  • Most CCTVs operated by public institutions for crime prevention and parking enforcement are located on roads. The angle of these CCTV's view is often changed for various reasons, such as bolt loosening by vibration or shocking by vehicles and workers, etc. In order to effectively provide AI services based on the collected images, the service target area(ROI, Region Of Interest) must be provided without interruption within the image. This is also related to the viewpoint of effective operation of computing power for image analysis. This study explains how to maximize the application of artificial intelligence technology by setting the ROI based on the marker on the road, setting the image analysis to be possible only within the area, and studying the process of finding the ROI.

  • This paper is proposed that roadway recognition performance improvement for autonomous vehicle using magnetic markers that are embedded along the road center and the sensors mounted on a vehicle, and which changing of magnetic field that is measured along with vehicle driving. For Retrenchment of equipment cost, interval of markers is more expensive than existing method. In order to this, This paper is proposed that interval of markers is founded using magnetic field analysis, and which arrangement method of six magnetic sensors and control method of neural network. This paper is carried out magnetic field analysis, the acquiring of the training patterns, the training of the neural network and composition of steering control, and is verified that roadway recognition performance can improve using computer simulation with proposed methods.

  • This paper proposes a road segmentation algorithm using a watershed. The proposed algorithm is a segmentation algorithm using an automatic marked watershed that automatically creates a road marker and a background marker using information about vehicles and lanes on road and it can solve problems of a watershed-based segmentation such as overmany regions or handworks for markers. The road marker has property for pure road areas in which lanes are included but vehicles are excluded and the background marker has property for the areas left in which vehicles and background are included. Results of segmentation applied to real road images show that the proposed algorithm can automatically creates appropriate markers and it can properly segments the required road area that include the lane with a vehicle and its both side lanes in various environments, and it is equal to the conventional algorithm using markers created by handwork in performance.

  • Inorganic and organic geochemical characteristics of Devonian bitumen carbonates in Alberta were studied using two drilling cores, Saleski 03-34-88-20w4 and Saleski 08-01-88-20w4, taken from the Core Research Center of Canada. The results of elements analyses showed high Total Inorganic Carbon, low Total Nitrogen and Total Sulfur, and Rock-Eval pyrolysis showed double $CO_2$ peaks in the oxidation part. These mean that the Devonian bitumen carbonates are mainly composed of dolomite formed by diagenesis, and its crystal texture is dominantly subhedral to anhedral but often euhedral. Bitumen contents were 3.6~19.0% in Saleski 3-34-88-20w4 and 5.0~16.4% in Saleski 08-01-88-20w4, respectively. As samples color become dark, bitumen and Total Organic Carbon contents are generally increasing in two cores. The results of biomarker analyses showed that the contents of resins and asphaltenes were 5~28% higher than those of saturated hydrocarbon, interring that the bitumen has been heavily biodegradated. According to the results of carbon isotope analyses in each component of bitumen, asphaltenes had highest values and the others had constant values. However, their values were varied in the range of normal crude oil (-18~-30‰).

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the putter head movement during the putting strokes. Highly skilled 5 golfers(less than 3 handicaps) and 5 novice golfers(having no golf experience) participated in this study. A target distance was 3 m. Movements of the putter head were recorded at 60 Hz with two video cameras(1/500 shutter speed). The results showed that the angle of the clubface of expert golfers was almost 1 degree, but the novice golfers were more than 6 degrees. Expert golfers moved their hands faster than the head movement, therefore the clubface was not opened during impact. However, the novice golfers moved their hands slower than the head movement, therefore the clubface was opened during impact. The ratio of input and output angles of total movement was 1:3-4, however, the ratio of input and output angles of impact zone was 1:2. The angle of normal vector of expert golfers was less than the angle of normal vector of novice golfers.
