A Study on the Analysis of Circulation and Usage of Law Library Collection: A Case Study of Law Library in S University (법학도서관 장서의 대출현황 분석 및 이용에 관한 연구 - S 대학 법학도서관을 중심으로 -)

  • In this study, we analyzed Circulation data of Law library in the S university for one year in 2018 and analyzed whether the Library holdings are actually used for education and research. First of all, this study analyzed user patterns by analyzing subjects, languages, and publication years for books that were circulated for one year from the ALMA system which is an S university library system. In addition, we analyzed how the current library holdings were used or cited in course syllabi and research papers written by members in S university. The results from this study can be used as an important basic data for effective collection development.

  • The purpose of this study is to prepare basic data for establishing a mid-to long-term comprehensive development plan for Gangdong-gu libraries by analyzing the results of a perception survey conducted on local residents, librarians and operators. To achieve the research purpose, a survey was conducted targeting 1,224 library users and non-users in Gangdong-gu. To collect more in-depth opinions, focus group interviews were also conducted with local residents, librarians at public libraries and book cafe libraries, and operators of small libraries. As a result, for the efficient operation of the Gangdong-gu library, it is necessary to establish the role of each library to adjust and reorganize specialization to form an ecosystem, to introduce services and programs without time and space restrictions required in the information society, and to actively promote and attract non-users to the library. The conclusion drawn is that it is necessary to establish a system and support system that can encompass various types of libraries.

A Study on Academic Library User's Information Literacy (학술연구정보 이용자에 관한 연구: 정보요구, 정보이용행태, 정보활용능력을 중심으로)

  • This study reviews academic library users' information needs, use behaviors, and information literacy by examining previous literature related to academic library use study. The information academic library users want most is information about how to use library such as a circulation policy. Only about 10% of library users' information needs requires reference librarian's professional knowledge and skills. The sign and information system of the library should be improved and revised in order to reduce the redundant how-to questions. When academic library users attempt to do subject searches through online library system, they experience difficulties to find the right menu on the library's interface. The study recommends that special efforts should be made for user education for utilizing research information since user's information utilizing ability is unexpectedly low.

A Study on the Construction of Bibliographic Items of DLS (DLS의 서지적 기술항목 구성에 관한 연구)

  • In order to overcome the limitations of the current DLS bibliographic items and to solve the problems in the use of school library collections, this study proposed descriptive items that can reflect the bibliographic and educational characteristics of school library collections. These items were reconstructed based on the ISBD bibliographic areas by unifying and integrating the data input method, which is currently separated into general mode and expert mode in current DLS structure. In addition, a total of 10 upper-level items and 34 lower-level items were organized through a hierarchical structure for the bibliographic and educational aspects of school library collections. This is expected to complement the limitations of the current DLS and to reflect the unique bibliographical and educational characteristics of school libraries, thereby establishing a bibliographic environment that can efficiently support the functions of school libraries.

A Study on Evaluating Digital Illusion Level of Public Library (공공도서관의 디지털 통합 수준 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study tends to apprehend how much public library contributes to a role of upbuilder of digital integrated local society through a survey. For this, I performed the survey on 935 organization of public library in the whole country registered in national library statistical system. As a result, firstly, it's apprehended that equipment infra, Internet infra, etc like computer, laptop, scanner, tablet PC, etc are in relatively high level. Secondly, service or resource like electronic book, digital and virtual reference service, library service mobile App, etc that users can use are in relatively high level but software supporting cooperation and group task, fusibility of participating space, etc are shown very low level. Thirdly, the rate of literacy training relating to technology were only 22.4%, education subject focused on resource searching subject and somewhat future-oriented technical education like directions of video conference technique, cloud computing application education, etc wasn't conducted. Finally, we should consider expansion of providing technology and equipment and provision of future-oriented service and education according to a flow of the time that needs to seek change in various roles of library as enjoying culture space or creative space.

  • DLS(Digital Library System) have been established by Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development for providing the application services to each school library managers(teacher librarian) and front end users such as students and teachers. DLS's are separately operated by 15 major metropolitan or provincial office of education to cover all elementary, middle and high schools in Korea. There is a necessity which it will analyze the current status of DLS because it's system after starting a service 2 years passed. This study suggested to improvements strategies of DLS by survey from teacher librarian, subject teacher, students of 308 schools.

  • This study is supposed to the way to add and enlarge the elements related to educational domain in metadata of school library information system (DLS) by using the concept of learning object which the education information service agencies have adapted. This study is to propose the methods which can be accessed according to the units of learning content in order that they can be applied to the teaching and learning situations, and describe and index the total traits of interior data elements included in the information resources. Thus, the metadata of the existing DLS through the additional elements : , , and was made to access the information resources according to the teaching and learning situations and to accept the concept of interior learning units by means of the element.

