A Platform Providing Interactive Signage Based on Edge-cloud Cooperation (엣지-클라우드 협업 기반 인터랙티브 사이니지 제공 플랫폼)

  • Advances in IoT data analysis technology have made it easier to analyze situation and provide interactive services based on the context. Most of digital signage application have been used to provide information uni-directionally, but in the future it will evolve to provide personalized content according to the individual user situation and responses. However, it is not easy to modify or apply the existing interactive digital signage platforms due to their hardware dependency. The proposed platform is modularized by dividing main functions into two, the cloud and the edge, so that advertisement resources can be easily generated and registered. Thus, interactive advertisement can be rendered in a timely manner based on sensor analysis results. At the edge, personal data can be processed to minimize privacy issues, and real-time IoT sensor data can be analyzed for quick response to the signage player. The cloud is easier to access and manage by multiple users than edge. Therefore, the signage content generation module improves accessibility and flexibility by handling advertisement contents in the cloud so that multiple users can work together on the cloud platform. The proposed platform was developed and simulated in two aspects. First is the provider who provides the signage service, and second is the viewer who uses the content of the signage. Simulation results show that the proposed platform enables providers to quickly construct interactive signage contents and responses appropriately to the context changes in real-time.

  • 센서/외부사건 연동을 지원하는 인터랙티브 디지털 사이니지(Interactive Digital Signage)가 활발히 전개되고 있다. 그런데, 현재 전개되고 있는 대부분의 인터랙티브 사이니지 시스템은 정해진 인터랙션에만 맞추어 설계되어 지원되기 때문에, 추가적인 인터랙션 기능이 요구되는 경우에 재프로그래밍하여야 한다. 다양한 센서 입력, 외부사건 발생 등에 대한 반응을 유연하게 지원하는 데 있어서 규칙엔진 지원이 유용하다. 본 논문에서는 규칙 메타데이터 변환 및 이의 규칙엔진과의 동기화 방안을 제시하고, 이를 활용하여 다양한 센서/외부사건 연동 인터랙션을 유연하게 지원하는 규칙엔진 기반 인터랙브 기지털 사이니지 시스템의 설계 및 구현을 보고한다.

  • There is a Growing Interest in Motion Recognition for Recognizing Human Motion in Camera Images. As a Result, Researches are Being Actively Conducted to Control Digital Devices with Gestures at a Long Distance. The Interface Using Gesture can be Effectively Used in the Digital Signage Industry Where the Advertisement Effect is Expected to be Exposed to the Public in Various Places. Since the Digital Signage Contents can be Easily Controlled through the Non-contact Hand Operation, it is Possible to Provide the Advertisement Information of Interest to a Large Number of People, Thereby Providing an Opportunity to Lead to Sales. Therefore, we Propose a Digital Signage Content Control System Based on Hand Movement at a Certain Distance, which can be Effectively Used for the Development of Interactive Advertizing Media.

  • It has recently been combined with advanced technologies such as AR and VR, and its application range is expanding to various forms of smart signage. However, until now, digital signage service that reaches us is installed in many floating populations such as bus stops, elevators, and banks and is used in the form of providing news, weather, and advertisements. In addition, large companies, government offices, and outdoor advertising companies occupy the market. The use of such services in small and medium-sized businesses and small retail stores is costly and expensive to manage. Also, it is difficult to generalize the market because services and solutions are being deployed in the market in the form of top-down. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed a digital signage system for transmitting a remote video advertisement that uses a show window in front of the store as a beam project screen for small retail stores, and can remotely set and manage and update it in OSGi service platform.

  • In recent years, the advance on the high-end converging technology has improved to the changes on digital signage technology in many ways. Digital signage has to be designed to give information through systemed structure among the constituent for developing the information delivery responding to the environmental conversion, not feeding user information. Therefore, this paper proposes a smart contents platform which supplies various from of digital signage contents. In the digital signage circumstance, the smart contents platform is a way for an effective information transmission, game and the advertising interface by recognizing user interaction and the environmental information. This platform is composed of base hardware, middleware and middle device. Each component module is managed by the smart contents platform. Furthermore, it serves various live contents experiences via gathering and analyzing user and environmental information with linking various sensors and devices. It is a new way of information delivery which serves contents producing and providing circumstances in parallel.

