An Effective Shadow Elimination Method Using Adaptive Parameters Update (적응적 매개변수 갱신을 통한 효과적인 그림자 제거 기법)

  • Background subtraction, which separates moving objects in video sequences, is an essential technology for object recognition and tracking. However, background subtraction methods are often confused by shadow regions and this misclassification of shadow regions disturbs further processes to perceive the shapes or exact positions of moving objects. This paper proposes a method for shadow elimination which is based on shadow modeling by color information and Bayesian classification framework. Also, because of dynamic update of modeling parametres, the proposed method is able to correspond adaptively to illumination changes. Experimental results proved that the proposed method can eliminate shadow regions effectively even for circumstances with varying lighting condition.

Dynamic Impact Analysis Method using Use-case and UML Models on Object-oriented Analysis (객체지향 분석의 유스케이스와 UML 모델을 이용한 동적 영향 분석 방법)

  • Software is continuously changing during development and after development. When a change is required, it is difficult to precisely grasp the scope of impact intuitively. A systematic method is needed to accomplish the required change. The purpose of impact analysis on software change is to avoid missing any information by recognizing the ripple effect that the change might cause. This paper proposes a dynamic method that can easily identify the scope of change request by using the association between use-case scenarios and artifacts of UML modeling in object-oriented development environment. By using this approach, the scope of impact that the change might have on other components such as class diagram and sequence diagram in use-case scenarios can be identified by forward tracing. In addition, analysis of influence of possible further changes due to changes in other components can be identified iteratively through backward tracing. The results of this paper are not limited to impact analysis on artifacts and change type. They can also be used as basic guidelines during impact analysis for various change requests.

  • Background subtraction is mainly used for the real-time extraction and tracking of moving objects from image sequences. In the outdoor environment, there are many changeable factor such as gradually changing illumination, swaying trees and suddenly moving objects, which are to be considered for the adaptive processing. Normally, GMM(Gaussian Mixture Model) is used to subtract the background adaptively considering the various changes in the scenes, and the adaptive GMMs improving the real-time performance were worked. This paper, for on-line background subtraction, applied the improved adaptive GMM, which uses the small constant for learning rate ${\alpha}$ and is not able to speedily adapt the suddenly movement of objects, So, this paper proposed and evaluated the dynamic control method of ${\alpha}$ using the adaptive selection of the number of component distributions and the global variances of pixel values.

  • This paper proposes a robust and computationally efficient algorithm for automatic video object segmentation. For implementing the spatio-temporal segmentation, which aims for efficient combination of the motion segmentation and the color segmentation, an SOM-based hierarchical clustering method in which the segmentation process is regarded as clustering of feature vectors is employed. As results, problems of high computational complexity which required for obtaining exact segmentation results in conventional video object segmentation methods, and the performance degradation due to noise are significantly reduced. A measure of motion vector reliability which employs MRF-based MAP estimation scheme has been introduced to minimize the influence from the motion estimation error. In addition, a noise elimination scheme based on the motion reliability histogram and a clustering validity index for automatically identifying the number of objects in the scene have been applied. A cross projection method for effective object tracking and a dynamic memory to maintain temporal coherency have been introduced as well. A set of experiments has been conducted over several video sequences to evaluate the proposed algorithm, and the efficiency in terms of computational complexity, robustness from noise, and higher segmentation accuracy of the proposed algorithm have been proved.

  • There has been increased interest for building energy-saving for worldwide. There is continuing research on IT technology for efficient management of BEMS. Recently, It be able to control of LED and to maximize energy savings to the development of LED lighting technology. We propose the security image processing system to improve efficiency and we implement the real-time status monitoring system to surveil the object in the building energy management system. In this paper, we proposed the system of LED control using IP camera and Adaptive Gaussian Mixture Model for BEMS. We implement LED light control software on the based of the security camera image processing so the reliable controling based on the security camera is possible efficiently.

  • Many interaction methods for augmented reality has attempted to reduce difficulties in tracking of interaction subjects by either allowing a limited set of three dimensional input or relying on auxiliary devices such as data gloves and paddles with fiducial markers. We propose Spatial Interaction (SPINT), a noncontact passive method that observes an occupancy state of the spaces around target virtual objects for interpreting user input. A depth-sensing camera is introduced for constructing the virtual space sensors, and then manipulating the augmented space for interaction. The proposed method does not require any wearable device for tracking user input, and allow versatile interaction types. The depth perception anomaly caused by an incorrect occlusion between real and virtual objects is also minimized for more precise interaction. The exhibits of dynamic contents such as Miniature AR System (MINARS) could benefit from this fluid 3D user interface.

