A Study on Health Behavior of the Populations in Urban and Rural Area (도시·농촌지역 주민의 건강행태에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives: This study was carried out to evaluate the socio-demographic, style of living, and health related behaviors of community residents between urban and rural areas in Jeonbuk province. Methods: The data was obtained from 2,086 residents who lived in Jeonbuk province from July to September 2001 which included 1,238 residents in urban area and 848 residents in rural area. Results: The results were as follows; There were significant differences socio-demographic characteristics including occupation and educational level of the populations between urban and rural areas. In the urban populations, housewives, professional classes, and people who received collage graduate education were significantly higher, people who were engaged in the primary industries and lower educational classes(below middle school), in contrast, were significantly lower than in the rural populations. In the practice of health behavior, consumption of health foods and amount of exercise in urban populations were significantly higher than in the rural, whereas the state of health, prevalence of chronic disease, Body Mass Index(BMI), consumption of ethanol and cigarette, and hours of sleep were not significantly different between the urban and rural populations. In the eating habits, rate of surfeit, vaccination of hepatitis B, and screening of cancer in the urban populations were significantly higher than in the rural, rate of regular meal, taste of salted food, consumption of vegetables, in contrast. were significantly lower than in the rural. But, consumption of coffee, intake of meat, and periodic medical checkup were not significantly different between urban and rural communities. Logistic regression analysis revealed that the factors associated with subjective thought on health state were sex, age, occupation, educational level, exercise, and consumption of coffee. Logistic regression analysis to find related factor with prevalence of chronic disease was conducted. As a results, age, educational level, BMI, intake of meat, screening of cancer, and consumption of health foods were related to prevalence of chronic disease. Conclusions: The study showed that special attention to device the health plan are necessary and it suggested that consideration of regional differences are required to provide the community health projects.

  • 본 연구에서는 도시지역과 농촌지역의 재난안전에 대한 인식을 알아보기 위해 도시와 농촌지역의 재난안전에 관한 현황을 조사하였으며 도시지역에 비해 농촌지역의 재난안전에 관한 의식조사를 실시하였다. 이를 바탕으로 도시지역과 농촌지역의 재난안전도 특성과 개선방안을 검토하였다.

A Study of Nutritional Intake, Eating Habit, Iron Status of Urban and Rural Middle School Girls (도시와 농촌 여중생의 영양섭취상태, 식습관 및 철영양상태 연구)

  • This study was designed to compare the nutritional intake and iron nutritional status between urban and rural middle school girls. Along with a questionnaire, blood samples were obtained from 311 middle school girls (urban 129 girls, rural 182 girls). Nutrient intakes were measured with a convenient method, and clinical symptoms relating anemia was investigated by 4-point Likert scale. For the nutrient intake, the total energy intake was 1722.2 kcal (82.0% of RDA) for the urban group and 1649.5 kcal (78.6% of RDA) for rural group. The rural group showed significantly lower level than the urban group in all nutrients except fat, carbohydrate and total energy intake. Regarding the food frequency, students from the rural group marked significantly lower intake of milk (p<0.00l), kimchi (p<0.05), fruit (p<0.05), tofu, bean (p<0.00l) than the urban group. For every clinical finding regarding anemia, the rural group marked higher value than the urban group but the difference was not significant. The hemoglobin concentration of urban group was 13.28 g/dL, and rural group showed 12.51 g/dL which was significantly lower than urban group (p<0.00l). The hematocrit rate was 37.82% for the urban group and 38.13% for the rural group and there was no significant difference between two groups. The red blood cell (RBC) count of the rural group was significantly lower than the urban group (p<0.00l). Evaluating with the iron deficiency standard which is less than 12 g/dL, the urban group was 6.2% and the rural group was 34.6% thus the deficiency rate was significantly higher in the rural group. This study showed that nutrient and iron status of the girls of rural group is not as good as the urban group. As middle school girls require high level of iron absorption due to blood loss which occurs during abrupt physical growth and menstruation, dietary counselling is required to enhance the iron status. When iron deficiency is serious, they need to take more positive action such as iron supplement in addition to food-iron fortification.

  • 도시민들은 자연과 유리된 생활에 염증을 느끼게 되어 주말과 휴일이면 도시를 탈출하여 대자연과 좀더 가까이 하려 농촌과 어촌의 산, 강, 들, 바다 등의 품속으로 찾아가게 되었다. 앞으로 도시민들이 자연을 찾아 나서는 현상은 증가할 것이며, 도시민의 관광패턴도 현대문화 및 인공조형물을 구경하는 관광에서 점차 대자연속에서 지역의 문화를 직접 체험하면서 즐기는 형태로 변화하기 시작했으며, 동반자도 단체 중심의 대중관광에서 가족중심의 관광이 늘어나고 있으며, 형태도 녹색관광으로 변화되어 가고 있다.

