Construction Strategy of Road Imagery Database for the Highway Management System (도로관리통합시스템을 위한 도로영상 데이터베이스 구축 방안)

  • To understand road state more quickly and accurately, KICT(Korea Institute of Construction Technology) executing a project that acquire high resolution color CCD images of the whole national highway every 10m, and offer images to the HMS(Highway Management System). At this time, national highway images of the Kyeonggki-Do, Kangwon-Do and Chungcheong-Do province were linked to the HMS and being offered to user. In this paper, from acquisition using highway photologging vehicle to database construction, the whole image-related data processes are described such as match images with their positions one to one or rearrange data acquired by road line to by management office.

  • 정부는 자전거 이용활성화에 관한 법률」을 1995년에 제정하여 지자체별 자전거이용시설의 정비계획을 수립하도록 하였지만 실제적으로 수립되고 있는 많은 정비계획들이 아직 초기단계기고, 사전에 충분한 시간을 갖고 세밀한 분석과 연구 없이 수립되다보니 상위계획과의 연계성부족과 지역적 특성에 부합되는 계획안 부족, 도로설계기술의 부족 등 많은 부분에서 문제점들이 지적되고 있다. 따라서 보다 발전한 연구내용의 계획으로 실제적으로 자전거 활성화에 기인하기 위해서 도출되는 문제점들을 진단하고 수정 분석하여 보완하는 작업이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 1995년부터 1998년 상반기까지 내무부에서 검토된 자전거이용시설 정비계획 보고서 중 10개 도시에 대하여 각도시별 정비계획의 문제점을 현황조사부분과 분석부분 계획부분으로 분류하여 분석하고 이의 개선방향을 제시하였다.

  • 전국적으로 수년째 계속되고 있는 지방도 확포장 사업의 구간별 시공계획 관리에서 중점적으로 지적되고 있는 도로 및 교량 공사단계별 중점관리 사항과 공정관리 및 신기술도입 등에 관하여 실험적으로 그 적용기법을 연구하였다. 기존의 흐름도와의 관계를 통하여 새로운 대안을 제시하여 최적의 공사계획과 관리가 이루어지도록 하기 위한 기법을 제시하였다.

  • 도시에는 다양한 종류의 기반시설들이 있고 이들은 계획방법에 따라 건축적으로 활용될 수 있는 가능성도 충분히 가지고 있다. 기반시설의 건축적 활용은 가용지가 부족한 도시에서 유휴공간으로 방치될 수 있는 도시 내 잃어버린 공간을 재생시킨다는 의미도 가지며 공공시설의 통합디자인이라는 측면에서도 중요하다. 본 연구는 이 점에 주목하여 도시 내 기반시설 중 교통관련 시설인 교량, 도로, 교통섬 등을 활용하여 공공공간을 계획한 사례들을 중심으로 계획특성을 고찰하고 시사점을 도출하였다.

  • 일본은 2001년 확정한 $\ulcorner$e-Japan 중점계획$\lrcorner$에서 정한 220개의 시책 중 1차년도로 예정된 103개의 시책을 모두 이행하였다. 그리고 2002년 6월 추진성과를 재검토하여 새로이 $\ulcorner$e-Japan 중점계획 2002$\lrcorner$를 발표하였다. 여기서는 일본의 정보보안 추진전략의 전체상을 살펴보기 위한 방안으로 $\ulcorner$e-Japan 중점계획 2002$\lrcorner$중 '고도정보통신 네트워크의 안전성 및 신뢰성 확보방안'을 소개한다.

