As content providers further offload content-centric services to the cloud, data retrieval over the cloud typically results in many redundant items because there is a prevalent near-duplication of content on the Internet. Simply fetching all data from the cloud severely degrades efficiency in terms of resource utilization and bandwidth, and data can be encrypted by multiple content providers under different keys to preserve privacy. Thus, locating near-duplicate data in a privacy-preserving way is highly dependent on the ability to deduplicate redundant search results and returns best matches without decrypting data. To this end, we propose an efficient near-duplicate detection scheme for encrypted data in the cloud. Our scheme has the following benefits. First, a single query is enough to locate near-duplicate data even if they are encrypted under different keys of multiple content providers. Second, storage, computation and communication costs are alleviated compared to existing schemes, while achieving the same level of search accuracy. Third, scalability is significantly improved as a result of a novel and efficient two-round detection to locate near-duplicate candidates over large quantities of data in the cloud. An experimental analysis with real-world data demonstrates the applicability of the proposed scheme to a practical cloud system. Last, the proposed scheme is an average of 70.6% faster than an existing scheme.

In this paper, we propose an effective method to convert and construct the MEDLINE, the world's largest biomedical bibliographic database, into linked data. To do this, we first derive the appropriate RDF schema by analyzing the MEDLINE record structure in detail, and convert each record into a valid RDF file in the derived schema. We apply the dual batch registration method to streamline the subject URI duplication checking procedure when merging all RDF files in the converted record unit and storing it in a single RDF triple storage. By applying this method, the number of RDF triple storage accesses for the subject URI duplication is reduced from 26,597,850 to 2,400, compared with the sequential configuration of linked data in units of RDF files. Therefore, it is expected that the result of this study will provide an important opportunity to eliminate the inefficiency in converting large volume bibliographic record sets into linked data, and to secure promptness and timeliness.

Most data centers attempt to consolidate servers using virtualization technology to efficiently utilize limited physical resources. Moreover, virtualized systems have commonly adopted contents-based page sharing mechanism for page deduplication among virtual machines (VMs). However, previous page sharing schemes are limited by the inability to effectively manage accumulated hints which mean sharable pages in stack. In this paper, we propose a priority-based hint management scheme to efficiently manage accumulated hints, which are sent from guest to host for improving page sharing opportunity in virtualized systems. Experimental results show that our scheme removes pages with low sharing potential, as compared with the previous schemes, by efficiently managing the accumulated pages.
Conventional content management systems are independently developed for a specific field in general. Therefore usage of contents for the CMS will be limited to the corresponding CMS field. These characteristics might reveal a defect that CMS could not support effectively in exchange and sharing of information between CMSs. On the other hand, metadata standardization shows big differences in method and representation for the fields of CMS because all metadata standardizations are variously performed according to applications of them. There are lots differences that make interoperability between CMSs impossible. In this paper, we propose a novel metadata schema based on METS(metadata encoding and transmission standard) so that metadata standardization can be fulfilled in reality and solved the problem of duplicated contents created from different CMSs. This framework of integrated metadata proposed here can offer an interoperability between contents created by different CMSs, and discard duplicated contents. As a result of the proposed technology, we obtain 0.5% duplication rate from traditional 10.3%. In addition the filtering ability of duplicated contents shows from 92% to 96%, which proves the effectiveness and stability of the proposed technology.

Nowadays, many WLAN access points (APs) are deployed in hotspot areas such as shopping malls and stations. As the number of WLAN APs deployed increases, how to manage densely deployed APs in an efficient manner becomes one of the most important issues in WLANs. In this environment, uncoordinated multicast services can lead to frequent collisions due to simultaneous transmissions among APs. In this paper, we propose a multicast scheduling algorithm that can exploit simultaneous transmissions in multiple sectors and avoid redundant transmissions in dense networks. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can reduce the multicast transmission latency compared to comparison scheduling schemes.
