Korea is a record powerhouse nation with the largest number of Memory of the World in the Asia-Pacific; however, active utilization of archives for future generations has been lacking. Therefore, this study sought to enhance interest in archives and utilize them directly in school lessons. The Korean National Debt Redemption Movement's archives, which were selected as a Memory of the World, were used in the school lessons, and based on them, a library collaborative instruction design was developed. A library collaborative instruction is a collaboration between the high school Korean history subject and the library information literacy instruction, designed in three sessions. Through the literature research-based design, a library collaborative instruction plan, teaching and learning plan, and activity sheets were derived. Implementing this designed library collaborative instruction is expected to stimulate interest in the Memory of the World, linking curriculum and archives at schools and significantly expanding the users of the archives into teachers and students.

당신에게도 도서관은 어떤 의미인가? 당신의 기억 속 그곳은 입시나 취업준비의 중압감을 안고 공부했던 곳, 혹은 보고 싶은 책은 항상 대출 중인 휑한 곳이 아니었던가. 현재 상황도 별반 다르지는 않다. 작은 도서관 운동등 변화를 시도하는 움직임이 늘곤 있지만, 아직까지 우리의 공공 도서관은 멀고, 협소하고, 자료도 별로 없는 초라한 형색이다. 하지만 도서관의 궁핍한 처지를 탓하기 전에 자신에게 한번 물어보라. 바쁜 일상과 먼 거리를 핑계 삼아 '도서관은 나와 상관없는 곳'으로 치부하지는 않았는지 말이다.

This research allows purpose to illuminate Reading Popularization Movement and readers' interest in the 1960's. This period, there were scientific and national interests about 'Reading' as culture from society whole as well as on public education situation. This research describes reading and phenomenons of reading education on the basis of newspaper data mainly in the 1960's, observed formation process of kind of 'Reading society' in sociological side. Detailed research contents as following same. First, it was studied readers' interest, 1) general readers' interest, 2) student readers' interest. Second, it was investigated reading movement, 1) the library and reading movement, 2) village library and reading campaign.

어린이도서관에 대한 사회적 관심이 증폭되고 있다. 올해 초부터 MBC TV '!느낌표‘의 ’기적의 도서관 프로젝트‘가 가동되었고, 지난 2월 20일 서울시 노원구청에서는 지자체 최초의 어린이도서관인 ’노원어린이도서관‘을 개관한 바 있다. 이렇듯 어린이도서관 만들기 운동은 전국의 어린이들과 아동교육 관계자들의 뜨거운 지지와 격려를 받고 있다. 이와 관련해 지난 3월 12일 부산여자대학에서 어린이도서관을 개관했다는 소식을 접했다. 대학에서 어린이도서관을 개관했다기에 본지에서 이에 대한 내용을 좀 더 자세히 다루고자 부산여자대학 정영재 어린이도서관장과 서면인터뷰를 하였다.

This research purpose to investigate aspect of reading movement and readers' interest in the period of 2000's, This is succession research that is the Japanese Occupation Period, after release, the 1950s, the 1960s, the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s. Through such series, namly, reading phenomenon analyzing comparison, is to find present address of reading popularization movement and reading education. In main discourse, First, investigated reading movement, in the period of 2000's(1. the reading movement of library and public institution, 2. the reading movement of bookstore and medium, and several organization's, 3. student reading movement and school reading education). Second, readers' interest observed in the period of 2000's.(1. ordinary readers' interest, 2. student readers' interest). If we correct judgment about reading phenomenon from now. It will be foundation that unfold reading education more effectively.

이 자료는 9월 25일 녹색소비자문제연구원(원장 김성희 · 광주시 소재 소비자운동단체)이 개최한 "광주광역시립도서관 민간위탁 관련 시민단체 토론회"에서 발표된 내용을 요약한 것으로, 이날 토론회에는 홍현진(전남대 문헌정보학과) 교수, 조수웅(광주광역시의회)의원, 박춘균(광주광역시무등도서관)사서과장, 이용훈(한국도서관협회) 기획부장 등이 참석, 8월 초 광주광역시가 현재 운영하고 있는 2개도서관과 앞으로 개관할 예정인 1개 도서관의 운영을 민간에 위탁하기로 신문지상에 신청자모집광고를 내면서 (관련기사 지난호 57쪽 참조) 중대한 사안으로 떠오른 「공공도서관의 민간위탁」에 대한 논의가 있었다. ■편집자주

1999년도에는 지난해에 이어서 우리 도서관계에 여러 해결해야 할 당면 문제점들이 많이 남아있다. 우리 도서관계는 올 한해 공공도서관의 명칭변경 및 민간위탁 문제, 대학도서관의 전자계산소와의 명칭 및 기능 통폐합, 전문ㆍ특수 도서관의 조직 및 기능 축소 등 여러 가지 어려움을 해결해나가는 일 뿐만이 아니라, 정보화 사회에서 지식사회에로의 전환을 앞둔 시기에 도서관 스스로의 부가가치를 창출하기 위한 많은 노력을 기울여야 할 것으로 생각된다. 이에 우리 협회에서는 본 지면을 통하여 도서관계 각 단체의 올 한해 각오와 사업방향 등을 알아보았다.
