Analyzing the Operational Efficiency of South Korea Wholesalers and Retailers during COVID-19 period (Q1 to Q2 2020) (우리나라 도소매기업의 운영효율성에 대한 실증분석: 코로나19 기간(2020년 1~2분기)을 중심으로)

  • We analyze the performance of South Korea wholesalers and retailers during the period when COVID-19 emerged and began to spread in South Korea. Specifically, we choose operational efficiency as a proxy variable for reflecting corporate performance and apply stochastic frontier analysis for estimating operational efficiency. Importantly, in order to examine the impact of the COVID-19 period (Q1 to Q2 2020) on operational efficiency, we consider the quarterly fixed effect corresponding to the COVID-19 period. Our findings include: (ⅰ) the average level of operational ffficiency is approximately 0.7138 during the analysis period (Q1 2019 to Q2 2020); (ⅱ) the fixed effect of the COVID-19 period on operational efficiency is not significant; and (ⅲ) operational efficiency is positively correlated with the scale of the company. Moreover, from an academic perspective, we make a contribution by examining the relationship between the operational efficiency as a firm-level variable and the COVID-19 period as a macroeconomic variable.

  • 이윤추구를 목표로 하는 기업의 모든 활동에는 매출, 매입 등의 다양한 정보가 지속적으로 발생한다. 이렇게 생성된 정보는 CEO에게 작게는 영업사원의 실적을 평가하는 요소이며 크게는 전체적인 시장상황을 직시할 수 있는 신뢰 높은 데이터가 되므로 효율적으로 관리할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 급변하는 시장 속에서도 유연하게 대처할 수 있는 영업 전략을 수립하고, 근태관리프로세스를 통한 각 사원의 회사에 대한 기여도를 체크 하는 등 CEO가 전반적인 기업운영을 효율적으로 할 수 있도록 하며, 각 사원이 자신의 영업이익과 거래처에 대한 신뢰도를 평가 할 수 있는 시스템을 구축하고자 한다. 본 시스템은 온라인을 기반으로 데이터가 실시간으로 공유될 수 있도록 구성되어 있으며, 각 사원이 갖는 권한에 따라 정보열람이 제한 되도록 하였다.

  • Every activity of companies whose goal is pursuit of profits occurs much information such as buying and selling consistently. This information is a factor that evaluates employees' results at least and can be a highly trusted data for facing an overall market conditions at large for CEO, so it should be managed efficiently. This paper helps CEO to run a business efficiently by establishing the business strategy for dealing flexibly and checking the level of contribution of each of employees through the management process in the rapidly changing market and it tries to construct the system that employees can evaluate their business profits and is able to evaluate the reliability of connections. This system is based on On-line, able to share data in real time, and limits an employees' authority for access capability of information.

The Effects of High Commitment HRM on the Service Performance: Mediating Effect of Internal Innovation Direction (고몰입 인적자원관리가 서비스성과에 미치는 영향과 내적혁신방향의 매개효과)

  • This study is to examine the effects of high commitment HRM on service performance in the service industry, and to examine the mediating effect of the organizational internal innovation direction. Specifically, the direction of internal innovation consists of high-value-added HR and service and cost-reduction downsizing. We assumed that the high-value-added direction of HR and service will have a positive mediating effect. And assumed that cost-reduction downsizing direction has negative mediating effect. The data were collected from 2013 workplace panel survey(WPS) of the Korea Labor Institute(KLI). Among the 1,775 companies, 896 companies classified as wholesale and retail, transportation, professional scientific services, education services, health social services, financial services, and other services (such as information society support services) were extracted and used. In summary, high-commitment HRM has a positively significant effect on the direction of high value-added innovation of HR and services, and has a negatively significant effect on the cost-reduction downsizing direction. In addition, the direction of high value-added innovation of HR and service was positive effect on service performance, and cost-reduction downsizing innovation direction has a negative effect on service performance. And the direct effect of high commitment HRM on service performance has not been confirmed. However, we confirmed the positive mediating effect of high value-added innovation direction of HR and services, and confirmed that the negative mediating effect of cost-reduction downsizing. Therefore, it is confirmed that the two variables have a full mediating effect on the relationship between high commitment HRM and service performance.
