정보통신부는 지난 2000년부터 IT 연구분야 인력양성사업의 일환으로 전국의 IT분야 대학연구센터 중에서 우수한 센터 32개를 ITRC(Information Technology Research Center)를 선정, 집중적인 지원을 해 오고 있다. 이 사업의 목적은 석,박사급 고급인력이 결집돼 있는 대학의 IT분야 연구역량을 강화해 IT산업 발전에 필요한 핵심 기반기술을 전략적으로 연구하고, 관련 전문이력을 집중 육성하고자 함에 있다.이에 월간 [디지털콘텐츠]는 32개 ITRC가운데 디지털콘텐츠와 관련된 4개 ITRC(아주대 게임애니메이션센터, 연세대 차세대방송기술연구센터, 이화여대 컴퓨터그래픽스/가상현실연구센터, 동신대 멀티미디어컨텐츠연구센터)에 대한 탐방기사를 게재키로 했다. 마지막 순서로 동신대학교 '멀티미디어컨텐츠연구센터'를 취재했다.

디지털 기술이 나날이 발전함에 따라 정지영상 압축 기술의 대표적이라 찰 수 있는 JPEG이 탄생하면서 디지털 임상은 급격한 발전을 거듭해 왔다. 이에 동영상 압축 기술 MPEG이 탄생하였고, MPEG은 1, 2, 4 를 비롯하여 7, 21로 발전을 거듭하고 있다. PVR은 방송을 디지털로 저장하는 기기로써 시청자가 원하는 시간에 원하는 방송을 시청할 수 있게 해 준다. PVR이 많은 컨텐츠를 저장할 수 있게 되자, 사용자는 컨텐츠에 대한 효과적인 검색 및 브라우징을 필요로 하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 컨텐츠를 기술하는 메타데이터를 이용한 의미기반 브라우징 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법에서는 메타데이터에 있는 키워드와 인물정보, 장르, MPEG-7의 color descriptor를 이용한다.

DRM(Digital Rights Management)은 디지털 컨텐츠를 암호화하여 인터넷상에서 안전한 거래를 보장하며, 저작권자의 권리를 보호하는 기술로, 디지털 컨텐츠 유통 문제점에 관한 해결방안을 제시하고 있다. 그러나, 현재 디지털 컨텐츠 유통 주체 상호간 인증을 바탕으로 한 비밀 통신, 통신의 무결성 등을 위한 보안통신은 제대로 이루어지지 않고 있다. 또한, SSL(Secure Socket Layer)은 현재 보안 통신 메커니즘으로 가장 널리 사용되며, PKI기반 암호 통신 메커니즘이기 때문에 안정성이 높게 평가된다. 이에 본 논문은 DRM 유통 시스템에서 보안 통신을 제공하기 위한 최적화된 SSL 모듈을 설계하며 구현을 목적으로 한다.

The cyber university, which authoring systems for digital contents using multimedia technologies ate used for its courses, is highlighted to be a promising alternative for the current off-line education system. As the demand for the authoring system is constantly increasing, many systems, which emphasize the developers' convenience only, are currently used. Since the generated digital contents using these systems are failed to draw the learners' active interaction with contents, the new authoring system is expected to be existed. This paper presents, develops, and implements the new contents authoring system by using programing languages and/or software tools based on the storyboard. The presented, developed, and implemented system mimics the face-to-face education in off-line system, induces the users' active interaction with contents, and the effective evaluation system to the users.

We have several kinds of DRM(Digital Rights Management) solutions which protect and control a content based on the cryptography. The current technology of DRM focuses on the content management in the purchaser. It doesn't consider the content management in the other principles like creator, provider, and distributor and doesn't provide the efficient environments of a content distribution. In this paper, we propose a digital content distribution system which processes a content and metadata with electronic copyright management.

The human knowledge has been integrated mainly through the text documents. The computer technologies changed the way of production and deliverly of the documents from analog to digital. During the paradigm shift, a serious problem must occur due to a large gap between the old contents and newly generated contents. This paper reviews some methods to reduce the gap for the text document image contents.

DRN에서 라이센스는 컨텐츠를 사용할 수 있는 키와 사용규칙을 포함하고 있는 사용권으로 컨텐츠의 사용과 관리를 위해서 필요하다. 이러한 라이센스에 대한 안전성을 보호하기 위해서는 안전한 키 관리 및 분배 메커니즘이 필요하다. DRM에서 컨텐츠 제작자치 저작권을 보호하기 위해서는 안전한 라이센스 획득과 라이센스 사용정보에 대한 보고가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 DRM 시스템에서 저작귄 보호기술을 이용하여 저작권 보호를 제공하는 라이센스 관리 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안한 프로토콜은 암호화를 통한 라이센스 획득과 라이센스 사용에 대한 지속적인 보고로 라이센스의 불법 사용 및 배포를 방지하여 디지털 컨텐츠의 제작자의 저작권을 보호한다.

Recently, digital contents systems have been constructed by means of a Web-based Information Systems(WBIS). However, developers supper from the Web Crisis since there is no systematic methodology for development and maintenance of the WBIS. To partially cope with the problem, we propose web-based business process and navigation modeling methods for efficient restructuring of a WBIS. A Business Process Net model is the business process model. Additionally, system structure model, state transition model, and user interaction model are the navigation models. These models might be useful for development and restructuring of a WBIS which includes digital contents.

미디어 서비스 및 디스커버리 관련 기술 개발은 주로 DTV, 인터넷, 개인 모바일 멀티 미디어 기기 중심의 미디어 서비스가 주를 이루고, 이러한 미디어 서비스들은 홈 네트워크 환경과 융합하여 홈 미디어 서비스의 새로운 서비스를 창출하고 있다. 개인들은 이미 많은 이동형 멀티미디어 기기들을 소유하기 시작했고, 각 기기마다 플레이 가능한 컨텐츠 포맷, 라이선스 구조, 상세정보를 기술하는 정보들이 서로 상이하게 제공되기도 한다. 이런 멀티디미어 환경의 발달과 함께, 개인간 또는 개인이 소유한 기기간 컨텐츠를 공유하고자 하는 요구가 생겨나고, 개인 맞춤을 위한 서비스를 받고자 소유한 개인 컨텐츠 포맷 및 라이선스 파일들 개인정보와 콘텐츠를 기술하는 메타 데이터들은 DRM 정보, 개인의 습성 및 취향 등에 대한 개인 정보를 포함하고 있어 보안 및 보호가 필요하다. 따라서 IPTV 환경에서 이종 DRM이 설치된 기기사이에 컨텐츠 상호 연동 방에 대한 연구를 하였다.
