트래픽 규격화를 통한 효율적 망관리성 제고

  • 망관리성이란 다수의 이용자가 네트워크를 효율적으로 이용할 수 있도록 하기 위해 통신사업자가 네트워크를 합리적으로 관리할 수 있어야 한다는 것을 의미한다. 본고에서는 최근 증가하고 있는 대용량 비디오 트래픽에 대한 최적의 이용환경을 제공하고 망관리성을 제고하는 방안으로서 비디오 트래픽 대역폭 최적화 동향을 살펴보고 향후 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 비디오 트래픽 대역폭 최적화란 네트워크(3G/ LTE 등), 단말(휴대폰/태블릿 등), 콘텐츠(스포츠/드라마/영화 등) 유형별로 이용자의 동영상 품질 만족도와 네트워크 품질을 동시에 만족하는 최적 대역폭(비트레이트)의 비디오 트래픽을 전송하는 것이다. 비디오 트래픽 최적화에 있어서 최적대역폭 선정 기준의 정립은 다음과 같은 두 가지의 연구 결과를 기반으로 진행된다. 첫째, 일반적으로 동영상 대역폭이 증가할수록 영상 품질도 정비례로 증가할 것이라는 예상과는 달리, 무선 단말 이용자는 영상화질의 일정 임계치 이상에서 품질의 차이를 거의 느낄 수 없다. 둘째, 다량의 비디오 트래픽이 네트워크 총 대역폭의 일정 비율 이상을 차지하게 될 경우 네트워크 품질저하 요소가 발생하여 네트워크 품질이 급격히 악화된다. 비디오 트래픽 최적화는 이러한 요소를 고려하여 이용자의 영상 품질 만족도를 최대화하면서 네트워크 품질 유지비용을 최소화하고 트래픽 전송품질을 확보할 수 있는 최적대역폭을 설정하는 것이다. 비디오 트래픽 최적화의 목적은 트래픽을 통제하거나 차단하는 것이 아니며 최적대역폭에 대한 가이드라인을 제시하여 콘텐츠사업자(이하 CP)와 Over-The-Top 사업자(이하 OTT)가 자발적으로 준수하도록 유도하고자 하는 것이다. 비디오 트래픽 최적화는 ICT생태계 모든 이해관계자에게 편익을 제고할 것으로 기대된다. 첫째, 이용자에 대해서는 통신품질 안정화로 전체적인 이용자 만족도를 향상시킨다. 둘째, CP/OTT는 멀티미디어 서비스의 대중화와 서버 및 전송장비 비용을 절감할 수 있다. 마지막으로 통신사는 네트워크 품질저하 및 비용 급증을 방지할 수 있다.

A Multiresolution Image Segmentation Method using Stabilized Inverse Diffusion Equation (안정화된 역 확산 방정식을 사용한 다중해상도 영상 분할 기법)

  • Image segmentation is the task which partitions the image into meaningful regions and considered to be one of the most important steps in computer vision and image processing. Image segmentation is also widely used in object-based video compression such as MPEG-4 to extract out the object regions from the given frame. Watershed algorithm is frequently used to obtain the more accurate region boundaries. But, it is well known that the watershed algorithm is extremely sensitive to gradient noise and usually results in oversegmentation. To solve such a problem, we propose an image segmentation method which is robust to noise by using stabilized inverse diffusion equation (SIDE) and is more efficient in segmentation by employing multiresolution approach. In this paper, we apply both the region projection method using labels of adjacent regions and the region merging method based on region adjacency graph (RAG). Experimental results on noisy image show that the oversegmenation is reduced and segmentation efficiency is increased.

  • Stabilizing systems with Gyroscope are extensively used in various tracking devices for attaining the system's objective. Because of putting performance first in importance of system and focusing on specification of parts, designers are sometimes passing over the dynamic characteristics of system in vibrating condition. In this paper, we were dealing with unstable stabilizing control due to coincidence of stabilization platform natural frequency and that of Gyroscope used for sensing rate. For solving this problem, statics and dynamic test of silicon rubber with 3 different hardness were performed and similar stabilizing system was adopted to prove reasonability of rubber choice and static pre-strain.

  • Static synchronous compensator(STATCOM)은 무효전력을 공급하여 외란을 완화하는 등 전력 품질을 향상시켜 전력 계통을 안정화하는 시스템이다. Cascaded H-bridge(CHB) 컨버터는 멀티레벨 구조를 가지므로 STATCOM 시스템 적용에 많은 이점이 있다. 하지만, 이러한 멀티레벨 CHB 컨버터의 안정적인 동작을 위해서는 균형 제어가 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 Y 결선 CHB 컨버터의 레그 에너지 균형 제어에 사용되는 주입 영상분 전압에 대하여 분석하고 균형 제어의 동특성 향상을 위한 전향 보상 계산 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법을 적용하여 부하 불평형뿐만 아니라 계통 사고로 인한 계통 및 부하 동시 불균형에서도 안정적으로 시스템을 동작할 수 있다. 마지막으로 제안한 방법에 대한 수학적 타당성을 제시하고, 50MVA의 실제 스케일의 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안하는 방법을 검증하였다.

