Multiple Scattering of Elastic SH Waves by Randomly Distributed Ciecular Cylinders : Characterization of Dynamic Properties of FRC (랜덤하게 분포한 원형 실린더에 의한 SH 탄성파의 다중산란 : 섬유강화 복합재료의 동특성파악)

  • The propagation of coherent time-harmonic elastic SH waves in a medium with random distribution of cylindrical inclusions is studied for characterizing the dynamic elastic modulus and the attenuation property of fiber-reinforced composite materials. A multiple scattering theory using the single scattering coefficients in conjunction with the Lax's quasicrystalline approximation is derived and from which the dispersion relation for such medium is obtained. The pair-correlation functions between the cylinders which are needed to formulate the multiple scattering interaction between the cylinders are obtained by Monte Carlo simulation method.From the numerically calculated complex wavenumbers, the propagation speed of the average wave, the coherent attenuation coefficient and the effective shear modulus are presented as functions of frequency and area density.

  • Dynamic rock property is one of most important parameters in design of earthquake-resistant structures. In this study, free-free resonant column test has been conducted to obtain dynamic Young's modulus, dynamic shear modulus, and damping ratio among dynamic properties with granite specimen of Chungnam Yeongi area. The dynamic properties obtained from this test were compared with the physical properties from static rock tests, and their relationship has been analyzed. From our study, it has been concluded that the dynamic Young's modulus and the dynamic shear modulus are linearly proportional to the elastic wave velocity. And also the damping ratio has been identified to be in non-linear inverse proportion to the elastic wave velocity.

  • 이암 및 셰일은 점토를 함유하고 있어 풍화작용을 받을 경우 공학적 성질이 급격히 변화하여 강도 저하, 내구성저하현상 및 토사와 유사한 거동을 보이는 등 토목공사에 위험한 요소가 되고 있다. 풍화된 시료엔 대한 실험용 시료 가공이 어렵고 적용 가능한 실험법이 적어 공학적 특성이나 거동을 정량적으로 파악하는 기법이 다른 암종에 비해 극히 제한된다. 현재까지 강도측정과 같은 일반적인 물성의 단순측정보다는 내구성을 분석하는 슬레이킹 내구성 시험 (Slake durability test), Modified Jar test, 팽창율 측정시험 (Swelling test) 등의 정량화 시험법이 주로 사용되고 있으며 국내 현장에서도 적용을 권장할 수 있다. 이러한 실험치의 해석에서 단일 실험치 (예: 팽창율)만으로 지질공학적 특성을 파악하는 경우 잘못된 판단을 할 수도 있으므로, X선 회절분석시험 (XRD: X-Ray Diffraction Test), TG-DTA분석, 주사전자현미경 (SEM: Scanning Electron Microscope) 이미지 분석, 투수계수 측정실험 등도 함께 수행하여 실험결과를 종합적으로 해석하는 것이 바람직하다.

  • 본 논문에서는 대표적인 비선형 동특성을 가지는 실제 헬리콥터의 회전 및 자세 운동을 근사화한 모형 헬리콥터의 시스템을 소개하고 이 시스템의 정지 자세 제어를 위하여 WAVENET 제어기와 PID 제어기를 설계하였으며, WAVENET의 신경망 연결 가중치(weight) 및 웨이브렛의 신축 및 이동변수와 PID 제어기의 최적 이득 계수를 GA를 사용하여 조정되도록 하였다. 그리고 과도 응답 특성이 우수한 WAVENET 제어기와 정상 상태 특성이 우수한 GA-PID 제어기를 Hybrid 형태로 구성한 Hybrid GA-PID WAVENET 제어기를 비선형 시스템인 모형 헬리콥터 시스템에 적용하여 제안한 제어기 설계 알고리즘의 유효성과 우수성을 입증하고자 한다.

Robust Nonlinear Predictive Control of Underwater Wall-Climbing Robot (수중벽면 주행로봇에 대한 강인한 비선형 예측제어기 설계)

  • 본 논문에서는 강인한 비선형 예측제어기를 개발하여 연구용 원자로 벽면검사를 위한 수중로봇에 적용하여 보았다. 비선형 예측제어기는 먼저 적절한 함수 확장을 이용하여 시스템의 미래 출력 값을 예측하고, 예측값과 설정치와의 차이를 최소화시키는 제어입력을 구하여 시스템에 인가한다. 이러한 제어기에 의한 폐회로 동특성은 목적함수가 상태변수로 이루어진 경우는 항상 안정한 특성을 보이고 목적함수가 출력변수으로 이루어진 경우는 상대 계수가 4이하인 경우에 안정한 특성을 보인다. 이 제어기는 기존의 비선형 제어기가 적용 불가능한 시스템에도 적용 가능한 장점을 가지고 있다. 시스템의 불확실성이 큰 경우, 제어 안정도 및 제어 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 감독제어를 비선형 예측제어기에 포함시켰다. 이러한 제어기를 수중 벽면 주행로봇에 대한 모사실험에 적용한 결과 제어기의 강인함과 제어 성능 향상을 볼 수 있었다.

