Augmented Reality Based Tangible Interface For Digital Lighting of CAID System (CAID 시스템의 디지털 라이팅을 위한 증강 현실 기반의 실체적 인터페이스에 관한 연구)

  • With the development of digital technologies, CAID became an essential part in the industrial design process. Creating photo-realistic images from a virtual scene with 3D models is one of the specialized task for CAID users. This task requires a complex interface of setting the positions and the parameters of camera and lights for optimal rendering results. However, the user interface of existing CAID tools are not simple for designers because the task is mostly accomplished in a parameter setting dialogue window. This research address this interface issues, in particular the issues related to lighting, by developing and evaluating TLS(Tangible Lighting Studio) that uses Augmented Reality and Tangible User Interface. The interface of positioning objects and setting parameters become tangible and distributed in the workspace to support more intuitive rendering task. TLS consists of markers, and physical controller, and a see-through HMD(Head Mounted Display). The user can directly control the lighting parameters in the AR workspace. In the evaluation experiment, TLS provide higher effectiveness, efficiency and user satisfaction compared to existing GUI(Graphic User Interface) method. It is expected that the application of TLS can be expanded to photography education and architecture simulation.

  • 본고에서는 디지털 사이니지의 기술을 소프트웨어와 하드웨어로 나누어서 실제 적용된 사례를 바탕으로 그 현황을 알아보고, 해당 기술의 발전 상황을 바탕으로 향후 전망을 살펴볼 것이다. 크게 소프트웨어 부분에서는 제작, 수집, 편집, 편성, 배포, 재생, 증명으로 나누어 살펴볼 것이며 하드웨어는 디스플레이, 플레이어, 인터페이스로 나누어 살펴볼 것이다.

  • "DB분야에서도 정보의 형태와 그 이용기술에 혁명적인 변화의 물결이 닥치고 있다. 전통적인 문자ㆍ수치DB에 이미지, 화상등이 추가되고 검색방법의 사용자 인터페이스도 훨씬 쉽고 편리해지고 있다. 여기에다 CD-ROM등의 디지털 광기술을 이용한 오프라인 DB가 점유율을 확대해오면서 그 신장율은 온라인DB를 훨씬 앞지르고 있는 상황이다. 게다가 컴퓨터에 전화, TV, 비디오 등이 연결되면서 전통적인 미디어 영역이 점차 흐려지는 경향을 보이고 있다.

  • Whereas traditional user interface are well accepted modes of information exchange, the new digital conversion type's of information media is relatively complex and provides new means of transaction with user interface. User interface can be decomposed into two component: the physical structure through which information media is controlled, and the presentation of the content. This research explores the two user interface element have different effect on the adoption of information media and, as such, can influence perceived usefulness, perceived easy of use, and intention of use. The hypotheses have been tested with the survey of 148 end-users examines two interface characteristics factors such as efficiency, error, design, entertainment, accuracy, and vividness, and so on. The research summarized in this paper decomposes the influence of interface elements of physical structure interface and content presentation interface to gain a better understanding of how interface stimulates user's perceived usefulness to adopt the information media.

피지컬 인터페이스의 구현에 관한 연구

  • The input for computer interaction design is very limited for the users to control the interface by only using keyboard and mouse. However, using the basic electrical engineering, the input design can be different from the existing method. Interactive art using computer technology is recently emersed, which is completed by people's participation. The electric signal transmitted in digital and analogue type from the interface controled by people to the computer can be used in multimedia interaction design. The electric circuit design will be necessary to transmit very safe electric signal from the interface. Electric switch, sensor, and camera technologies can be applied to input interface design, which would be alternative physical interaction without computer keyboard and mouse. This type of interaction design using human's body language and gesture would convey the richness of humanity.

  • By the advent of an era of digital convergence, the user-friendly DTV graphic user interface (GUI) techniques become very important because of the explosive consumption of DTV receiving modules. This paper describes the design and implementation of GUI of menu-driven type for the operation of HDTV MPEG module. The designed GUI is convenient and user-friendly. Main menu is created by forming a new window and is located on the top area of the window in the structure of 1 by 3 matrix. Thus main menu, sub-manu, and lower-level menu can be displayed on a screen. The menu-driven DTV GUI was acomplished by using new styles and icons.

  • The past interactive art was only attempted through interdisciplinary study of art and science. As it goes to the digital age, however, the artistic methods based on digital technology have been gradually increasing in combination with other media in various ways. This paper analyzes how spectators' individual selection of viewing-route increases the interaction between spectators and interactive art work by focusing on $\ulcorner$Meta 4Saisons$\lrcorner$. In the process of route selection, each spectator selects his/her own viewing-route almost different from the others', respectively. This individual viewing-route makes each spectator placed in a position of individual interaction, thus leading him/her to the experience of various feelings through the act of immersing in the interactive art interface.
