In this paper, I first examine Reiss'(2005) arguments for the causal instrumental variable. Second, I argue that the conditions for causal transitivity I consider meet what the causal instrumental variables and the interveners of the manipulation theory of causation are intended to hold. Reiss shows that two conditions for instrumental variables are not sufficient for causal significance of independent variables for dependent variables. Reiss articulates and reformulates the conditions for instrumental variables in terms of the conditions on causality, while naming his instrumental variables as causal instrumental variables. Reiss argues that the causal instrumental variables are similar to the interveners of the manipulation, or intervention theory of causation. He further argues that the causal instrumental variables do a better job the interveners do. I argue that the conditions for causal transitivity I consider meet the goal the conditions for the causal instrumental variables and the conditions for the interveners both are intended to achieve.

This study analyses the effect of a minimum wage on employment by using the government's progressiveness as an instrumental variable. The Ordinary Least Squares regression (OLS) can result in upward biased employment effect due to the endogeneity among variables. Therefore, it is necessary to analyse the casuality that removed endogeneity between variables by using proper instrumental variables. The analysis using instrumental variable shows that the growth of the increasing rate of the minimum wage reduces employment. The negative effect of employment depending on the increase of minimum wage corresponds with the predictions of Neoclassical Economics.

This study examined the effects of indemnity private health insurance on the medical utilization among the Korean adults. The used data were the 2014 survey data of Korea Health Panel, and the number of subjects was 11,436. Authors employed instrumental variable regression model where the instrument variables for controlling for endogeneity of indemnity were the purchasing of private pension and number of family members. The results showed that the number of outpatient visits and the number of hospitalizations for indemnity private health insurance subscribers were higher than non-subscribers. The number of household members and the private pension variables were proved to be appropriate as instrumental variables. This paper recommends the Korean government to monitor and evaluate the effects of indemnity private health insurance on the medical utilization in order to improve the efficiency of health care finance.

We often need to include categorial variables as explanatory variables in regression models. The categorial variables in regression models can be quantified through dummy variables. In this study, we provide an education tool using Excel VBA for displaying regression lines along with test results for regression models with a continuous explanatory variable and one or two categorical explanatory variables. The regression lines with test results are provided step by step for the model(s) with interaction(s), the model(s) without interaction(s) but with dummy variables, and the model without dummy variable(s). With this tool, we can easily understand the meaning of dummy variables and interaction effect through graphics and further decide which model is more suited to the data on hand.

모든 질병에서 피로감은 환자가 경험하는 매우 흔한 증상으로서 임상간호현장에서 쉽게 간과 되어져왔다. 최근까지 건강관련 학문분야에서 피로감에 관한 수많은 연구가 진행되어져 왔지만. 임상간호현장에 도움이 될 만한 연구결과, 즉 임상 간호사의 간호사정과 간호중재에 지침이 되는 연구는 부족한 현실이다. 구체적인 연구 계획에 앞서, 연구의 이론적인 배경과 근거, 이론에서 추출된 개념, 변수와 연구 도구들간의 전체적인 일관성이 매우 중요하다. 추상적인 이론으로부터 개념과 변수를 거쳐 연구에 직접 사용될 구체적인 연구도구를 일관성 있게 선택하는 일련의 과정을 'Theoretical Substruction'이라 한다. 심부정맥환자가 지각하는 피로감에 관한 연구에 앞서, 본 글을 통해 심부정맥과 피로감의 이론적인 연관성과 이 연구를 위한 개념과 변수, 구체적인 연구도구를 선택하는 과정, Theoretical Substruction에 대해 토의될 것이며, 이에 따른 연구질문도 제의 될 것이다.

This study estimates the employment relationship of domestic and foreign workers by establishing 16 municipal and provincial panel data for the period 2010-2018. It attempts to analyze industry-specific (manufacturing and construction), scale-specific (5-29, 5-29, 5-299 and 5 above) and uses the foreign worker's national share (foreigner's concentration index) as an instrumental variable to control the endogeneity of foreign workers. Finally, it compares the results of panel GLS, which does not consider the endogeneity of foreign workers, with the results using instrumental variable method that considers it. As a result of the analysis, the complementary relationship between domestic and foreign workers was confirmed in the panel GLS analysis. However, although the employment relationship between domestic and foreign workers was not statistically significant in the instrumental variable method, the analysis of the combination of manufacturing and construction industry showed a statistically significant substitute relationship. This study is highly regarded for the first time in Korea that an instrumental variable method was created to identify and control the endogeneity of foreign workers in estimating employment relationships between domestic and foreign workers.

반응표면분석에서 다반응값의 최적화 문제는 다반응값 최적화 문제보다 복잡하다. 이런 다반응값 문제에서 반응변수들이나 설명변수 상호간의 곤계나 중요성 등을 평가하는 것은 중요하다. 이러한 평가를 위하여 biplot가 유용한 그림도구로 쓰일 수 있다.

