This study is related to determination of the intention to watch a movie, which is affected by various emotional, environmental, and behavioral factors. In case of personal factors, personal taste formed on the basis of previously experienced movie related information affects selection of movies, while environmental factors are affected mostly by residental community experience, cognitive attitude, subjective norms, as well as the view of values. In this study, the determinants on decision to watch movie have been analyzed applying the theory of planned behavior. Taking into consideration that the determination, based on either personal factors or environmental factors, of consuming movie products stars from reasonable information collecting and that movie poster has been the primary source of information on movie products since the inception of the movie industry, this study analyzed tastes of movie watchers and many variables of movie poster format on determination of intention to watch movie. The results from this empirical study indicate that movie poster is effective means of low cost marketing inducing movie watching in terms of consuming minimum time and space with high speed of delivery while satisfying primary interest on the movie product. It is suggested movie posters should be prepared to make appeal to each generation of target consumers and be put on the market as a product of artistic work.

'Time to Deliver"라는 주제로 지난 8월에 제 16회 세계 에이즈 대회가 캐나다 토론토에서 6일간의 일정으로 개최되었다. 이번 대회는 전 세계에서 약 3만명의 정부, 학계 관련 기업, 관련 단체와 감염인이 참여한 사상 최대의 행사이었다. 각계에서 모인 사람들은 자신의 목소리를 내기 위해 회의, 주제발표, 홍보부스 운영, 포스터 전시, 인쇄물 배포와 시위 등 다양한 방법으로 최선을 다하였다. 'Time to Deliver'는 이제는 강력한 행동을 취해야 한다고 하는 것으로서 보다 적극적으로 지원을 전해야 한다는 것이다.

"We Love Galaxies"는 외부은하를 연구하는 국내 대학원생들로 구성된 학술 교류의 장입니다. 저희는 지난 2014년 7월과 2015년 2월에 개최한 1, 2회 워크샵의 성공을 바탕으로, 2015년 7월 1일부터 3일까지 2박 3일간 충남 서천에서 제 3회 We Love Galaxies 워크샵을 개최하였습니다. 총 19명의 대학원생이 참여한 이번 워크샵에서는 기존의 학회/워크샵과는 달리 대학원생들 간의 적극적인 토의를 유도하기 위해 포스터 발표를 중심으로 운영했습니다. 또한 한국천문연구원에 계신 두 분의 박사 연구원을 초청하여 '천문학자로 살아남기'와 '시뮬레이션 결과와 관측자료의 통계적 분석을 비판적으로 해석하기'라는 주제로 강연을 듣는 시간을 가졌습니다. 본 포스터를 통해 이번 제 3회 We Love Galaxies 워크샵의 성과와 피드백을 소개하고 앞으로의 계획에 대해 소개하고자 합니다.

In this paper, we present a method to extract the text lines in poorly structured documents. The text lines may have different orientations, considerably curved shapes, and there are possibly a few wide inter-word gaps in a text line. Those text lines can be found in posters, blocks of addresses, artistic documents. Our method based on the traditional perceptual grouping but we develop novel solutions to overcome the problems of insufficient seed points and vaned orientations un a single line. In this paper, we assume that text lines contained tone connected components, in which each connected components is a set of black pixels within a letter, or some touched letters. In our scheme, the connected components closer than an iteratively incremented threshold will make together a chain. Elongate chains are identified as the seed chains of lines. Then the seed chains are extended to the left and the right regarding the local orientations. The local orientations will be reevaluated at each side of the chains when it is extended. By this process, all text lines are finally constructed. The proposed method is good for extraction of the considerably curved text lines from logos and slogans in our experiment; 98% and 94% for the straight-line extraction and the curved-line extraction, respectively.

The porcelain insulators are important devices, that are used to isolate electrically and hold mechanically in the high-voltage power transmission systems. The faults of the insulators induce very serious problems to the power transmission line. In this paper, we introduce techniques for fault detections of insulators by acoustic radiation noises from them. We measured radiation noises from normal state insulators and fault state insulators. The used insulators were two different type porcelain insulators, a cut out switch, two different type line posters, and a lightning arrester. Each results was compared each other in time domain, frequency domain and filter banks' outputs. We found the possibility of detection of insulators' faults and also suggested techniques for fault detections.

