  • The purpose of this study is to increase the effective utilization of library homepages by providing design guidelines. Seven of the library homepages are selected and have their menus of library homepages do share Each library homepage has it's own distinct characteristics, however the library homepages do share five common services : User Service. OPAC, CD-ROM Search, DB Search, Related Sites, Other Services. The result of this study can be used as the basic data for researching of library homepage's interface designs and collection development of electronic information.

  • 현재 공공도서관에서는 홈페이지를 통한 이용자 교육 프로그램이 미비한 실정으로, 이 연구에서는 현재 도서관 홈페이지에서 제공하는 이용자 교육관련 항목들을 분석하여 향후 공공도서관 홈페이지를 이용한 이용자 교육 프로그램의 발전을 위한 제언을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 기존 문헌에서의 평가 기준과 전문가의 자문을 통하여 공공도서관 홈페이지의 이용자 교육관련 항목에 대한 분석기준을 확립하고, 이에 따라 공공도서관 홈페이지의 이용자 교육관련 항목들을 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 공공도서관 홈페이지 이용자 교육에서 필요한 사항들에 대해 제언하고자 한다.

  • Most people choose Internet search engine first more than the library for their information search in these days. Many users do not know library homepage's content. How to improve the users in library homepage? This study aims to suggest the direction of library homepage service in Web 2.0. For this study the author analyzed library homepage that is introducing some representative Web 2.0 and other Web 2.0 sites. AJAX, RSS, Open API, MashUp, Wikis, Blog are the main technologies in Web 2.0. Those technologies become a tool that can do user centered library homepage. But, more important thing is information production that introduce to users. Web 2.0 suggests good information transfer for users. It needs to produce the information that stimulates the library user. It means that Web 2.0 give a good opportunity for libraries as an information production.

  • According to analysis of responses to the user's demand of theological seminary libraries, the best category of demands is ‘Circulations’ and acceptancy is ‘Electroic Collections.’And the highest type of acceptancy is ‘Improvement of Services.’It is necessary to raise the current acceptancy rate of 49.6% up to 70∼80% which leads to high level of user satisfaction in the university libraries.

  • University library user's needs and complains are delivered to librarians through the homepage BBS. The purpose of this study is to examine the user's needs and complains in BBS. Twelve domestic university libraries and three foreign university libraries are analyzed. And the result of this study will be useful for developing the library system for end users.

  • The world has rapidly become culturally diverse, and Korea has gradually grown into a multicultural society, mainly due to marriage immigrants and foreign laborers, whose number exceeds over one million nationally. Their adjustment and acculturation in Korea, however, dose'nt seem painless and untroubled, and public libraries are in duty to provide multicultural service for these population. Providing useful services on the homepage makes it possible for users to find the information they need without having to visit the actual library. A more detailed research will be conducted by examining the multicultural services provided by the public libraries in Australia, Canada, the United States, and Japan, the leading multicultural societies. The further examination will be conducted on these libraries in terms of four aspects, that is, information, literacy, education, and culture, as declared by Public Library Menifesto. In Korea, translation and interpretation services, homework help, child literacy are necessary services at the public library, Management of independent multicultural site, shared services between Regional Central Library and Community Public Library, cooperation with libraries, government and organization will be helpful to multicultural library services.

  • 본 연구는 국내외 도서관의 소셜네트워크 서비스 현황을 살펴보고, 노드엑셀을 이용한 네트워크 분석 기법을 통해, 도서관 소셜미디어 활용도에 대해 조사하였다. 국내에서 소셜미디어 홍보를 제일 적극적으로 하고 있는 P대학의 트위터를 노드엑셀을 통해 매개중심성으로 분석해 본 결과 상위 파워트위터리안들을 알 수 있었으며, 추후 도서관 마켓팅에서 핵심이용자로 적극 관리할 필요성이 있음을 보여주고 있다. 홈페이지 이용도는 국내 의과대학 중 의학도서관 홈페이지상에 데이터베이스로 직접 URL 연동되어 있는 K대학 홈페이지를 보손(Voson)과 노드엑셀 네트워크 분석방법을 이용하여 분석해 본 결과, 상업출판사외에 NDSL이 가장 상위로 랭크되어 홈페이지의 활용도가 높음을 알 수 있었다.

  • This study examines the access points for electronic reference service system displayed on the home pages of academic libraries. Library home pages of national/public and private universities were examined, and these were classified into three groups according to the methods of displaying access points on the homepages. The advantages and disadvantages of each group were discussed and some suggestions were made for the user-friendliness and accessibility for the electronic reference service.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide directions for more effective and efficient service for library user by evaluating and analyzing library service access points on university library homepages. 69 national/public and private university libraries throughout the country are selected by stratified sampling method. The items used for evaluation are composed of 4 areas and 23 questions, and SPSS 12.0 is used for statistical analysis. The results are elicited through the hypothesis testing, and some suggestions are made for the effective university library homepage service.
