난류강도가 수소 동축분류 난류 확산화염의 NOx 생성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Turbulence Intensity on the NOx Formation of Hydrogen Coaxial Jet Turbulent Diffusion Flames)

  • Experimental investigations were conducted for two hydrogen-nitrogen coaxial jet diffusion flames. A flame was a conventional coaxial jet diffusion flame and the other was a coaxial jet diffusion flame of which ambient air-jet turbulence was intensified. In this study, firstly two kinds of NOx measuring system were campared by using different convertors, secondly the NOx formation characteristics were investigated in order to examine the effect of turbulence intensity. In this study it is known that stainless convertor has some problem in the converting process from NO$_2$to NO in fuel rich region but molybdenum convertor can detect the amount of NOx correctly. The increase of turbulence intensity reduces the thermal NOx less than a half in our experiment and this effect is conspicuous near the nozzle. The conversion rate from NO to NO$_2$and the portion of NO$_2$among NOx are increased with turbulence intensity. These NOx measurements will help to understand the influences of turbulence intensity on NOx formation.

  • 본 연구에서는 선회가 없는 중심기류와 주위기류의 난류 전단층에서 형성되는 난류확산화염의 천이영역(transition region)에 주목하여 전단층내의 혼합작용과 화염 구조와의 상호작용을 규명하기 위해 거시적 및 순간적인 화염구조에 대해 실험적으로 조사 연구한 결과를 보고한다.

In this research, the experimental study has been carried out to investigate the effects of swirl number and equivalence ratio on the flow characteristics in nonreacting flow field of the model combustor which symplifys the continuous type combustor for the practical use. 반밀폐 연소공간 내 동축관 형상에 따른 DME-공기 확산화염의 안정화 특성 (Stabilization Characteristics of DME-Air Diffusion Flames Depending on the Configuration of the Fuel-Air Tubes in Half Closed Combustion Spaces)

  • The effects of configuration of fuel and air tubes on the flame stabilization were experimentally investigated in half-closed combustors. Flame behaviors and stabilities of methane, propane, and DME flames were compared by changing tube diameters and the locations of the fuel and air tubes. It was found that flammability limits are significantly affected by the outlet boundary condition, which disturbs compositions of burned and unburned mixtures near the flame base. And it was found that there exist critical inner tube heights, over which flame stability is determined only by the fuel flow rate. Conclusively, flame stabilization is governed by the flame propagation velocity in an ordinary mixing flow and the non-uniform mixture concentration in the combustion space which is affected by flow recirculation and the combustor configuration. The compositions of $NO_x$ and CO were compared to know basic characteristics of methane, propane, and DME flames.

  • 본 연구에서는 이중 동축 노즐로부터 대기로 방출되는 초음속 자유제트유동을 실험하였다. 출구마하수, 보조제트 충돌각 및 주제트 노즐 형상이 다른 8종류의 노즐을 사용하고, 주제트 및 보조제트 압력비를 각각 1.0∼10.0, 1.0∼4.0으로 변화시켜 노즐 출구 근방에서의 자유제트 유동장 특성을 상세히 조사하였다. 본 연구의 결과로부터 노즐의 형상 및 보조제트 분류각이 노즐 출구의 충격과 시스템에 영향을 미치며, 노즐출구로부터 마하디스크까지의 거리는 주제트 압력비가 증가할수록, 보조제트 압력비가 감소할수록 증가하나 마하디스크의 직경은 주제트 및 보조제트 압력비의 조합에 따라 달라진다는 것을 알았다.

  • 본 연구에서는 작은 층류화염을 형성하는 소형의 연소기에 대해 화염의 안정 화를 위하여 선회가 가해지는 등축분류 층류제트 확사화염의 구조에 미치는 선회의 강 도, 연료와 공기의 출구 레이놀즈 수, 연료와 공기의 선회방향의 영향등을 이론적인 모델의 구성과 수치실험을 통하여 고찰한다.

  • The NOx emission characteristics of jet flames fueled with $H_2$ and $CH_4$ were studied. Experimental and numerical investigations were carried out for various flames with varying equivalence ratio, fuel flow rate and nozzle diameter. The Emission indices of NOx(EINOx) were measured by chemiluminescent method and calculated by simulation using detailed chemistry. The results show that EINOx of $CH_4$ and $H_2$ flames have different trends in terms of equivalence ratio and fuel flow rate but have the same trends in terms of nozzle diameter. These differences can be explained by the following Thermal and Prompt trends in both flames. Thermal EINOx trends can be describe in function of residence time in the high-temperature region weighted by the maximum flame temperature and Prompt EINOx trends can be described in function of flame surface area of each combustion conditions.

  • An experiment using high preheated and swirled air in the coaxial diffusion flame burner was carried out in order to decrease NOx emission and improve the thermal efficiency. $N_2$ gas was used for diluent and propane was utilized for fuel. Combustion using high preheated air has two remarkable characteristics ; (1) low NOx emission with increasing dilution level, (2) high thermal efficiency in the furnace. Also, swirled air can mix fuel and oxidizer well in condition of diffusion flme and maintain the stable combustion. The color of flame changes from yellow to blue green according to increasing the dilution level of mixture gas. NO emission decreased with increasing dilution level and the swirl number.

  • 본 연구에서는 선회유동과 재순환영역이 있는 제한된 동축 분류유동(confined coaxial jet flow)을 갖는 연소기에 대하여 노즐을 통하여 분사된 연료액적의 증발 및 연소, 그리고 주위기체유동에 관한 제반현상을 정상상태 하에서 모사하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있으며 수치계산에 의한 이론적 해석방법으로 기상은 오일러 방식, 액상은 라 그란지 방식을 채택하였고 후술될 증발 및 연소모델을 적용하였다.
