The papers written by university librarians in the publications of university library association and the presentations at the seminars and workshops organized by the university library association will reveal the real problems and interests of the university libraries. This paper intends to find out in that areas the university libraries have most interests and problems md how serious they are by analyzing the contents of the papers and presentations.

국립대학도서관협의회는 83년11월25일, 26일 공주사범대학도서관에서 제35차 총회를 개최하고 국립대학도서관 운영개선방안에 대하여 협의한 바, 다음과 같은 내용의 건의를 관계 당국에 제출키로 결의하였다. 이 건의 내용은 전체 대학도서관 운영개선을 위하여 필요한 자료이기 이를 소개하는 것이다.

대학 도서관에서 전체 장서구입비 중 국외 학술잡지 구입비가 1995년을 기점으로 단행본 구입비를 앞서기 시작했다. 이같은 시점에서 대학 도서관은 효율적인 상호대차를 구축.도모하지 않으면 안된다. 대학 도서관이 어떤 형태의 발전 경로를 밟든지 간에 효율적인 상호대차를 전제해 놓지 않으면 매년 증가되는 국외 학술잡지의 중복 구입은 피할 수 없고, 보다 많은 종수의 국외 학술잡지를 국내에서 확보하려는 의지는 좌절될 것이다. 효율적인 상호대차로 도서관 협력망을 형성한 후에 선진국처럼 주제중점 도서관을 정할 수 있을 것이다.