Effects of Nutrition Knowledge and Food Habits on Nutrient Intake in High School Girl Students (도시 및 농촌 여고생의 영양지식과 식습관이 영양소 섭취에 미치는 영향)

  • This nutritional survey was conducted from July to August 1993, in order to investigate the nutrition knowledge, food habits, nutrient intake, and their correlation of high school girl students living in large city, middle and small city, and rural area. The subjects of this survey were 164 students living in large city, Seoul and Pusan, 289 students living in noddle and small city, Chonju and Iksan-City, and 252 students living in rural area, Samnye-Up and Kimje-Kun, Chonbuk-Province. The results obtained are summarized as follows: The perceived nutrition knowledge of large city, middle and small city, and rural area was 80.1%, 83.9%, and 76.0%, respectively, and their accuracy was 62.0%, 64.2%, 56.3% respectively The nutritional knowledge score of large city, middle and small city, and rural area was 14.90, 16.16, 12.84, respectively. The nutrition knowledge score was significant among large city, middle and small city, and rural area. The correlation coefficient between nutrition knowledge and food habits was significant among large city, and middle and small city students. The food habits score of rural area subjects were lowest. The correlation between food habit and calcium, vitamin 4 and vitamin C were significant among large city girls. In rural students the correlation between food habits and protein, phosphorus, iron, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, and vitamin C was significant.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 농산물 수입개방에 대한 소비자 의식과 농산물을 구매할 때의 평가기준, 구매 이유 등의 구매태도가 농촌과 도시 소비자간에 어떤 차이를 보이는가를 조사함으로써 급속히 변화된 국제시장환경에 대처하기 위한 소비자측면의 기초자료를 제공하는데 있다. 조사대상은 서울, 인천, 김포 지역에 거주하는 20세 이상의 남녀 214명이었으며 조사도구는 설문지를 사용하였고, 분석방법은 SPSS PC 프로그램을 이용하여 지역간의 차이를 $X^2로$ 검정하였다. 농촌 소비자가 도시 소비자보다 농산물 시장개방에 대하여 더 큰 피해 의식을 가지고 있었으며 이에 대한 대응방안에 대하여도 도시소비자는 재래품종개발, 공산품위주의 산업구조 편성, 유통절차의 간소화로 응답한 반면 농촌소비자는 식량안정지급에 필요한 주곡류 육성, 정부지원 등으로 응답하였다. 또한 구매 태도에서는 우리 농산물의 품질을 인정하면서도 도시와 농촌이 모두 가격이 싼 수입 농산물을 선호하는 양상을 보였으며 구매장소, 평가기준 등에는 도시와 농촌간에 차이를 보였다.

Comparison of dietary behavior, changes of diet, and food intake between 40~59 years old subjects living in urban and rural areas in Lao PDR (라오스 도시·농촌 지역별 40~59세 주민들의 식행동, 식생활변화 및 식품섭취 비교 연구)

  • Purpose: The current study was conducted for evaluation and comparison of dietary behavior and food intake in different regions of Lao PDR. Methods: The survey was conducted on 979 people aged 40~59 years old living in 25 urban provinces and 25 rural provinces in four districts (VTE Capital-Chanthabuly, Xaysetha, VTE Province-Phonhong, and Thoulakhom) of Laos. General demographic information, health status, and dietary behavior were surveyed using a questionnaire. Results: The literacy ratio (p = 0.000), education level (p = 0.000), asset ownership level (p = 0.000), and government and private employee ratio (p = 0.000) were higher in urban subjects compared with rural subjects. The mean value of weight (p = 0.000), waist circumference (p = 0.000), and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.009) and alcohol consumption (p = 0.000), self-rated health status (p = 0.001), and the rate of obesity (p = 0.000) were significantly higher in urban subjects compared with rural subjects. However, the rate of current smoker was significantly higher in the rural group (p = 0.023). Meals are becoming more westernized by higher frequency of eating out, consumption of fatty meat and fried or stir-fried food in urban areas compared to rural areas. Urban subjects had relatively better balanced meals compared to rural subjects whereas they consumed insufficient meals per day and consumed meals irregularly compared to rural subjects. Intake of fruit and milk was significantly higher in urban subjects compared with rural subjects. However, the intake of vegetables was significantly higher in rural areas than urban areas. Conclusion: The result of this study showed that the traditional Lao diet is being replaced by an unhealthy western dietary pattern, which may be a risk factor for increasing development of non-communicable disease (NCD) in Lao PDR. Planning of proper personalized nutritional intervention and education in each area is needed to decrease the health risks of NCD.