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing file-up family stress in the caregivers of patients with dementia. Data was collected by questionnaires from 102 families with a member having a dementia, at neurology departments of hospitals, temporary shelter for dementia patient, and nursing homes for the elderly. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. In results, the score of file-up stress showed a significantly negative correlation with the score of level of family hardiness(r=-.200, p=.026), social support(r=-.361, p=.004), relative and friend support(r=-.416, p=.001), and F-COPES(r=-.345, p=.048). The multiple regression analysis revealed that the most powerful predictor of file-up family stress was family cost for patients with dementia. The results contribute to the understanding of Korean family caregivers' perceptions of caregiveing. Further researches should be conducted with the consideration of Korean traditional custom that family should take care of the elderly family members.

최근의 많은 연구에서 정보기술에 대한 서비스제공 및 서비스 질(qualiy)에 대한 평가와 측정도구의 개발이 활발하게 이르어져 왔다(Pitt et al 1998) 또한 서비스 주체가 인적 요인에서 무형의 매체로 전환되고 있으며, 이러한 원인은 정보기술의 응용성에서 찾을 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존의 서비스 관점을 정보기술의 응용분야의 한 핵심이 될 수 있는 정보통신분야의 이동 휴대통신을 중심으로 서비스 질을 평가하여 문제점과 대안을 탐색하고자 하였다. 정보통신분야는 기간산업으로서의 역할과 그 중요성이 더욱 증대되고 있으며, 개별 기업차원에서도 정보기술 인프라는 중요한 경쟁요인이 될 수 있다. 그러나 이 분야에 대한 연구가 미흡하고 단순한 지표를 통한 비교 등의 연구 방법론에 있어서도 미비하다고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 정보통신분야의 중요성을 인식하고 초기 단계의 이동 휴대통신 분야의 핵심역량을 규명하고 향후 서비스 전략의 성공요인을 찾아내고자 하였다. 이러한 연구를 수행하기 위해 서비스만족 변수를 대리 측정도구로 이용하여 정보통신 기술 부분, 정보제공 부분, 비용우위 및 차별화 부분을 통해 계층적으로 접근하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 크게 세부분으로 요약된다. 첫째, 정보통신기술 부분에 대해 혁신적이고 안정적일 때 서비스만족도는 우수한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 통신장비 및 부가장비의 우수성도 서비스부분에 미치는 영향력이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 정보제공과 서비스만족과의 관계에서는 필요정보에 대한 서비스 밀착도가 높으면 서비스만족도는 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 정보제공 분야의 서비스 개발력은 서비스만족도에 미치는 영향정도도 크게 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 차별화 및 비용우위와 서비스만족과의 관계도 매우 유의한 것으로 분석되었다. 특히, 비용 및 요금은 서비스만족도에 결정적 영향변수로 나타났으며, 광고 및 홍보부분도 만족도의 영향변수로 분석되었다. 이러한 연구결과는 향후 서비스전략에 응용될 수 있으며, 이동 휴대통신분야의 성공요인을 가시적으로 분석할 수 있다. 본 연구의 한계점은 첫째, 실제 서비스를 제공하는 서비스 주체의 객관적인 평가가 부족하였고 이러한 상횡에서 정보통신 기술 서비스 능력이 잘 반영되지 못했다는 점을 들 수 있다. 둘째, 이동 통신의 분야별 연구를 통해 비교 평가가 세부적으로 이루어지지 못했으며 연구방법상 샘플조사의 한계와 객관적인 응답자료를 확보하기가 어려웠던 점을 들 수 있다. 마지막으로 분석결과에서는 변수간의 유의성이 있는 것으로 볼 수 있지만 측정도구가 미약하며, 향후 지속적인 연구와 측정도구의 개발이 필요하다고 볼 수 있다.

CASE 도구의 활용과 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스 수준과의 관계를 규명하기 위하여 국내 57개 기업이 91개의 정보시스템 프로젝트를 대상으로 한 실증적 연구를 수행하였다. 기업의 일반적인 특징과 CASE 도구의 활용정도, 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스 수준에 관한 자료를 획득하기 위하여 설문조사를 실시하였고, 연구 초점은 CASE 도구의 활용에 있어서 중요한 요인을 찾는데 있다. CASE 도구의 도입 형태와 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스가, 개발 생산성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 4가지 가설을 검정하였다. 검정결과 두 독립변수가 모두 개발 생산성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 CASE 활용과 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스간의 교호작용이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 또한 CASE 도구의 활용과 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스 수준사이의 전략적 관계 격자를 제시하였다. 전략적 관계 격자는 CASE도구 도입 형태와 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스 수준이 정도에 따른 4가지 셀로 구성되어 있는데 개별 셀마다 각 기업의 정보시스템 환경을 고려한 효과적인 전략을 제시한다. 마지막으로 CASE도구의 활용을 위한 추후 연구방향이 제시된다.