  • During road construction, minimizing haul and return distances as well as keeping a balance between cut and fill quantities are two of the key tasks for earthmoving operation planning. The result of the earthwork planning has a significant impact on the construction cost and duration. Although there have been research efforts regarding optimized earthwork planning using linear programming, the current practice of selecting earthwork planning methods typically depends on a field manager's intuitive and/or experimental knowledge. Furthermore, there is no system considering earthwork influential field factors including the transportation distance, the earthwork quantity, and the recycling ratio of earth volume. Therefore, this research focuses on the development of such a model for planning the optimized earthwork to increase the efficiency of a road construction. The proposed model is developed based upon the transportation problem method which is a part of Linear Programming. The application result of optimization model on a case study shows that the duration and cost for earthwork ha sbeen reduced approximately 19% and 11% respectively

Planting Design Strategies and Green Space Planning to Mitigate Respirable Particulate Matters - Case Studies in Beijing, China - (미세먼지 저감을 위한 식재기법 및 도시 녹지계획 방향 - 중국 베이징시 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of the research is to analyze the recent cases of green space planning and planting design in Beijing, one of the cities having the worst particulate matters (PM) pollution. This study comprehensively reviewed Chinese academic literature addressing green space planning to reduce PM pollution. In addition, we conducted field observations and interviews with public officials from Beijing Municipal Bureau of Landscape Design in charge of planning and management of green spaces in Beijing. After the extensive review of literature we derived tree planting principles to mitigate the impact of PM from urban road system, residential area, and industrial district. Using the principles we evaluated the three recent cases of planting design to mitigate PM: Beijing Fuxing Road, Fu Run Residential Area and Beijing Beiqi Multipurpose Vehicle Factory. We conclude that green space planning and trees planting are not effective in mitigating negative impact of PM pollution because of inadequate selection of trees and inconsiderate planting composition. We proposed to replace the tree species with the ones capable of reducing the spread of PM, and reorganize planting compositions that consider the directions and characteristics of urban wind flow. This study suggests desirable types of tree species and planting compositions for road, residential and industrial districts, and we expect that it provides helpful guidelines for making planting design and species selection to mitigate the impact of PM in urban landscape.

  • The most important factor in highway design is to match highway alignment with topography so that the driver can drive the vehicle safely and comfortably. Highway alignment design is completed with combination of horizontal alignment and vertical alignment that is harmony with topography at the last step. In highway alignment design, the use of continuous perspective can meet vehicle's physical requirements, which is useful to keep driver's psychological and physiological balance. The main purpose of this study is to develop a computer pro-gram which is applicable to highway alignment design through study of how to make and analyze perspective by means of computer.

A Study on Characteristics of On-Street Parking on Local Streets (국지도로의 노상주차 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to provide guidelines for the selection of on-street parking spot on local streets considering conditions of surrounding area and characteristics of traffic generation. This guideline provides the method which determine required roadway width for planning and design of local streets. It is necessary to identify factors for the location selection analysis. This research team selects 12 case study areas to investigate traffic environment on the sites for this analysis. Most of factors which influence on-street parking are found to have a qualitative data format except traffic volume and pedestrian movement data. Quantification theory II which is known to be suitable for qualitative analysis has been applied to identify the meaningful variables for dependent variable. In addition, discriminant analysis has performed to verify the correlation for each variable with hit ratio. Road width, traffic volume, street traders and their heavy packages, and illegally parked vehicle are found to be most significant factors for selection of on-street parking location. Therefore, it is necessary to consider traffic volume generated from massive residential complex and traffic volume for outside and above-mentioned factors for installation of on-street parking facility in the case of new road construction or road width widen.

A Study on the Standard of Cost Estimation in the Construction of Pavement and Maintenance (도로포장 및 유지공사 표준품셈 개정 방법에 대한 연구)

  • In cost estimation of construction, several methods including quantity-per-unit costing, job costing, unit cost estimation and lumpsum estimation are being utilized in Korea. Among them, a Quantity-per-unit Costing Method is used as a standard of cost estimation in public and private works. This paper presents the realistic job-costing method on all road construction tasks through statistical analyses with field survey data to solve the problems induced by the existing quantity-per-unit costing method. Furthermore, it was found that the newly developed job costing method is able to produce a simple costing procedure and a more actual construction cost estimation by a case study, which was performed to compare particular construction costs produced by two different methods, existing quantity-per-unit costing and newly developed job costing. These methods is compared by Case-study about sub-base. In the case of Job costing method, the estimate is shorter than the other case about 50% and can make up for the weak point about instrument in the current Standard of cost estimation. And it can be depict by Job Costing method about progress of work for using by a plan about construction management.