  • This paper proposes a new personalized mobile advertising service using a smartphone connected with a digital signage which is increasingly common for out-of-home advertising. The advertising contents can be transferred with their metadata to a digital signage. Then, the signage delivers only metadata to smartphones in close proximity of it. Based on the user's preference, an application on a smartphone stores advertising metadata and publishes a personalized advertising e-catalog automatically. A smartphone user can browse, edit and share it with friends. In the view of extension of the reach of the advertising contents of various N-Screen devices including a digital signage and a smart TV to a smartphone and supplying personalized advertising data, this advertising model will be very beneficial and commercialized in the near future.

A Study on Realism of a Digital Signage using 3D Hologram (3D홀로그램을 활용한 디지털 사이니지의 사실감)

  • It is expected that if a viewer feels the higher realism, it will increase efficiency at 3D hologram. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of the evaluation factors on realism for digital signage using 3D holograms. For empirical analysis, the evaluation factors were derived and built up hypothesis(The evaluation factors of digital signage using 3D holograms will affect the realism). As a result of the experiment, Hypothesis 1 (Social presence) and 3 (Harmony with the space) were adopted while Hypothesis 2 (Graphic's elaboration) was rejected. Finally, research has shown that in order to improve the realism of digital signage using 3D holograms, the contents should be produced in consideration of presence so that the viewers could feel as if they were actually inside of contents rather than expressed extremely well made higher image resolution. Hence, the 3D hologram contents should be installed in a place where it would fit well with the space around it.

  • 최근 디지털 사이니지의 가격의 하락과 기술의 발달로 유명 관광지에서 정보전달을 위해 아날로그형 간판에서 디스플레이 등을 사용한 디지털 사이니지로 전환하고 있으며, 그 중 세로형 디지털 사이니지인 키오스크를 활용한 간판이 증가하고 있다. 하지만 키오스크의 경우 보통 내장되어 있는 콘텐츠만을 제공하는 경우가 많아 콘텐츠를 관리하고 변경하기 위하여 불가피하게 인력과 시간이 소요되며, 원격에서 콘텐츠 제어가 가능하더라도 콘텐츠를 제어하는 동안 리소스 문제로 인해 키오스크의 사용이 중단될 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 독립형 키오스크에서 콘텐츠를 표출하고 있으며 동시에 원격에서 콘텐츠를 제어/관리 할 수 있는 비동기식 콘텐츠 제어 기법에 대하여 제안하고자 한다.

  • 디지털 사이니지는 생활 속에서 소비자들과 소통할 수 있는 디지털 매체로서 사용자와의 양방향 커뮤니케이션이 가능하고, 활용범위가 다양하기 때문에 효과적인 광고 매체로서 활용되고 있다. 최근에는 고화질의 디스플레이가 스마트폰과 센서를 이용한 사용자 맞춤형 기술로 개발되면서 스마트한 형태의 디지털 사이니지로 변화하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 소비자의 관심과 선호 정보에 기반한 데이터를 수집하고 이를 바탕으로 소비자에게 맞는 콘텐츠 및 광고를 제공하기 위한 기술을 개발함으로서 향후 점점 확대되고 있는 디지털 사이니지 시장에 필요한 고객 참여형 정보제공 기술 개발에 기여하고자 한다.

  • 최근 디지털 사이니지 시장은 정방형 디스플레이로 콘텐츠를 표출하던 초기와 달리 다양한 형태와 크기를 가진 비정형 사이니지를 배치하여 표출하는 기술에 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 디스플레이의 회전에 따라 변하는 비정형 사이니지 시스템의 구조를 제시한다. 자이로 센서의 출력 값을 입력으로 받아 기울어진 각도를 계산하고, 극좌표계의 특성을 이용하여 회전 각도에 따라 네 꼭짓점의 위치가 가변되는 영상을 영상좌표계로 변환하여 회전형 디스플레이 사이니지로 표출할 수 있다.
