In this study, dynamic serviceability of PSC, PreStressed Concrete, simple railway bridge with 25m span was estimated. All of the high speed and general train loads were considered at estimation. Natural frequency is estimated about 8Hz and includes within optimum natural frequency extent of the railway bridge. Also, the bridge was detected that resonance occurrence possibility does not exist. When travel the Moogunghwa train, acceleration response was measured to 0.43g that exceed limitation value 0.35g. Also, rotation angle of girders end did not satisfy design standard of railway bridge for high speed train, but impact coefficient and deflection satisfied design standard. As a result, that railway bridge was detected that is securing dynamic safety and serviceability partially, but methods to decrease vibration acceleration response are required.
The field farming machine is difficult to develop due to its heavy slopes, tough roads and unformatted cultivation by growing crops. In particular, harvesting is a major problem in rural areas in Republic of Korea where aging is accelerated with work requiring a lot of time and manpower. This study seeks to analyze the dynamic characteristics of hot pepper harvester developed to replace manpower, reduce working hours and mechanize harvesting operations. To analyze the dynamic characteristics of a hot pepper harvester, the dynamic program Recurdyn was used and all analysis were performed as case of an empty vehicle. Based on the results, this study can suggest dynamic safety range of multi-purpose driving platform with hot pepper harvester.
In this paper, we propose a framework that can perform acceleration collision detection efficiently by using a cone based collision area in a particle-based system which requires collision detection with many objects. Three conditions determine particle and cone-based collision regions: 1) If there is a cone position within the radius of the adjacent particle, 2) In the case where the position of the adjacent particle exists in the cone area, 3) When adjacent particles exist between two vectors forming a cone area. As a result, it is defined that when the above conditions are all satisfied, the particle and the region of a cone have collided. In this paper, we automatically update the area of the cone, which is the collision detection area, according to the particle movement. Determine the direction and length of the cone based on the position and velocity of the particle to calculate the dynamic change of the cone. Collision detection is performed quickly using only the particles in the finally calculated area. The acceleration method proposed in this paper is simple to implement because it is executed with a closed form equation instead of explicitly creating the tree data structure, and collision inspection performance is improved in all results.

This paper presents a new insulation resistance calculation technique to prevent electric shock and fire accidents due to the dielectric breakdown in the primary insulation section of the IT ground system. The solar power generation market is growing rapidly due to the recent expansion of renewable energy and energy storage systems, but as the insulation is destroyed and fire accidents frequently occur, a device for monitoring the insulation resistance state is indispensable to the IT grounding method. Compared to the conventional algorithm that use a method of multiplying a time constant to a fixed coefficient, the proposed insulation resistance calculation method has a fast response time and high accuracy over a wide insulation resistance range by applying a different coefficient according to the values of the insulation impedance. The proposed dynamic time constant based insulation resistance calculation technique reduces the response time by up to 39.29 seconds and improves the error rate by 20.11%, compared to the conventional method.