The Comparison of the Environment Consciousness and the Disposal Behavior Between the Urban Children and the Rural Children (아동의 환경의식과 처분행동에 관한연구 -도시와 농촌간의 비교연구-)

  • 본연구의 목적은 아동의 환경의식과 처분행동을 조사하여 환경문제에 대한 아동의 역할을 조명하고 조기환경교육의 기초자료를 제공하는데 있다 조사도구는 질문지를 이용하 였고 분석방법은 SAS통계프로그램을 이용하였다 환경의시과 처분행동의 차이는 ANOVA와 Tukey test를 지역간(도시, 농촌)의 차이는 t-test 와 $\chi$2 검정을 사용하였다 분석에 이용된 자료는 도시 311부 농촌 299부로 총 610부였다 본연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다 1) 도시와 농촌간의 환경의식은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없이 모두 높게 나타났다 2) 인구통 계변수에 따른 환경의식은 생활수준과어머니의 교육수준이 높을수록 높았으며 주거형태별로 는 아파트 거주자가 높게 나타났다 3) 도시와 농촌간의 처분행동은 유의적인 차이를 보였는 데 도시 지역이 높게 나타났다 4) 인구통계변수에 따른 처분행동은 환경의식과 마찬가지로 소득과 어머니의 교육수준이 높을수록 높았으며 아파트 거주자와 종교가 있느 아동이 높게 나타났다 이러한 결과는 환경을 고려하는 행동양식의선행변수가 교육임을 재확인해주었다

  • 농촌주민(農村住民) 400명(名) 도시주민(都市住民) 600명(名)에 대한 혈액(血液) 및 혈청학적검사(血淸學的檢査)를 통하여 그 건강상태(健康狀態)를 조사(調査)한바 다음과 같은 성적을 얻었다. 지역별(地域別) 각종검사(各種檢査)의 평균치(平均値)는 농촌남자(農村男子)에서 적혈구수(赤血球數), 혈색소량(血色素量), 적혈구용적치(赤血球容積値)들은 도시주민(都市住民)이 농촌주민(農村住民)에 비(比)하여 높았고 백혈구수(白血球數)는 농촌주민(農村住民)에서 높았다. 신기능검사(腎機能檢査)에서 혈중요소질소치(血中尿素窒素値) 및 creatinine치(値)는 도시주민(都市住民)에서 높았고 간기능검사(肝機能檢査)에서는 총단백질량(總蛋白質量), bilirubin 및 alkaline phosphatase치(値)는 도시주민(都市住民)에서 albumin, SGOT는 농촌주민(農村住民)에서 높았다. 기타(其他)범주에서는 혈중(血中) calcium은 도시주민(都市住民)에서 인(燐), 혈당(血糖) 및 cholesterol(値)는 농촌주민(農村住民)에서 높았다. 평균치(平均値)는 성별차이(性別差異)에서는 농촌(農村), 도시(都市) 모두 남자(男子)의 평균치(平均値)가 총단백질치(總蛋白質値) 및 인치(燐値)를 제(除)하고는 모두 남자(男子)에서 높았다. 다음으로 각검사치(各檢査値)의 정상범위(正常範圍)에 대한 이상치율(異常値率)을 보면 농촌남자(農村男子)에서 적혈구용적치(赤血球容積値)에서 정상범위(正常範圍)가 하치율(下値率)이 도시남자(都市男子)에 비하여 높았으나 백혈구수치(白血球數値)는 농촌주민(農村住民)에서 정상범위이상치(正常範圍以上値)가 높았다. 혈중요소실요치(血中尿素窒素値)는 정상범위이상(正常範圍以上), 이하치간(以下値間)이나 도농주민간(都農住民間)에 별차이(別差異)가 없었고 creatinine은 도시주민(都市住民)에서 이상치율(異常値率)이 높았다. 간기능검사(肝機能檢査)에서는 총단백(總蛋白), alkaline phosphatase는 도시주민(都市住民)에서 정상범위이상치(正常範圍以上値)가 고율(高率)인데 반(反)하여 albumine SGOT 및 SGPT는 농촌주민(農村住民)에서 이상치율(以上値率)이 높았다. 기타(其他)범주에서는 calcium은 도시주민(都市住民)에서 인(燐) 및 혈당치(血糖値)는 농촌주민(農村住民)에서 정상범위이상치율(正常範圍以上値率)이 높았고 cholesterol치는 정상범위이하(正常範圍以下) 및 이상치(以上値) 모두 도시주민(都市住民)에서 고율(高率)이었다. 여자(女子)에서는 혈액상(血液相)에서는 남자(男子)에 비(比)하여 정상범위이상치(正常範圍以上値)의 빈도(頻度)가 더욱 심하였으나 기타치(其他値)에서는 남자(男子)에 비(比)하여 도농간(都農間)의 차이(差異)가 적은점(點)을 제외(除外)하고는 거의 같은 경향(傾向)을 나타내었다.
