Device Synchronization Method and Bandwidth Reservation for Isochronous Traffic in Synchronous Ethernet (동기식 이더넷에서의 장치 동기화 방법 및 실시간 트래픽을 위한 대역폭 예약)

  • By growth of digital media devices, a number of researches are in progress for transmission of isochronous traffic over network. Above all, network techniques that apply Ethernet, are in the limelight because of advantages of Ethernet. A standardization of network technique for isochronous traffic over Ethernet is in progress in IEEE 802.1 AVB TG. This paper proposed network technique for isochronous traffic over Ethernet model, that is, synchronous Ethernet model with synchronization method between devices. And this paper proposed bandwidth reservation method for transmission of isochronous traffic in synchronized devices. In this paper, synchronous Ethernet model is implemented through OPNET, efficiency of proposed methods is analyzed.

  • The NG-SDH system requires signal synchronization to synchronize incoming ethernet signal with GFP frame. The foreign nation research completes a chipset development until now and it secures a relation technique, but it does not secure a relation technique from domestic. Therefore, in this paper, we presented with signal synchronization method of Ethernet signal through GFP frame. We knew that the synchronized method of Ethernet signal through GFP-F must apply ingress & egress buffer and GFP Idle. We understood that the synchronized method of Ethernet signal through GFP-T must apply GFP Idle and $65B{\_}PAD$, and require maximum 3-bit addition & deletion of idle. Also we showed signal synchronization realization through simulation and obtained MTIE/TDEV characteristics and peak to peak jitter in egress output.

  • In this paper, we suggest a new capability aware spanning tree(CAST) algorithm for Ethernet bridged network which consists of both legacy Ethernet bridges and synchronous Ethernet ones. The legacy spanning tree algorithm specified in IEEE 802.1D standard select root bridge and construct tree based on each bridge's identifier without consideration of each bridge's capability. Thus we note that if the legacy STP may assign a synchronous bridge as a root bridge, the bridge may become a bottleneck for asynchronous trafficbecause of bandwidth limitation for asynchronous traffic. In this paper, the CAST algorithm constructsmultiple spanning tree by using of bridge capability and makes different transmission path for each traffics, can removes this kind of defect. From the simulation results, we can see that the proposed CAST algorithm has better end-to-end delay performance than legacy spanning tree algorithm in high traffic load and multiple hops environment.

  • 이더넷 환경에서 시간에 민감한 데이터를 전송하기 위해 각 장치들은 시간 동기를 맞출 필요가 있다. 동기식 이더넷에서는 정확한 시간 동기를 위해 IEEE 1588의 서브넷 개념을 이용한다. 현재 연구되고 있는 동기 방법은 LAN상의 장치 중 하나의 기준 되는 동기 정보를 제공하는 장치를 선정하고 이 장치에 의해 다른 모든 장치가 동기를 맞추는 방법을 이용한다. 본 논문은 이러한 동기 정보를 제공하는 장치를 선정하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 기존의 동기 방법과는 달리 동기 정보를 제공하는 장치를 선정하는 동시에 통신하는 장치와 동기를 맞추게 된다. 제안된 방법으로 기존 이더넷에서 시간에 민감한 데이터 전송을 동기화하여 전송 할 수 있고 나아가 무선 통신 및 IEEE 1394와의 연계를 통한 네트워크 전반적인 백본망으로 구성 될 수 있다.

  • Today, A matter of concern of home network technology increase. The standard of communication between home network devices are required. IEEE 802.1 AVB(Audio/Video Bridging) specifies transmission method for time-sensitive data between these devices using Ethernet in bridged local area networks. IEEE 802.1 AVB and IEEE 1588 PTP(Precision Time Protocol) have various message type for grandmaster selection and synchronize the devices. These messages bring on complexity protocol. We propose a method that uses Single TimeSync frame in order to the problem. Our proposal is appropriate process complexity and low transmission delay for home network by using the TimeSync frame. Furthermore, after all devices are adjusted to the single TimeSync frame, a resource reservation, a forwarding and queueing rule are needed for a time-sensitive application.

  • The vehicle network such as CAN, MOST, Ethernet has different protocols. In the case of Ethernet data, when data is transmitted from Ethernet to MOST150, it cannot be treated by Ethernet channel of MOST150, leading to data loss and transmission delays. Thus, this thesis proposes vehicle integration GATEWAY, which can form a network by organically connecting the Ethernet and MOST150 networks and minimize the delay and data losses caused by the differences in bandwidth.

  • In this paper, we consider the following two issues for implementing the synchronous Ethernet systems. First, a synchronous Ethernet system employs a fixed size superframe which is divided into a synchronous period and an asynchronous one. We note that the starting point of a superframe is not deterministic when an ordinary data frame's transmission is overlapped the superframe boundary. This overlap may be a fatal drawback for strict jitter bounded applications. Circumventing the problem, we propose a frame fragmentation scheme to provide a zero jitter, and compare its delay performance with the hold scheme which also provides the zero jitter. We next concern that IEEE 802.3x pause frames cannot be promptly transmitted in a synchronous period, and thus asynchronous traffics may be dramatically get dropped at the input buffer of a switch. To handle the problem, we propose an efficient flow control by allowing the transmission of the pause frame in a synchronous period, and investigate the blocking probability of the asynchronous traffics by the simulation.
