This study aims to find new solutions to the problem of utilization of materials and techniques represented in the development of modern lighting design. LED is an important component in modern lighting design and pine tree is one of the most popular domestic wood in furniture design in Korea. In this study, design is developed into various types of furniture such as a table, a chest, and a lighting, by researching manufacturing process and examining the use of slicing pine tree. The technique of slicing pine tree is a simple linear arrangement that was traditionally used in wooden furniture in Lee dynasty, with an emphasis on repetitive rhythm. The slicing technology is used to expand the usage of domestic pine tree. The beauty of natural wood is expressed with the transmission of light by applying this technique to the lighting design. It also brings new communication in between artificial lighting and natural wood combining this traditional technique and LED lighting in design. Finally, this study suggests particular value through the convergence of analog and digital by using the traditional wooden technique that keeps natural wood prints and new digital technology by using LED lighting. More discussions and research about this subject are expected continuously through this study.

Video telephony is a representative service in 3G mobile network. And there have been efforts to improve quality of video telephony service in different fields. In Korea, the leading mobile service provider SKTelecom and KTF service the WCDMA network as 3G mobile network. Now, more than a million people is using the network. In this paper, we study about video telephony over WCDMA network. and propose error minimizing algorithm using cross-layer adaptation between physical layer and video codec. We simulated 3G-324M protocol with MPEG-4 video codec, and simulation results show suggested algorithm improve packet transmission rate for improving quality of video telephony service.

In this paper we provide a unified crypto core that integrates lightweight symmetric cryptography and authentication. The crypto core implements a unified 128 bit key architecture of PRESENT encryption algorithm and a new lightweight encryption algorithm. The crypto core also consist of an authentication unit which neglects the use of hashing algorithms. Four algorithms are used for authentication which come from the Hopper-Blum (HB) and Hopper-Blum-Munilla-Penado (HB-MP) family of lightweight authentication algorithms: HB, HB+, HB-MP and HB-MP+. A unified architecture of these algorithms is implemented in this paper. The unified cryptosystem is designed using Verilog HDL, simulated with Modelsim SE and synthesized with Xilinx Design Suite 14.3. The crypto core synthesized to 1130 slices at 189Mhz frequency on Spartan6 FPGA device.

Corrosion fatigue crack propagation behavior of duplex stainless steel weldments in substitute ocean water was investigated to evalulate effects of micro-structural change and residual stresses. Fatigue crack propagation rate was found influenced markedly .alpha./.gamma. phase ratio but little by residual stresses. Fatigue crack propagation rate is higher in the corrosive environment than in room atmosphere. The crack propagation rate estimated by the measurement of striation spacing was higher than that, obtained by crack length measurement in low .DELTK.K region. At hight .DELTK.K region, however, both crack propagation rates were found to be identical.

In this paper, we present a 3D reconstruction method of color volume data for a computerized human atlas. Binary volume rendering which takes the advantages of object-order ray traversal and run-length encoding visualizes 3D organs at an interactive speed in a general PC without the help of specific hardwares. This rendering method improves the rendering speed by simplifying the determination of the pixel value of an intermediate depth image and applying newly developed normal vector calculation method. Moreover, we describe the 3D boundary encoding that reduces the involved data considerably without the penalty of image quality. The interactive speed of the binary rendering and the storage efficiency of 3D boundary encoding will accelerate the development of the PC-based human atlas.

There are several certification systems in agricultural products in Korea. Some examples are organic certificate, GAP certificate, KPGI certificate, Top Fruits/ Rice certificate and so on. The certification systems have been launched to guarantee the quality and safety of agricultural products to consumer. Despite the definite objectives of each certification system, it is said that the certification systems have not been successful to convey the related information to consumers. One of the reasons is that there exist several certificates so make consumers confused. It is also quite true that maintaining and promoting an individual certification system are highly costly from a point of institute's view. This paper proposes a plausible solution to these problems by combining several certificates.

Recently, the biometric recognition technology of veins in different parts of hand is very active. In this paper the image hierarchical slicing provides a way to detect vein patterns. The scanned vein image will be sliced into various thicknesses. We first get the average brightness values of the sliced image and then convert them into curvature where we can detect candidates of the vein. The candidates of the vein are used to do a further analysis. We search all of the vein candidates and analyze them to get the real vein pattern in the overlapping extraction. We propose this novel algorithm to detect the vein pattern from the original image.

Effects of swainsonine (SW: 8${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$-indolizidine-1alpha, 2${\alpha}$, 8${\beta}$-triol from Locoweed) on the cellular and nonspecific immune responses of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) wer e studied in ICR mice. Mice were divided into 4 groups (10mice/group), and LPS was given to each mouse 1 hr after i.p. injection with 3.7mg/kg of SW by i.p. injection twice a week for 14 days at a dose of 2mg/kg. Immune responses of the delayed-type hypersensitivity response (DTH) to sheep red blood cells (s-RBC), phagocytic activity and natural killer (NK) cell activity were evaluated. LPS treatment didn`t affect NK cell activity, phagocytic activity, DTH to s-RBC compared with those in controls, and phagocytic activity of sareoma 180 tumor bearing mice. However, circulating leukocytes were significantly decreased. Combinaton of LPS and SW increased circulating leukocytes significantly compared vath that in LPS alone, and DTH to s-RBC, NK cell activity and phagocytic activities of normal and sarcoma tumor bearing mice were not affected. These findings indicate that SW didn`t affected the cellular immune responses suppressed by LPS but significantly increased circulating leukocytes.

This paper deals with conversion from the STL file to the Slice to the Slice cross-sectional information for Stereolithography. The STL file is widely used for Stereolithography, but it is very difficult to convert STL file into Slice file directly. Because it consists of an ordered list of triangular net without any topological information other than the orientation of each facet. So, The system is accomplished by data flow through several intermediate stages such as Reference. SL1. .SL2L. .SL3. and .SLC file. The data processing is performed in 5 steps: 1) Create a Reference file including common information. 2) Modify STL file within the effective range of SL machine. 3) Calculate a point of intersection between plane equation and line equation. 4) Sort z values in ascending order using quick sort algorithm. 5) Search the adjacent points and formulate a closed loop usingsingly linked linear list. The system is developed by using Borland C++ 3.1 compiler in the environment of Pentium PC, and verified to be satisfactory by making some prototypes of electric household appliances.

컴퓨터 단층촬영(CT)을 활용한 골격근 단면적은 근감소증과 관련된 기능을 평가하는 데 사용된다. 일반적인 근감소증 연구는 요추 3번의 골격근량을 주로 보지만 암 또는 폐절제술과의 상관관계를 예측하기 위한 다양한 연구에서는 흉추 4번, 7번, 8번, 10번, 12번 다양한 수준의 골격근량으로 연구를 진행하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 흉부와 복부 CT 영상에서 근감소증 진단을 위해서 흉추와 요추의 영역별 슬라이스를 검출하기 위해서 CNN 구조의 EfficientNetV2를 전이학습하여 인공지능 모듈을 개발하였다. 인공지능 모듈은 전체 흉부 및 복부 CT 영상에서 Cervical, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, T9, T10, T11, T12, L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, Sacral 총 19 클래스를 검출하도록 하였다. Test 데이터셋을 사용하여 Confusion Matrix와 Grad-CAM으로 모델의 정확도를 시각화하여 보였으며 검증으로 인공지능 모듈의 정확성을 측정하였다. 끝으로 우리가 개발한 다기관 공동연구 지원플랫폼에 적용하여 시각화된 결과를 보였다.
