  • The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that affect the patient's exposure dose during the abdominal CT scan using the bolus tracking technique, and reducing the radiation exposure to the patient during the abdominal CT scan using the bolus tracking technique by adjusting the delay time according to the corresponding factor. The experiment was divided into two parts, and the first experiment was conducted with 300 patients There were 188 males and 112 females, and their average age was 58±12.18(19~85). In the second experiment, 150 subjects (100 males and 50 females) who were undergoing their follow-up examination among the first experiment subjects, and the difference in dose before and after was compared by applying the delay time according to the influencing factor. As a result of the first experiment, there was a relationship between the arrival time of the contrast media and the heart rate, and it was found that the arrival time decreased as the heart rate increased for both men and women. As a result of the second experiment, the average dose of CTDIvol and DLP before/after applying the delay time according to the heart rate decreased 4.98 mGy and 5.33 mGy·cm in the male group, and 3.54 mGy and 3.88 mGy·cm in the female group. By applying proper delay time according to the patient's heart rate during abdominal CT scan with the bolus tracking technique, the radiation exposure dose of the patient can be reduced.

  • In this study, when cardiopulmonary resuscitation continued for a long time, the rescuer's blood lactic acid concentration, heart rate, and rating of perceived exertion were measured to identify the change in the rescuer's fatigue. Data collection was conducted from July 5 to July 9, 2021, with a total of 24 students, 12 students department of special warfare medical non-commissioned officer, and 12 students department of emergency medical technology at D University, undergoing a two-person alternative chest compression resuscitation for 60 minutes. As a result of the study, the rescuer's blood lactic acid concentration, heart rate, rating of perceived exertion, and chest compression speed were significantly changed according to the duration of CPR (p<.001, p<.001, p<.001, p<.001). blood lactic acid concentrations at every measurement cycle (30 minutes, 40 minutes, 50 minutes, 60 minutes) showed a significant positive correlation with heart rate (r=.696, p<.001, r=.672, p<.001, r=.709, p<.001, r=.782, p<.001), there was also a significant positive correlation with the rating of perceived exertion (r=.476, p<).05, r=.426, p<.05, r=.470, p<.05, r=.470, p<.05). Therefore, monitoring the fatigue of rescuers using heart rate and rating of perceived exertion will be useful for maintaining high-quality chest compression in situations where cardiopulmonary resuscitation is required for a long time.

  • Purpose : To measure the peak myocardial tissue velocities and patterns of longitudinal motion of atrioventricular(AV) annuli and assess body weight and heart rates-related changes in normal children. Methods : Using pulsed wave Tissue Doppler Imaging(TDI), we measured peak systolic, early and late diastolic myocardial velocities in 72 normal children at six different sites in apical-4 chamber (A4C) view and at four different sites in apical-2 chamber(A2C) view and compared those values with each other, also observing effects with body weights and heart rates. Longitudinal motions of the AV annuli were measured at three different sites in A4C. Results : There were no significant differences of the TDI parameters between gender, ECHO-machines and among the three Doctors performing TDI. Peak myocardial velocities were significantly higher at the base of the heart than in the mid-ventricular region and in the right lateral ventricular wall than in the left lateral ventricular wall or IVS. The TDI parameters showed no significant correlation with fractional shortening(%). Peak systolic and early diastolic myocardial velocities had no correlation with heart rates, but peak late diastolic velocities and A/E ratio correlated positively with heart rates. Correlations between the TDI parameters and body weight were inconsistent. Absolute longitudinal displacement and % displacement were not differ between gender and not correlated with the TDI parameters. Conclusion : We measured the peak myocardial velocities with TDI and the longitudinal motion of the AV annuli using M-mode echocardiography in normal children. With more large scale evaluation, we may establish reference values in normal children and broaden clinical applicabilities in congenital and acquired heart diseases.