Hydraulic Characteristics of Flows over a Weir (보 월류 흐름의 수리적 특성)

  • 보를 월류하는 흐름은 유량에 따라 상이한 흐름특성을 보인다. 즉, 유량이 증가함에 따라 사류 (supercritical flow), 완전도수 (complete hydraulic jump), 수중도수 (submerged hydraulic jump), 그리고 잠긴흐름 (plunge pool)으로 천이한다. 각 흐름영역에 따른 하상전단응력의 변화는 보의 물받이와 하상보호공을 설계하는데 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 계산유체동역학을 이용하여 보를 월류하는 흐름을 수치모의하여 각 흐름의 수리적 특성을 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 Flow3D를 이용하여 RANS 방정식을 수치해석 하였으며, 난류모형으로 RNG $k-{\epsilon}$ 모형을 이용하였다. 수치모의를 통하여 각각의 흐름에 대하여 평균유속, 하상전단응력, 그리고 흐름저항계수의 종방향 분포를 제시하였다.

Revaluation of Inelastic Structural Response Factor for Seismic Fragility Evaluation of Equipment (기기의 지진취약도 평가를 위한 구조물 비탄성구조응답계수의 재평가)

  • There are a lot of equipment related to safety and electric power production in nuclear power plants. The structure and equipment in NPPs were generally designed considering a high safety factor to remain in the elastic zone under earthquake load. However it is needed to revaluate the seismic capacity of the structure and equipment as the magnitude of earthquake was recently increased. In this study the floor response due to the nonlinear behaviors of structure was analyzed and the inelastic structural response factor was calculated by the nonlinear time history analysis. The inelastic structural response factor was calculated by the EPRI method and the nonlinear analysis method to realistically evaluate the seismic fragility for the equipment. According to the analysis result, it was represented that the inelastic structural response factor was affected by the natural frequency of equipment, the location of equipment and the dynamic property of structure.

  • The dynamic moduli of asphalt concrete are very important for the analysis and the design of asphalt pavement systems. The dynamic modulus master curve is usually represented by a sigmoidal function. The Ramberg-Osgood model was widely used for fitting of normalized modulus reduction curves with strain of soils in soil dynamic fields. The master curves were obtained by both sigmoidal functions and modified Ramberg-Osgood model for the same dynamic modulus data set, the fitting abilities of both methods were excellent. The coefficients in sigmoidal function are coupled. Therefore, it is not possible to separate the characteristics of the master curve with absolute value and shape. However, the each fitting coefficient in the Ramberg-Osgood model has a unique effect on the master curve, and the coefficients are not coupled with each other.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the cause and countermeasure for track problems in the high speed railways due to the irregularly increasing dynamic wheel loads running over the speed range of 300 km/h. It has long been recognised that the track problems encountered on high speed railways are associated mainly with vertical dynamic loads which are related to the unsprung mass of vehicles and track irregularities. In addition to these parameters for the estimation of the dynamic wheel load variation, however, the dynamic characteristics of track structures are discussed in this paper with reference to mathematical modelling of the tracks and vehicle. From the results of the more detailed analyses, the effects of track stiffness and damping characteristics are considered to be significant for reducing the dynamic wheel loads. To make this point clear and appraise the overall performance of the track components, the theoretical analysis on the dynamic behavior of the tracks and wheel set impact tests on several track structures are performed. The experimental results from different track components are compared with each other. The track stiffness and damping characteristics are also presented quantatively.

Friction-dependent Slip Behavior of Imgok Fault under the Present-day Stress Field (현생 응력하에서 단층 마찰계수에 따른 임곡단층의 거동 가능성 해석)

  • We carried out geometrical, kinematic, and geomechanical analyses on a lineament (the Imgok fault) near Gangneung, observed in ASTER images and aerial photographs, and field surveys. Earthquake focal mechanism solutions, used to estimate the present-day stress state, revealed that the direction of maximum compression is approximately N$70^{\circ}$E and that the stress condition is in favor of either strike-slip or reverse movement on the fault. The strike of the fault is not ideal for slip under the present-day stress field and thus the fault has a low slip tendency. However, the fault may be able to slip if the frictional coefficient (${\mu}$), representing the resistance of the fault to slip, is sufficiently low (e.g., ${\mu}$ < 0.25).