Robust Motion Estimation for Luminance Fluctuation Sequence (조명 변화에 강건한 움직임 추정 기법)

  • This In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm for motion estimation of the image sequences with luminance fluctuation. For such sequences, conventional motion estimation methods based on the difference of pixel values usually produce the erroneous motion information. The proposed algorithm defines the luminance fluctuation as a linear model with gain and offset parameter, and extracts motion information using gradient and phase of the corresponding local region within consecutive frames. Therefor the method is robust to the luminance change of the frames. We test our algorithm for the ground truth sequence with artificially added luminance change and motion, and real sequences corrupted by the flicker. The results shows that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional methods.

Development of Video Watermark System for Low-specification System as Android Platforms (저 사양 안드로이드 기반 동영상 보안을 위한 워터마크 시스템 개발)

  • This paper describes a method to insert and detect watermark or fingerprint to/from videos in low-computing powered system as Android platforms. Fingerprint, which is a kind of watermark, has features such as patterns that contain information. The inserting frame numbers in video-stream and the positions in a picture were chosen from the encrypted user ID to insert the watermarks. The used encrypt algorithm is the HIGHT algorithm which was developed for low-computing powered systems by KISA(Korean Internet & Security Agency). Subtracting an inferred picture from the previous picture was used to extract a candidate feature. Median filtering was used to get rid of noise and stabilize the candidate feature. New algorithm that reduces calculating steps of the median filtering was developed and applied for low-specification systems. The stabilized features were accumulated over 150 times and calculated by correlation coefficient method to recognize the patterns. We examined 22 videos and successfully detected the patterns from 21 videos. The correlation coefficient r values that we examined through this study exceeded over 0.79 more than the threshold (0.7).

  • The High Agility and Remote Control Camera System Can-Satellite ($HA+RC^2S$ CanSat) proposed in this study is a satellite designed by the authors of this work and submitted as an entry in the 2017 CanSat competition in Goheung gun, Jeonnam, Korea. The primary mission of this work is to develop a high agility camera system (HACS) that can obtain high quality images in the air. This objective is achieved by using a tuned mass damper (TMD) to attenuate the residual vibration that occurs immediately after rotating the camera. The secondary objective is to obtain a self-image of CanSat in the air using a remote control self-camera system (RCSS) that is wirelessly controlled using a joystick from a ground station. This paper describes the development process of the $HA+RC^2S$ CanSat, including mission definition, system design, manufacturing, function and performance tests carried out on the ground, and final launch test.

A Content-based Video Rate-control Algorithm Interfaced to Human-eye (인간과 결합한 내용기반 동영상 율제어)

  • In the general multiple video object coder, more interested objects such as speaker or moving object is consistently coded with higher priority. Since the priority of each object may not be fixed in the whole sequence and be variable on frame basis, it must be adjusted in a frame. In this paper, we analyze the independent rate control algorithm and global algorithm that the QP value is controled by the static parameters, object importance or priority, target PSNR, weighted distortion. The priority among static parameters is analyzed and adjusted into dynamic parameters according to the visual interests or importance obtained by camera interface. Target PSNR and weighted distortion are proportionally derived by using magnitude, motion, and distortion. We apply those parameters for the weighted distortion control and the priority-based control resulting in the efficient bit-rate distribution. As results of this paper, we achieved that fewer bits are allocated for video objects which has less importance and more bits for those which has higher visual importance. The duration of stability in the visual quality is reduced to less than 15 frames of the coded sequence. In the aspect of PSNR, the proposed scheme shows higher quality of more than 2d13 against the conventional schemes. Thus the coding scheme interfaced to human- eye proves an efficient video coder dealing with the multiple number of video objects.

Real-time Stabilization Method for Video acquired by Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (무인 항공기 촬영 동영상을 위한 실시간 안정화 기법)

  • Video from unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is influenced by natural environments due to the light-weight UAV, specifically by winds. Thus UAV's shaking movements make the video shaking. Objective of this paper is making a stabilized video by removing shakiness of video acquired by UAV. Stabilizer estimates camera's motion from calculation of optical flow between two successive frames. Estimated camera's movements have intended movements as well as unintended movements of shaking. Unintended movements are eliminated by smoothing process. Experimental results showed that our proposed method performs almost as good as the other off-line based stabilizer. However estimation of camera's movements, i.e., calculation of optical flow, becomes a bottleneck to the real-time stabilization. To solve this problem, we make parallel stabilizer making average 30 frames per second of stabilized video. Our proposed method can be used for the video acquired by UAV and also for the shaking video from non-professional users. The proposed method can also be used in any other fields which require object tracking, or accurate image analysis/representation.

The Stabilization Loop Design for a Drone-Mounted Camera Gimbal System Using Intelligent-PID Controller (Intelligent-PID 제어기를 사용한 드론용 짐발 시스템의 안정화기 설계)

  • A flying drone generates vibrations in a great variety of frequencies, and it requires a gimbal system stabilization loop design in order to obtain clean and accurate image from the camera attached to the drone under this environment. The gimbal system for drone comprises the structure that supports the camera module and the stabilization loop which follows the precise angle while blocking the vibration from outside. This study developed a dynamic model for one axis for the stabilization loop design of a gimbal system for drones and applied classical PID controller and intelligent PID controller. The Stabilization loop design was developed by using MATLAB/Simulink and compared the performance of each controller through simulation. Especially, the intelligent PID controller can be designed almost without the dynamic model and it demonstrates that the angle can be followed without readjusting the parameters of the controller even when the characteristics of the model changes.
