ mL and 0.004~500 ng/mL, respectively.

Effect of Multilayer Edible Coatings on the Lemon Quality Changes during the Storage (Multilayer 식용코팅의 레몬 저장성에 대한 효과)

  • Multilayer edible coatings was applied to lemon with beeswax-hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (BW-HPMC), soybean oil-carboxymethyl cellulose (SBO-CMC), and carnaubawax-shellac-locust bean gum (CW-SL-LBG), respectively. The multilayer was composed of two layers of the same material, but the outer layer only contained vitamins C and E as antioxidants. Coating amounts built on lemon peel were measured to be large in the order of CW-SLLBG> BW-HPMC> SBO-CMC. The coated lemons were stored at 30${^{\circ}C}$ for 12 days. CW-SL-LBG showed the least change during the storage in weight loss, rotten rate, firmness, and browning. Whereas SBO-CMC had the least change in pH, soluble solid amount, and titratable acidity. In a sensory test, CW-SL-LBG was evaluated to be the best in the attributes such as spoilage, glossiness, color, firmness, and flavor. Overall CW-SL-LBG was judged to be the best for multilayerd coating with vitamin C and E on lemon.

Comparison Analysis of Antioxidant Effects from Rutaceae Fruits

  • In this study, we investigated the antioxidants activity by measuring electron donating ability and ABTS radical scavenging ability of the extracts from Rutaceae fruits (citron, grapefruit, lemon, mandarin orange, orange, trifoliate) to evaluate its use as a antioxidants in foods and cosmetics. Rutaceae fruits extract were separated in two parts of whole fruit (pulp, pulp fegment membrane, peel) and peel, dried, and then extracted with 70% ethanol. As a result of comparing the antioxidant effect at the concentration of 10,000 ㎍/mL, the electron donating ability was higher in the dried lemon peel extract (DLPE, 88.15%) and the dried citron whole fruit extract (DCWE, 80.44%), and the ABTS radical scavenging ability was highest in lemon peel and dried peel extract at 94.85% (FLPE) and 92.83% (DLPE). In conclusion, it was confirmed that lemon showed the highest antioxidant effect among the Rutaceae fruits(citron, grapefruit, lemon, mandarin orange, orange, trifoliate), and it was confirmed that the dried peel extract had a significant effect. Therefore it is considered that the dried lemon peel extract has the potential to be used as a natural antioxidant material in food and cosmetics.

Antioxidative Activity and Component Analysis of Fermented Melissa officinalis Extracts (레몬밤 발효추출물의 항산화 활성과 성분 분석)

  • In this study, the antioxidative effects, inhibitory effects on tyrosinase, and component analysis of fermented Melissa officinalis extracts were investigated. The ethyl acetate fraction of fermented extract ($8.38{\mu}g/mL$) showed the most prominent the free radical (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, DPPH) scavenging activities ($FSC_{50}$) of extract/fractions of M. officinalis. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging activities ($OSC_{50}$) of some M. officinalis extracts on ROS generated in $Fe^{3+}$-EDTA/$H_{2}O_{2}$ system were investigated using the luminol-dependent chemiluminescence assay. The ethyl acetate fraction of fermented extract ($0.63{\mu}g/mL$) showed the most prominent ROS scavenging activity. The protective effects of extract/fractions of M. officinalis on the rose-bengal sensitized photohemolysis of human erythrocytes were investigated. The M. officinalis extracts suppressed photohemolysis in a concentration dependent manner ($5\;{\sim}\;75{\mu}g/mL$). The inhibitory effect of M. officinalis extracts on tyrosinase was investigated to assess their whitening efficacy. Inhibitory effects ($IC_{50}$) on tyrosinase of some M. officinalis extracts was 50 % ethanol extract ($365{\mu}g/mL$) < ethyl acetate fraction of fermented extract ($122.43{\mu}g/mL$) < ethylacetate fraction ($94.8{\mu}g/mL$). Fractions of ethyl acetate both from ordinary and fermented M. officinalis extracts showed 2 band in TLC and 2 peak in HPLC (330 nm). In HPLC chromatogram of ethyl acetate fraction, peak 1 (51.64 %) and peak 2 (48.36 %) were identified as caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid in the order of elution time. Also, in HPLC chromatogram of ethyl acetate fraction of fermented extract, peak 1 (4.13 %) and peak 2 (95.87 %) were identified as caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid in the order of elution time. These results indicate that the component and content of ordinary and fermented extracts of M. officinalis are different. And the extract of M. officinalis can be used as an antioxidant.

The Assessment of Odors Using Autonomic Nervous Responses (자율신경계 반응을 이용한 향(香)의 영향 평가)

  • 본 연구에서는 향이 자율신경계에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 100%의 Rose oil bulgarian, Lemon oil misitano, Jasmin abs., Lavender oil france (KIMEX co. Ltd)의 네가지 향을 사용하여 심전도, 피부온도, 피부저항의 생리신호를 측정하였고, 생리신호의 측정과 함께 주관적 설문지의 평가를 통해 생리신호와의 상관성을 살펴보았다. 주관적 평가 중 양극 척도의 긴장/이완에 해당되는 문항의 분석결과 장미>자스민>레몬>라벤더 순으로 피험자들에 의해 장미가 가장 긴장된다는 결과를 나타냈다. 향의 선호도 조사에서는 장미향이 가장 진한 향으로 레몬 향이 가장 좋은 향으로 분석결과가 나왔다. 생리신호 중 평균 R-R 간격의 측정 결과는 장미향에서 가장 긴장도가 높게 나타났으며 이에 따른 주관적 평가 결과 역시 장미향이 긴장도가 높게 나와 생리신호와 주관적 평가의 결과가 상관성을 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었고, 피부온도 결과에서는 평균 R-R 간격에서 긴장도가 가장 높은 장미가 피부온도가 가장 높게 나왔다. 피부저항은 레몬 향이 가장 긴장된 것으로 나온 반면 라벤더가 가장 이완으로 나타났으며 라벤더의 경우 주관적 평가와의 상관성을 가짐을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같이 향이 자율신경계에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 주관적 평가와 생리신호를 동시에 측정하였는데 그 결과 주관적 평가와 생리신호의 상관성을 통해 향이 자율신경계에 어떤 영향을 미치는가를 알 수가 있었다.