We investigated to compare the effects of a low intensity eccentric exercise and dynamic stretching on symptoms of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). The eighteen women who had not participated in a regular exercise programme for the lower extremities in the previous five months were randomly assigned to one of three experimental groups: control group, a low intensity eccentric exercise group and dynamic stretching group. We measured the joint range of motion (ROM), maximal voluntary isometric exercise (MVIC), muscle soreness rating scale and ultrasound image measurement before eccentric exercise inducing DOMS, and 24, 48, and 72 hours after an eccentric exercise inducing DOMS. The exercise programme in a low intensity eccentric exercise group and dynamic stretching group were respectively performed 3 times a week for 4 weeks before eccentric exercise inducing DOMS. There was significantly different between the groups in muscle soreness rating scale and MVIC (p<.05). However, there was not significantly different between groups in ultrasound image measurement and ROM (p<.05). These results suggest that a low intensity eccentric exercise group and dynamic stretching group effectively reduced muscle soreness rating scale out of the symptoms of DOMS. A low intensity eccentric exercise group may be an effective improvement than dynamic stretching group in muscle soreness rating scale.
The goal of this paper is to apply the multi-step Taylor method to a space truss, a non-linear discrete dynamic system, and analyze the non-linear dynamic response and unstable behavior of the structures. The accurate solution based on an analytical approach is needed to deal with the inverse problem, or the dynamic instability of a space truss, because the governing equation has geometrical non-linearity. Therefore, the governing motion equations of the space truss were formulated by considering non-linearity, where an accurate analytical solution could be obtained using the Taylor method. To verify the accuracy of the applied method, an SDOF model was adopted, and the analysis using the Taylor method was compared with the result of the 4th order Runge-Kutta method. Moreover, the dynamic instability and buckling characteristics of the adopted model under step excitation was investigated. The result of the comparison between the two methods of analysis was well matched, and the investigation shows that the dynamic response and the attractors in the phase space can also delineate dynamic snapping under step excitation, and damping affects the displacement of the truss. The analysis shows that dynamic buckling occurs at approximately 77% and 83% of the static buckling in the undamped and damped systems, respectively.
It is important to get clinical ultrasonic images of good quality for accurate diagnosis. In this study, it observed the change of ultrasonic images against setting frequency, dynamic range(DR) and type of probes on ultrasonic scanner. In the experiment it evaluated image of LCS (Low Contrast Sensitivity) targets(-15, -6, -3, +3, +6, +15 dB) of a standard ultrasonic test phantoms(539,551, ATS, USA) similar to solid and cystic lesions. Its imaged from convex (C3-7IM) and linear probe (L5-12IM) on SA-9900 (Medison Ltd, Korea) scanner. The images obtained altering the setting parameters which are frequency(gen, pen, res, harmonic) mode and DR($40{\sim}100\;dB$). The quality of images evaluated compare with the nominal LCS value of target and measured LCS value. The results show that there was no significant changing of quality images altering DR 40, 60, 80, 100 dB against frequency in Convex probe but the image being the highest in LCS target at DR 60 dB, harmonic of frequency mode in the -15 dB target close to cystic lesion. In Linear probe, DR 40 dB, harmonic mode at -15 dB LCS target close to nominal value. It discussed necessity of evaluation about ROC(Receiver Operating Characteristic) from the psychological viewpoint and limit of evaluation from quantified images.
This study compares elastic moduli calculated using two stiffness testing methods with different strain ranges to evaluate the stress-settlement characteristics of foundation support layers. Elastic moduli were calculated by the soil stiffness gauge (SSG) in the micro-strain range and the plate load test (PLT) in the medium strain range. To apply the elastic moduli obtained by the two testing methods with different strain ranges to the design and construction of foundation soils, the correlation between each measurement value should be identified in advance. As a result of the comparative analysis of the elastic moduli calculated using the two methods in weathered soil and rock, which are representative support layers in Korea, the calculated elastic moduli differed depending on the types of soil and stress conditions. For various soil types, the static elastic modulus obtained by the PLT was reduced by 56% because of the difference in the strain level of the test compared with the dynamic elastic modulus obtained by the SSG. Therefore, the results show that it is necessary to apply corrections to the stress distribution, stress level, and dynamic effect according to the ground stiffness to effectively use the SSG instead of the PLT.
To deal with the case of a rigid retaining wall built close to a stable rock face with cohesionless backfill, analytical solution methods Proposed by Spangler- Handy and Sokolovskii are modified. The modified solution methods, taking into account different friction angles along the wall and the rock face, can estimate the developed static or dynamic horizontal earth pressures behind vertical retaining walls experiencing various types of outward wall movements. The range of application of each proposed method, which is represented by the ratio of the distance between the wall and the rock face to the height of the wall, is compared with each other and also is examined for different wall friction angles as well as soil friction angles. Further, the result predicted by the modified Spangler - Handy solution method is compared with that from the experimental model test on sand. The comparison shows in general good agreements at various stages of retaining wall rotation about its toe. Finally results of analytical parametric study, together with the design charts, are presented to demonstrate the effects of wall friction angles and horizontal acceleration coefficients.

In this paper, we present a design method for improving the linearity and dynamic range of the analog current mode multiplier circuit, which is one of the key devices in an analog current mode AI processor. The proposed circuit consists of 4 quadrant translinear loops made up of NMOS transistors only, which minimizes physical mismatches of the transistors. The proposed circuit can be implemented at 117㎛ × 109㎛ in 0.35㎛ CMOS process and has a total harmonic distortion of 0.3%. The proposed analog current mode multiplier is expected to be useful as the core circuit of a current mode AI processor.
