The National Library of Korea installs and operates various signs for the purpose of efficient use of visitor and information transmission. In this study, the present status of the existing signatures of the National Library of Korea was surveyed and the satisfaction survey was conducted for the patron and staff. Based on this, we suggested the improvement of visual continuity (connectivity), changing the installation location, reduction of excess sign, limitations of temporary attachment signatures, and easy to understand contents as user's guide to efficient library use and improvement of National Central Library sign system.

Many digital libraries are constructed for effective management and use of information resources around the world nowadays. While constructing these systems, it is possible to reduce the time, efforts and expenses through getting interoperability by applying the standards. MIRAGE는 XML을 기반으로 하는 가상문서라는 개념을 도입하여 인터넷 상의 정보 공유를 가능하게 하여 새로운 지식을 생성할 수 있도록 한 디지털도서관 시스템이다. OAI는 컨텐츠에 대한 메타데이터를 이용해서 디지털도서관 안에 있는 정보를 상호이용하기 위한 프로토콜이다. 본 논문에서는 MIRAGE에 OAI 지원 기능을 첨가하여 MIRAGE 시스템에 의해 만들어진 가상문서에 대한 메타데이터를 제공하는 data provider를 구현하여 다른 디지털도서관과 더불어 정보를 상호이용할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 원문에 대한 접근을 원하는 사용자를 위해서 메타데이터의 원문에 직접 접근할 수 있도록 하였다.

The purpose of this study is to review information services in public libraries based on web sites. Four evaluation criteria. interface. searching, contents and communication are usually used to measure web sites. Because interface and searching are contained hardware elements, these are not included to this review. For this study contents and communication are examined into operating at public libraries web sites. Also analyzed is gateway function providing community information services and researchers information.

Since the 1990s, discussions regarding green libraries started in the U.S.A, in the name of 'library and the environment', 'Green librarians', 'constructing of environmental sources', 'noise and library', 'building libraries as an environmental alternative' and etc. Currently, green libraries certified by an evaluation system are more than 50. This study proposes a direction to build a green library. The study analyzes national and international green libraries certified by the evaluation system. The cases are analyzed based on the six evaluation factors in the LEED certification system; Sustainable Site, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Material and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, Innovation and Design Process. Since the evaluation system focuses mainly on the architectural aspects, there was a need of expanding the concept of eco-friendly in this research. The newly expanded eco-friendly concept includes services, content, and supplies of libraries.

기존의 도서관 정보서비스는 도서관 업무담당자에 의한 1:n 방식의 온라인 지식서비스만을 강조하였다면 스마트 도서관시스템에서는 빅데이터를 통해 지식을 생성, 검증, 분류하여 지능형지식, 실감형지식, 맞춤형지식, 체험형지식 등을 제공할 수 있다. 또한 빅데이터를 활용한 다자간 콘텐츠 공유, 상호 의견 교환이 가능하며, 집단지성에 의해 구축되는 학습 콘텐츠 및 지식 베이스는 국가의 지식자원 경쟁력을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 차세대 이러닝 환경에서의 지능형 튜터링을 통해 창의적 인재육성, 공교육의 질적 향상, 사교육비 절감, 교육 기회 균등 배분, 지역 및 계층 간 위화감 해소 등 국가정책 목표 실현할 수 있다. 제안된 빅데이터 기반의 스마트도서관 정보서비스시스템에서는 멀티테넌트 환경에서 구현이 가능한 핵심요소들을 개발하였다. 그러므로 초기 투자비용이 거의 없고, 쉽고, 간편하며, 저비용 IT 서비스가 가능한 SaaS 기반의 소프트웨어 온-디멘드 방식의 서비스 모델로 시스템을 구현하였다. 또한 연결방식으로는 N고객:1인스턴스, 제공 프로그램은 동일한 코드 사용, 커스터마이징은 고객이 테넌트별 환경 설정을 통해서 직접 수정가능, 데이터는 테넌트별 자료를 공유해서 사용할 수 있으며 기존의 디지털도서관 시스템 서비스의 단점을 해결할 수 있도록 성능을 개선하였다.

National libraries are responsible for collecting all publications issued in their respective countries. But national libraries vary widely in their origins and functions. In one or another form they are found in more than a hundred countries. The purpose of this paper is to suggest the backgrounds and theoretical informations to restructuring the completely centralized organizational framework of National Library of Korea. In order to achieve this goal. the national library systems of four culturally advanced countries, that is, British Library, Die Deutsche Bibliothek, Bibliotheque nationale de France, National Diet Library are analysed with respect to the grounds of main library, regional libraries. departmental or subject libraries, branch libraries, and their mutual relation.

The purpose of this paper Is to describe the matters to plan the best information systems in Korean old books. It analyzes: i) a range of definition of old books, ii) its characteristics and current state of processing the old documents, iii) the scope of automation and building up the library institution, iv) the construction of Korean old books Information systems, v) its case study, and vi) the evaluation and vision of system. The old document information system have been organized on the basis of library networks systems with the National Central Library as leader, its implemented system has the subsystem such as cataloging system, annotation system, full-text or image-based system, and retrieval system. In case study, it is suggested two examples which has been built in the National Central Library and Sung Kyun Kwan university. finally, it provides the evaluation criteria and vision for the library which designs the old document information systems.

대학도서관에서는 외부지식 뿐만 아니라 내재된 지식까지도 생성하여 축적하거나, 정보의 소유 개념에서 공유 개념을 기반으로 하는 고객 중심의 시스템으로 등장하고 있는 지식관기시스템 도입의 필요성이 제기되어 왔다. 본고에서는 전통적 시스템의 문제점으로부터 KMS의 필요성을 도출하고 현재 KMS를 도입하여 운영하고 있는 국내외 대학도서관 사례를 살펴보고, 향후 대학도서관 지식관리시스템 성공적인 구축방안을 모색하고자 한다.

본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 환경에 발맞춰 도서관에 적용되고 있는 RFID 시스템에 대한 기술적 개요와 유용성에 대해 고찰하고, 국내 외 도서관 현황과 현 RFID 시스템의 비교분석 및 사례조사를 통해 기존 RFID 도서관리 시스템의 문제점을 도출하였다. UHF 대역 RFID를 통하여 기존 문제점의 해결 방안을 제시하였으며, 구체적인 시스템 설계를 통해 업무의 효율성 및 이용자 편의성을 RFID 및 USN 기술을 통하여 향상시키는 방을 제시하였다. 본 논문은 정보이용자에 대한 서비스 및 관리 측면에서 효율성을 극대화하여 도서관 선진화를 추구하고자 하였다.
