화상처리 기법을 이용한 디버링 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study of Deburring System Using The Image Processing Technique)

  • Burr is a projected part of finished workpiece. It is unavoidable and undesirable by-product of most metal cutting or shearing process. Also, it must be removed to improve the fit of machined parts, safety of workers, and the effectiveness of finishing operation. But deburring process Is one of manufacturing processes that have not been successfully automated, so deburring automation is strongly needed. This paper focused on developing a basic algorithm to find edge of workpiece and match two different image data for deburring automation which includes automatic recognition of parts, generation of deburring tool paths and edge/comer finding ability by analyzing the DXF drawing file which contains information of part geometry. As an algorithm fur corner finding, SUSAN method was chosen. It makes good performance in finding edge and corner in suitable time. And this paper suggested a simple algorithm to find matching point between CCD image and drawing file.

전해-자기 복합 가공을 이용한 마이크로 채널 디버링공정 최적화 (A Study on the Optimization of Deburring Process for the Micro Channel using EP-MAP Hybrid Process)

  • Magnetic abrasive polishing is one of the most promising finishing methods applicable to complex surfaces. Nevertheless this process has a low efficiency when applied to very hardened materials. For this reason, EP-MAP hybrid process was developed. EP-MAP process is expected to machine complex and hardened materials. In this research, deburring process using EP-MAP hybrid process was proposed. EP-MAP deburring process is applied to micro channel, thereby it can obtain both deburring process and polishing process. EP-MAP deburring process on the micro channel was performed. Through design of experiment method, error of height in this process according to process parameter is analyzed. When the level 1 parameter A(magnetic flux density) and level 2 parameter B(electric potential), C(working gap) and level 3 parameter D(feed rate) are applied in the deburring process using EP-MAP hybrid process, it provides optimum result of EP-MAP hybrid deburring process.

  • 본 연구는 마이크로 머시닝을 적용한 유동채널가공에서 버의 발생과 제거에 관한 연구이다. AISI316 스테인리스강의 마이크로 유동채널가공은 마이크로 밀링과 자기 디버링을 결합하여 실시하였다. 먼저 마이크로 밀링으로 유동채널을 가공하였고, 가공조건에 따라 마이크로 채널주변에 미소 버가생성됨을 확인하였다. 미소 버를 제거하기 위해서 자기 디버링을 행하였다. AISI316 스테인리스강은 비자성체로 자기연마에 큰 영향을 미치는 자속밀도가 매우 낮은 금속이다. 본 연구에서는 공작물의 자속밀도를 향상시키기 위해서 자기 테이블을 개발하여 이를 자기연마 디버링에 적용하였고, 주사전자현미경(SEM)과 표면형상기로 자기 디버링에 의한 버의 제거효과를 측정하였다.

자기 디버링을 이용한 복합 미세패턴의 형상 정밀도 향상 (A Study on Accuracy Improvement of Dual Micro Patterns Using Magnetic Abrasive Deburring)

  • 최근, 산업에서는 미세패턴의 효과가 입증됨에 따라 미세패턴에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나, 이러한 연구들은 단일 패턴에 집중되어있으며, 복합 미세패턴의 제작 및 디버링에 관한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 원통형 공작물에 복합 미세패턴을 제작하고, 자기 디버링을 이용하여 디버링을 실시하였다. 또한, 반응표면법을 이용하여 패턴의 높이에 대한 예측모델을 도출하고, 자기 디버링 공정을 최적화하였다. 그 결과, 패턴의 높이에 대한 예측값과 실험값을 비교하였을 때, 평균적으로 7%의 오차가 발생하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 검증실험을 통하여 형상 정밀도가 우수한 복합 미세패턴의 제작이 가능하고, 예측모델이 신뢰성이 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • Surface and edge finishing processes are important technological operations of in parts machining. Quality of the finished parts directly affect the performance of the whole product. Especially, edge quality, which depends on burr control, is extremely important. Burrs are undesirable projections of the material beyond the edge of the workpiece. A number of deburring processes have been developed such as barreling, brushing, chemical methods etc. But, there are only few publications in the area of applying ultrasonics to deburring. When ultrasonic vibration propagates in the liquid medium, a large number of bubbles are formed. These bubbles generate an extremely strong force, which can be used to remove burrs. Cavitation is used as a term to describe the erosion of parts caused by the action of cavities in liquid. The object of this study is to analyze the effects of ultrasonic cavitation in the deburring process. For this purpose, we introduce a new ultrasonic cavitation method, which efficiently removes the burrs. Experimental parameters to verify the deburring effects of ultrasonic cavitations are ultrasonic power, amplitude, distant of the transducer from the workpiece, deburring time and abrasive. It has been shown that deburring with ultrasonic cavitation in water is effective to burrs.