지방자치제 실시 후 지역 축제는 꾸준히 증가하였다. 2014년을 기준으로 봤을 때 1,214개의 축제가 개최되었고, 1억 3,125만 명이 지역 축제를 방문하였다. 이처럼 축제에 대한 접근성은 높아졌으며, 주변에서 흔히 관람하고 직접 체험할 수 있게 되었다. 반면 지역 축제 정보에 대한 접근성은 높지 않았다. 축제에 대한 정보를 확인하려면 지역의 오프라인 홍보, 지역 축제 포스터 또는 각 지자체 홈페이지 등을 통해 정보를 검색해야 했다. 축제에 대한 정보를 효과적으로 전달하기 위해서는 축제형 아카이브(플랫폼)를 개발해야 한다. 축제형 아카이브는 지역 축제를 지역별, 분야별, 주제별 기준을 설정하여 축제에 대한 정보뿐만 아니라 실제 진행되었던 축제의 동영상을 보여줄 수 있는 플랫폼의 역할을 수행할 것이다. 이를 통해 지역 축제에 대한 실질적인 정보를 제공하여 기존의 방문객보다 더 많은 방문객의 방문을 유도할 수 있을 것이다.

Prints in the contemporary art has the radical aspects at not only to maintain the characteristic of printmaking in a field of visual image but also to fulfill and communicate a desire of the public. We can see this from the change of the printmaking forms among the alternation of diverse expression methods and media such as from the line-cut at the Renaissance to colored print process, photography, the beginning of 20th century cartoons, advertisement, art, and graphic poster. From that, we can understand the printmaking as a fluid media, not fixed, has finely accomplished its functions as an act of visual language to smoothly communicate with the individual desire and character than word or language at the complex and various cultural surface. This study is focused on that prints as an avant-garde language in popular culture. Therefore, I have examined the following two aspects. First, with focussing at the specific characters of the graphic posters, I try to define the differences between language and visual language and the effect from it to our emotional perception and behavior with the politic and economic point of view. Second, how has the printmaking art as an fine arts finely accomplished an linguistic action. These are the purpose of this study.

Nous conduisons tous les codes graphiques specifiques d'un genre de la bande dessinee coreenne, sounziang manwha, e la "decorativite". Afin de mieux rendre compte de cette decorativite, nous suivons un chemin qui aborde des divers etats de cette specificite. Etant donne que la decorativite n'est pas originaire, ni propre totalement au genre, nous nous interessons e ses formes differentes dans les genres precedentes : dessin de mode, dessin lyrique, illustration, affiche, shojo manga, etc. Ils nous permettent e voir des ressemblances et des differences dans les styles graphiques. Nous parvenons enfin e comprendre ce que la decorativite en bande dessinee est attachee intimemnt aux traits fictifs et irreels du diegese.

WouldYouLike[우주라이크]는 2009년 천문학 전공 대학생들을 중심으로 탄생한 천문우주과학 대중화를 위해 활동하는 비영리 단체이다. 천문우주과학에 대한 정보를 얻기 힘든 사람들을 위해 쉽게 접할 수 있는 콘텐츠를 제작하여 이를 무료로 배포하고 있다. 2012년 무료 배포용 천문학 잡지 우주라이크 창간호를 시작으로 2017년 현재 11호까지 발간되었으며, 이 잡지는 전국 각지의 대학교 캠퍼스와 천문대 및 과학관의 협조를 통해 배포 중이다. 이러한 오프라인 활동과 더불어 SNS(인스타그램, 페이스북)와 홈페이지를 비롯해 현대인들에게 접근성이 높은 온라인 매체를 적극적으로 활용한 천문학 콘텐츠와 팟캐스트 등을 통해 대중에게 다가가고 있다. 특히 우주라이크 페이스북 페이지의 팔로워 수는 약 35,000명이며, 이는 한국천문연구원 페이스북 페이지의 약 6,000명보다 많은 수치이다. 이는 우주라이크 본연의 목적인 천문학 대중화에 우주라이크가 크게 기여하고 있음을 보여준다. 현재 우주라이크는 상기에 기술한 활동들과 함께 NASA에서 운영하는 APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day)의 한글판 서비스를 공식적으로 번역하여 제공하고 있다. 이 포스터는 국내에서 천문우주과학 대중화의 필요성을 역설하며, 이와 연계해서 우주라이크의 활동 내역과 현재 추진 중인 계획을 소개한다. 그리고 이에 대한 국내 천문학계의 다양한 목소리를 듣고 추후 활동에 반영하고자 한다.
