  • In order to enhance the efficiency of removal a series of ElectroKinetic Remediation (EKR) tests on ferrous soil contaminated by lead are carried out using acids, chelates and surfactant as flushing agents. The test results indicate that pH in the electrolyte rapidly reached at steady state as the introduce of flushing solution of the lower pH, the type of flushing solution have no effect the distribution of electrical voltage within the sample but the increasing of solution concentration increases it at x/L=0.9. In the distribution of the residual lead in the sample SDS is the highest. Also, the removal efficiency for acetic acid concentration of 1mM Is the highest but the concentration of acetic acid significantly have no effect.

  • In the electrokinetic(EK) process, oxygen production by electrolysis was proportional to current density. The dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration in anode tank and bioreactor increased with the circulation rate of electrolyte. The bacterial population in bioreactor rapidly increased by the supplement of current, but the DO concentration deceased by the increased bacterial oxygen consumption. From the results of EK bioremediation for pentadecane-contaminated soil, the bacterial population and removal efficiency at 1.88 $mA/cm^2$ were lower than those at 0.63 $mA/cm^2$. This is because the high oxygen production rate largely increased the production rate of organic acids, which reduced the electrolyte pH and bacterial activity. At 0.63 $mA/cm^2$, the highest bacterial population and removal efficiency could be obtained due to the appropriate oxygen production and small decrease in pH.

  • In this study the characteristics of electrokinetic remediation, which is dependent on a various electrode configuration, was predicted from 2-D numerical analysis program (HERO-2D). Based on the predicted results for one dimensional and two dimensional electrode configurations, the optimized electrode configuration was determined by analyzing remediation efficiency, consumed electric power, installation cost of electrode and so on. When proposed electrode configurations were applied for in-situ remediation of the soils contaminated by heavy metals, the electrode configuration of high remediation efficiency should be chosen in case the high removal effect would be required, and one dimensional electrode configuration should be chosen in case the hard field works would be expected. Because the rectangular electrode configuration is better than others for consumed electric power, remediation efficiency per unit power, installation cost of electrode and so on, it can obtain the best results for the cost reduction.

  • The original pilot-scale electrokinetic equipment suitable to soil contamination characteristics of Korean nuclear facility sites was manufactured for the remediation of soil contaminated with uranium. During the experiment with the original electrokinetic equipment, many metal oxides were generated and were stuck on the cathode plate. The uranium removal capability of the original electrokinrtic equipment was almost exhausted because the cathode plate covered with metal oxides did not conduct electricity in the original electrokinetic equipment. Therefore, the original electrokinetic equipment was improved. After the remediation experience for 25 days using the improved electrokinetic remediation equipment, the removal efficiency of uranium from the soil was 96.8% and its residual uranium concentration was 0.81 Bq/g. When the initial uranium concentration of soil was about 50 Bq/g, the electrokinetic remediation time required to remediate the uranium concentration below clearance concentration of 1.0 Bq/g was about 34 days. When the initial uranium concentration of soil was about 75 Bq/g, the electrokinetic remediation time required to remediate below 1.0 Bq/g was about 42 days. When the initial uranium concentration of soil was about 100 Bq/g, the electrokinetic remediation time required to remediate below 1.0 Bq/g was about 49 days.

  • In this study a series of tests (bench scale test) are carried out for increasing the strength of clayey soil by EK-Injection method. In addition, the effects of strength increase in the treated sample are measured by operating the vane shear test device during 25 days at 5 days intervals in order to estimate the effect of ground improvement caused by diffusion. Also, the effects of strength increase in the treated sample are measured by operating the vane shear test device to estimate the effect by treatment durations (5, 10, 15, 20, 25). The test results show that the strength increase was developed approximately 2 to 7 times in comparison to initial shear strength, and outstanding strenfth increase was created as much as 7 times while injecting the sodium silicate and phosphoric acid in anolyte and catholyte. In addition, the measured shear strength with the influence of diffusion and reduction of water-content had a tendency to converge in constant value in proportion to elapsed time. As a result of this study, strength increment developed by the influence of EK-Injection and diffusion rather than the reduction of water-content was 1000% high on average. In case of changes of treatment duration, strength increment developed by the influence of treatment durations rather than the reduction of water-content was 3 to 4 times high on average.

  • In China, the continuous promotion and coverage of scanning code payment has caused an imbalance in the coin market. Coin changers can not only alleviate this problem, but also affect the business development of commercial banks. Therefore, it is meaningful to study the coin changer. The purpose of this paper is to study the impact of coin changers on the business of commercial banks in China. Through on-the-spot visits and based on the manually collected customer data of Chinese commercial banks as the object, combined with the calculation method of financial indicators to conduct case analysis. The results of the study show that the coin changer has a positive impact on the business development of Chinese commercial banks. This paper provides feasible suggestions and new ideas for business development to Chinese commercial banks. At present, there are few related studies on coin exchange machines. This study combines the calculation of financial indicators to verify the policy results, which is the innovation of this study.

  • Vertical electrokintic-flushing remediation equipment was developed for the remediation of a radioactive soil near nuclear facilities. An optimum reagent was selected to decontaminate the radioactive soil near nuclear facilities with the developed vertical electrokintic-flushing remediation equipment, and the optimum remediation conditions were established to obtain a higher remediation efficiency. Namely, acetic acid was selected as an optimum reagent due to its higher remediation efficiency. When the electrokinetic remediation and the electrokinetic-flushing remediation results were compared, the removal efficiency of 4.6% and the soil waste solution volume of 1.5 times were increased in the electrokinetic remediation. When the potential gradient within an electrokinetic soil cell was increased by two times (4.0 V/cm), the removal efficiencies of $Co^{2+}$ and $Cs^+$ were increased by about 4.3%($Co^{2+}$ : 98.9%, $Cs^+$ : 96.7%). Also, when the reagent concentration was increased from 0.01M to 0.05M, the removal efficiency of $Co^{2+}$ was increased but that of $Cs^+$ was decreased. Therefore, the optimum remediation conditions were that the acetic concentration was $0.01M{\sim}0.05M$, the potential gredient was 4 V/cm, the injection of reagent 2.4ml/g, and the remediation period was 20days.

  • Overall objective of this study was to evaluate the electrochemical characteristics of fine soils during the electrokinetic(EK) remediation. Zeta potential of kaolinite as a function of solution pH and surfactant concentration was investigated to make a relationship with electroosmotic flow direction and rate. During the EK experiments, pH of pore solution, electroosmotic permeability($k_e$), electric conductivity($\delta_e$) and voltage distribution was measured, respectively, The point of zero charge(PZC) of kaolinite was estimated to be about 4.2 and the zeta potential of kaolinite above PZC was more negative as solution pH increased. Sorption of surfactants on the kaolinite altered the zeta potential of kaolinite. resulting from the variation of electrochemical characteristics of kaolinite surface. hs the EK experiment progressed, low pH was predominant over most of the kaolinite specimen and thus resulted in very low mass and charge flow. The $k_e$ and $\delta_e$ was also affected by the variation of voltage drop across the EK column with time. Results from this study implied that zeta potential of kaolinite affected by the pH variation of pore solution and voltage distribution in soil column played important role in the determination of mass and charge flow during EK process. It was also suggested that pH adjustment or addition of suitable sorbates could alter the electrochemical characteristics of soil surface and thus maintain high mass and charge flow rate with time.