브러시 공정을 이용한 변속기 밸브바디의 효율적인 디버링 방법 개발 (Development of Efficient Brush Deburring Process for Valve Body of Auto Transmission)

  • The cleanability of machine parts is becoming increasingly important in the industrial field. In particular, cleanability is the most important factor in hydraulic products. The burr and chips are dominant factors of cleanability. If the burrs are not removed completely before the beginning of the machining stage, this will cause many problems, such as scratches and operation failure. Due to the complexity of the valve body itself, it is very difficult to use common deburring tools. In this study, a brush-like deburring tool was suggested and verified as a proper tool for removing the burrs and forming a proper edge shape through a real experiment. Various kinds of brush materials and process conditions were tested for proper deburring of the valve body. It was shown that the suggested method was successful for valve body deburring.

IDC장치에 대한 공압시스템의 모델링에 관한 연구 (A Study on Modeling of Pneumatic System for an IDC Device)

  • An intelligent deburring control (IDC) device is used to control the constant force for a deburring tool mounted on the end-effector of a robotic arm. This device maintains a constant contact force between the deburring tool and the workpiece in order to provide a good deburring performance. In this paper, we build a mathematical model in Matlab/Simulink to estimate the force control mechanism of the pneumatic system for the IDC device. The Simulink blocks are built for each separate part and are linked into an integrated simulation system. Such a model also relies on the effects of the flow rate through the valve, air compressibility in the cylinder, and time delay in the pressure valve. The results of the simulation are compared to a simple experiment in which convenient math modeling is performed. These results are then used to optimize the mechanical design and to develop a force control algorithm for the pneumatic cylinder.

구멍가공 시 경사진 출구면에 발생한 버의 효율적 제거를 위한 디버링 공구의 공구경사각과 강성의 결정 (Determination of Rake Angle and Tool Stiffness to Efficiently Remove Drilling Burrs at the Inclined Exit Surface)

  • In machining operations, a burr is an undesirable material formed by plastic deformation in a workpiece. With the ongoing industrial developments, it has become an important issue to efficiently remove burrs. Several deburring methods have been developed to remove specific burrs that require special machining. However, to remove burrs formed while machining at the CNC machining center, deburring tools must be developed. In a previous study, a new deburring tool was developed by the authors. In this study, the influence of the rake angle and stiffness of the new deburring tool was analyzed to improve performance. The theoretical model was driven considering the rake angle and stiffness, and experiments were carried out to validate the model. Especially, conditions based on the designed rake angle and stiffness to effectively remove burrs, which is difficult, at the exit surface were suggested.

  • This paper presents a method of controlling contact force for deburring tasks. The cope with the nonlinearities and time-varying properties of the robot and the environment, a neural network control theory is applied to design the contact force control system. We show that the contact force between the hand and the contacting surface can be controlled by adjusting the command velocity of a robot hand, which is accomplished by the modeling of a robot and the environment as Mass-Spring-Damper system. Simulation results are shown.

  • In this study, a vision system with image processing method have been introduced to find the edge radius of curvature. It was applied to inspect the edge quality of the deburring process product with brush grinding. Size of data was found to be critical in calculating the radius of curvature. Results using laser measurement system were compared.
