Experiments of dimethyl ether autothermal reforming optimization (디메틸에테르(DME) 자열개질 운전조건 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • Dimethyl ether (DME) is an attractive fuel as a hydrogen carrier for mobile PEMFC applications. However, its reforming technologies are rarely studied especially by using autothermal reforming (ATR) method. This work explored the impact of operating conditions to the performance of DME ATR. Temperature, Steam to carbon ratio(SCR), Oxygen to carbon ratio(OCR) and Gas hourly space velocity(GHSV) were considered as the operating conditions. As results, conversion efficiency was increased as the temperature increased, but saturated around $700^{\circ}C$. There was no significant effect of SCR on conversion efficiency, but high SCR led reactions in endothermic manner. High OCR substantially suppressed conversion efficiency, but it helped to sustain the temperature by stimulating exothermic reactions. Conversion efficiency was decreased as GHSV increased. The optimized operating conditions was suggested: $700^{\circ}C$, SCR of 1.5, OCR of 0.45 and GHSV below 15000/h and conversion efficiency was ~85% at the conditions.

  • 도시가스, LP 가스, 가솔린 등의 수증기 개질의 반응온도가 $700^{\circ}C$이상의 고온에서 이루어지는 것에 비해 DME 수증기 개질의 반응온도는 $400^{\circ}C$ 이하의 낮은 온도에서 이루진다는 점에서 우수하다. 또한 황 성분을 함유하지 않기 때문에 원료로부터 탈황 과정이 필요 없다. 특히 DME 수증기 개질의 경우 반응온도가 낮은 것과 개질 촉매가 일반적으로는 Cu 계 촉매이기 때문에 도시가스 등의 개질장치와 달리 CO 변성 장치가 불필요하다. 이 때문에 수소제조를 위해 개질장치가 소형화 가능하고 연료전지 자동차로의 탑재가 용이하여 가능성이 높다 개질장치가 소형화 가능한 것으로 메탄올의 수증기 개질이 있지만 메탄올은 독성이 있다는 점이 문제시되고 있다. 그 점에서 메탄올의 수증기 개질 보다 반응 온도는 다소 높게 되지만 독성 없는 DATE는 기존의 LP가스 인프라를 이용할 수 있는 ME는 특히 우수한 수소제조를 위한 원료이고 수소저장체로 사료된다. 본 연구에서는 가능성 높은 촉매를 사용하여 DME로부터 수소 전환율, 수소 생성속도와 양에 대한 실험실적 결과를 고찰하고자 수행하였다

Phase Behavior on the Binary and Ternary System of Poly(propyl acrylate) and Poly(propyl methacrylate) with Supercritical Solvents (초임계 용매를 포함한 Poly(propyl acrylate)와 Poly(propyl methacrylate)의 이성분 및 삼성분계에 관한 상거동)

  • High pressure phase behavior data for poly(propyl acrylate) and poly(propyl methacrylate) with supercritical $CO_2$, ethylene, propane, butane, propylene, 1-butene, dimethyl ether, and $CHClF_2$ were measured in the temperature range from $23^{\circ}C$ to $186^{\circ}C$ and at pressures up to 2,400 bar. The cloud point were obtained at dissolved pressure below 2,070, 1,400, 1,880, 450, 2,200, 250, and 150 bar for poly(propyl acrylate) in supercritical $CO_2$, ethylene, propane, propylene, butane, 1-buthen, and dimethyl ether, respectively. The temperature range is $23-175^{\circ}C$. The poly(propyl methacrylate) does not dissolve in $CO_2$ at temperature of $240^{\circ}C$ and pressure 2,900 bar. The poly(propyl methacrylate)-propane, poly(propyl methacrylate)-butane, poly(propyl methacrylate)-propylene, poly(propyl methacrylate)-1-butene, and poly(propyl methacrylate)-$CHClF_2$ systems were dissolved at the pressures less than 2,390 bar, below 2,100 bar, below 570 bar, below 310 bar, below 300 bar, and below 170 bar, respectively. The temperature range shows from 40 to $186^{\circ}C$. The phase behavior of between binary poly(propyl acrylate)-$CO_2$ and poly(propyl acrylate)-dimethyl ether system were measured from upper critical solution temperature region to lower critical solution temperature region with added dimethyl ether concentrations of 5, 15 and 50 wt%.

  • The curing acceleration of epoxy/amine system was investigated by using differential scanning calorimeter(DSC), The epoxy, diglycidylether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) was cured with methylene dianiline (MDA) with or without accelerators. Two kinds of accelerators were tested for the study ; tris(dimethylaminomethyl)phenol (DMP - 30) and 3 - (3,4 - dichlorophenyl)-1, 1-dimethylurea (DIURON). Heats of reaction and glass transition temperatures ($T_g$) of the cured epoxy system were analyzed by DSC along with the estimation of activation energy by the dynamic DSC studies. It was found that DMP - 30 is more effective accelerator than DIURON which showed faster curing and lower activation energy.

  • The present study is numerically investigated for the high pressure effects on the vaporization process of the DME droplet. The evaporation rate of DME droplets is about twice that of dodecane droplets at the same chamber condition. The DM droplet vaporization characteristics is parametrically studied for the wide range of the operating conditions encountered with the high pressure combustion process.

  • 연료로서의 DME 디메틸에테르(화학식 CH -O-CH ,DME)는 당초 가정용 캔 스프레이 등 분사 약제인 프레온의 대체 물질로 사용되기 시작했다. 그 후 양호한 압축 착화성이나 무연 연소하는 성질을 가지는 등 디젤 엔진의 연로로서 LP 가스와 동등한 증기압을 가져 LP가스의 대체연료로서 현재 전 세계에서 활발히 연구개발이 이뤄지고 있다. DME의 재료는 천연가스, 석탄, 바이오매스 등 다양한 자원에서 제조가 가능한데 이들로부터 합성가스(CO,H )를 추출.합성해 제조한다. 이것은 경제규모에 미달하는 부존자원의 유효한 이용이나 자원의 다양화에도 연결되기 때문에 차세대 연료로서 주목받고 있다. 천연가스로부터 저가로 대량 생산이 가능한 직적법이나 메탄올을 탈수해 제조하는 간접법 등 제조 기술도 확립되어 있다.

  • The diesel engine is one of the most effective transport options available in all sizes and covering a wide range of applications. But, many researchers developing the diesel engine are facing tough challenges in view of the increasingly lower emissions standards. Thus, this study will explore the possible fuel additive technology to further reduce the emissions from the IDI diesel engine. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of oxygenated fuels on the exhaust emissions and to attain a better trade-off relation between smoke and NOx in four cylinder diesel engine. Experiments were conducted with oxygenated fuels as an effective way to improve the combustion efficiency. Some of oxygenated fuel(Diglyme and DEE) were added to the conventional diesel fuel which had no an oxygen content. Also, EGR was adopted for reducing NOx without any strong adverse effects on other exhaust emissions. This study concluded that exhaust emissions in diesel engine could be reduced by adding the oxygenated fuels which had lower boiling point, and the combustion efficiency was also improved as the oxygen content in fuel increased.