  • 본 연구에서는 낙동강수계 일별 운영 계획 수립을 위한 저수지군 최적 연계운영 모형(CoMOM, Coordinated Multiple Reservoir Operating Model)을 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 동적 네트워크 흐름 모형을 기반으로 한 다중목적 혼합 정수 목표계획 모형 (MOMIGP, Multiple Objective Mixed Integer Goal-Programming)을 수립하였다. 이 모형은 월말 목표 수위 및 운영 제약 등을 목표 계획법으로 구성하였으며, 일별 운영의 특성을 고려하여 하도추적의 효과를 반영하였고, 선형화된 발전함수를 이용하여 발전량을 최대화 하도록 한 후 정확한 발전량을 사후에 산정하였다. 이와 같이 수립된 수학 모형을 GUI를 비롯한 프로그램(CoMOM)으로 개발하여 사용자가 편리하게 수행 할 수 있도록 하였다. 이 프로그램은 의사결정자의 운영 목표와 의도를 효과적으로 반영할 수 있도록 대화형 목표 계획법을 구현하였으며, 상충되는 여러 목적에 대하여 가능한 파래토(Pareto) 최적해를 제시하고 의사결정자가 가장 선호하는 해를 선택하도록 대화형 다중목적 계획법 CBITP(Convex hull of individual maxima Based Interactive Tchebycheff Procedure)를 활용하여 구현하였다. 한편 객체지항적 프로그램 기법을 활용하여 수계 내의 노드(저수지, 수요지, 발전소 등)를 추가 하거나 삭제 할 수 있도록 하여, 다른 수계로의 확장이 용이하도록 개발하였다.

A Method for Object Tracking Based on Background Stabilization (동적 비디오 기반 안정화 및 객체 추적 방법)

  • This paper proposes a robust digital video stabilization algorithm to extract and track an object, which uses a phase correlation-based motion correction. The proposed video stabilization algorithm consists of background stabilization based on motion estimation and extraction of a moving object. The motion vectors can be estimated by calculating the phase correlation of a series of frames in the eight sub-images, which are located in the corner of the video. The global motion vector can be estimated and the image can be compensated by using the multiple local motions of sub-images. Through the calculations of the phase correlation, the motion of the background can be subtracted from the former frame and the compensated frame, which share the same background. The moving objects in the video can also be extracted. In this paper, calculating the phase correlation to track the robust motion vectors results in the compensation of vibrations, such as movement, rotation, expansion and the downsize of videos from all directions of the sub-images. Experimental results show that the proposed digital image stabilization algorithm can provide continuously stabilized videos and tracking object movements.

  • 본 논문은 심장이 수축$\cdot$이완함에 따라 그 형태와 위치가 변하는 관상동맥의 구조와 그 움직임을 사실적으로 표현하기 위한 매개변수적 모델링 기법을 제안한다. 완성된 모델은 관상동맥의 움직임을 관찰함으로써 심장질환 판단에 도움을 주고, 심장시술 시뮬레이션 및 시술계획수립에 사용될 수 있다. 매개변수적 기법으로 생성된 모델은 메쉬 정점의 인덱스만으로 모델간 매칭을 위한 대응점을 찾을 수 있으므로, 시간대별로 달라지는 정점의 위치를 쉽게 추적함으로써 모델의 움직임을 표현할 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 기법으로 생성된 모델은 분리, 접합 등의 변형조작이 어렵고, 트리형태 객체에 적용하기 힘든 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 극복하기 위해 분할된 혈관영역의 골격데이타에서 찾아낸 분기점을 중심으로 Generalized Cylinder를 이용하여 실린더 형태의 각 혈관세그먼트를 모델링 한 후, 분기영역을 3개의 하프파이프(half pipe)와 2개의 삼각형 패치로 연결하여 모델링하였다. 완성된 모델은 다시점 관상동맥데이터에 적용하였고, 각 시점에서 구해진 정점의 위치를 선형보간함으로써 부드러운 혈관의 움직임을 나타내었다.

  • For tracing tag locations, a trajectories should be modeled and indexed in radio frequency identification (RFID) systems. The trajectory of a tag can be represented as a line that connects two spatiotemporal locations captured when the tag enters and leaves the vicinity of a reader. If a tag enters but does not leave a reader, its trajectory is represented only as a point captured at entry. Because the information that the tag stays in the reader is missing from the trajectory represented only as a point, we should extend the region of a query to find the tag that remains in a reader. In this paper, we propose an interval data model of tag's trajectory in order to solve the problem. Trajectories of tags are represented as two kinds of intervals; dynamic intervals which are time-dependent lines and static intervals which are fixed lines. We also show that the interval data model has better performance than others with a cost model