  • 전자도서관과 LOD 기술을 접목한 웹기반 교육 시스템의 연구는 몇 년 동안 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 특히, 멀티미디어 기술 및 컴퓨터 통신 기술 개발의 가속화 및 이을 응용한 컨텐츠 개발에 촉진제 역할을 하게된 웹의 탄생은 교수-학습 활동에서의 교육형태로 인식할 수 있는 전환점을 제공하게 되었고, 웹을 기반으로 한 교육(WBI: Web-Based Instruction)이라는 새로운 교수 모형이 제시되기에 이르렀다. 또한, 최근에 학습자의 요구에 맞는 코스웨어 주문이 증가되고 있는 추세이며 그에 따라 웹 기반 교육 시스템의 효율적이고 자동화된 교율 에이전트의 필요성이 인식되어 있다. 그러나 현재 연구되고 있는 많은 교육 시스템들은 학습자 성향에 맞는 코스를 적절히 서비스 해지 못할 뿐 아니라 지속적인 피드백과 학습자가 코스를 학습함에 있어서 취약한 부분을 재학습 할 수 있도록 도와주는 서비스를 제공하지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 학습자의 학습 모니터링과 지속적인 학습평가에 의하여 개인 학습자의 학습 성취도를 계산하여 학습자에게 적합한 코스 스케쥴을 제공해 주는 코스 스케쥴링 멀티 에이전트를 제안하고자 한다.

인터넷을 통한 산업보건의 정보수집

  • 인터넷은 한마디로 "정보의 바다"라고 할 수 있다. 다른 방향에서 본다면 인터넷이란 하나의 거대한 도서관이라고도 할 수 있다. 도서관에서는 각 정보를 색인화하여 쉽게 정보를 찾아 볼수 있게 되어 있고 새로운 정보가 나오면 추가로 색인을 재 정리하는 시스템으로 되어 있다. 인터넷도 도서관의 색인 시스템과 마ㅏㄴ가지로 전세계의 전산망 특히 산업보건과 관련된 기관에 접속하여 키보드로 산업보건정보를 찾을수 있게 되어 있다. 그렇다면 우리가 어떻게 전세계에 산재되어 있는 대형, 소형, IBM, 매킨토시 컴퓨터의 전산망에 접근하여 정보를 찾아 낼 수 있는가? 하고 의문을 갖는 사람들이 있을 것이다. 인터넷이 바로 그것을 가능하게 해준다. 그러면 어떻게 인터넷에 접근을 할 수 있는가? 많은 대학의 전산망, 교육망, 연구망을 통해 인터넷에 연결되어 있고 여러가지 상업서비스도 생겨나서 인터넷접속이 얼마든지 가능하다. 그러나 여기에는 또 한가지의 문제가 있다. 인터넷은 UNIX 운영시스템으로 구성되어 있기 때문에 약간의 UNIX언어를 알아야 인터넷 접근이 가능하다는 것이다. 이런한 문제 때문에 일반인들은 인터넷의 접근을 회피하게 된다. 그러나 이러한 단점은 World Wide Web(WWW)와 Web browser라는 프로그램이 나오면서 해결되었고 요즈음 일반적으로 많이 사용하고 있는browser는 Mosaic과 Netscape라는 프로그램이다. Netscape은 UNIX운영시스템이 탑재된 work station이나 대형컴퓨터에 보다 많이 이용되고 일반 개인용컴퓨터 사용자는 Mosaic 프로그램 버그(bug)가 적기 때문에 주로 사용하고 있다. Netscape도 사용법에 있어서는 Mosaic과 별 차이가 없다. 필자는 Netscape보다는 Mosaic을 주로 사용해 왔기 때문에 Mosaic을 이용하여 인터넷에 접근하는 방법과 필자가 접속해 본 미국의 산업보건관련 기관을 소개하고자 한다.

Study of Contents Development of Information Literacy with Delphi Survey (델파이 조사를 이용한 정보활용능력 교육 항목 개발 연구)

  • In this study, I worked on necessary contents for Information Literacy of Korean universities by Delphi Method. The survey resulted in 100 necessary contents in five categories and each category presents average points and ranks of importance. Contents of high rank in each category should be valued highly when educational programs are to be designed. One remarkable difference in comparison with ACRL standards is that there are a lot of contents involved with basic understanding about Scientific Information System and Information Technology and knowledge application in this study, and another is that there is a lack of contents which require analytic judgements. The significance of this study lies in presenting directions and discussion points in designing of Information Literacy of Korean universities.
