  • Communication in wireless sensor networks comprising a plurality of sensor nodes located in an ad hoc environment is unidirectional in that data gathered by sensor nodes are transmitted to a sink node and not vice versa. In those networks, it is not possible for a server or a gateway to send commands to the sensor nodes to determine whether some previously received data are valid when the data indicate unusual conditions, which makes it difficult to make appropriate reactions to the unusual situations. This paper proposes and implements a TDMA-based sensor network communication protocol named BiWSLP(Bidirectional Wireless Sensor Line Protocol) supporting bidirectional communication capability. The BiWSLP is an extension of the WSLP, a unidirectional sensor network communication protocol based on the TDMA protocol. To test the feasibility of the proposed BiWSLP, we construct a virtual bridge management system capable of sending commands to sensor nodes as well as collecting data from the sensor nodes. Based on the test results of the virtual bridge management system, we show the applicability and advantages of the BiWSLP in terms of energy efficiency and bidirectional communication capability.

  • Many dissemination protocols on the mobility support in wireless sensor networks have been designed based on the assumption that the movement trace of sinks, such as soldiers and fire fighters, is random. However, the mobility of the sinks in many applications, for example, the movement trace of a soldier on operation in a battle field, can be determined in advance. In this paper, we propose a Predictable Mobility-based Data Dissemination protocol that enables data to directly route from source nodes to moving sinks by taking into consideration predictable movement behavior of the sinks. We also show the superiority of the predictable mobility-based data dissemination protocol through the performance comparison with the random mobility-based data dissemination protocols.

  • The article herein suggested a compound repository and a descriptive method to develop a compound knowledge process. A data target saved in a compound knowledge repository suggested in this article includes all compound knowledge meta data and digital resources, which can be divided into the three following factors according to the purpose: user roles, functional elements, and service ranges. The three factors are basic components to describe abstract models of repository. In this article, meta data of compound knowledge are defined by being classified into the two factors. A component stands for the property about a main agent, activity unit or resource that use and create knowledge, and a context presents the context in which knowledge object are included. An agent of the compound knowledge process performs classification, registration, and pattern information management of composite knowledge, and serves as data flow and processing between compound knowledge repository and user. The agent of the compound knowledge process consists of the following functions: warning to inform data search and extraction, data collection and output for data exchange in an distributed environment, storage and registration for data, request and transmission to call for physical material wanted after search of meta data. In this article, the construction of a compound knowledge repository for recommendation system to be developed can serve a role to enhance learning productivity through real-time visualization of timely knowledge by presenting well-put various contents to users in the field of industry to occur work and learning at the same time.

  • Recent popularity of the smartphone market, with the explosive growth of mobile location-based SNS(Social Network Service), is into the mainstream. SNS aims to cooperate and share information with all users, but mobile SNS is still not easy people with disabilities. In addition to using the Web, it has difficulty to provide an appropriate interface to access such as smartphone for people with disabilities. This paper will specify and analyze the context-awareness technology and SNS function, and study a variety of information that students with disabilities such as time, location and activity states including data collection and analysis of the situation by converting the status information. It has provide that students with disabilities to lead comfortable life in school according to the various types of disabilities, and school information and safety services using mobile location-based SNS.
