Growth and Morphological Changes in Scenedesmus dimorphus Induced by Substances Released from Grazers, Daphnia magna and Moina macrocopa (동물플랑크톤 Daphnia magna와 Moina macrocopa에서 유도된 분비물질에 의한 Scenedesmus dimorphus의 형태변화)

  • Grazer-induced colony formation was examined using a green alga Scenedesmus dimorphus (T$\ddot{u}$rpin) K$\ddot{u}$tzing. Algae were cultured in a medium with or without filtered water taken from cultures of Daphnia magna Straus (300 ind./L) or Moina macrocopa Straus (500 ind./L). The exposure to zooplankton filtered water (ZFW)promoted colony formation in S. dimorphus, with the magnitude of this response being directly proportional to the relative volume of ZFW that was added to the culture medium. The number of cells/colony and mean particle biovolume of S. dimorphus increased between 24 and 72 hours after exposure to ZFW, most likely due to the influence of chemicals released from D. magna or M. macrocopa, and possily as a defense mechanism against zooplankton grazing.

천연 항균복합제재에 의한 농산물 식품원료의 선도유지효과

  • 현재까지 미생물의 증식을 억제하는 보존제로는 인공합성품이 많이 알려져 이들이 주로 상업적으로 사용되고 있으나 그 안정성이 경우에 따라 문제되고 있으며 근래소비자의 건강 지향적 욕구가 증대됨에 따라 인공합성품의 기피현상이 두드러지고 있다. 따라서 이들 천연 항균물질의 개발과 이용은 인공 합성보존제의 대처라는 의미와 소비자기피현상을 유발시키지 않으면서 각종 가공식품의 저장성향상 및 저온 유통식품의 안정성확보라는 견지에서 그 중요성이 있다. 본 실험에서는 식품의 미생물 작용에 의한 변질의 저해 효과가 뛰어난 식물성천연항균제품(Botanical antimicrobial agents-Citrus product : 이하 BAAC라 칭함)에 천연보조제(Ginseng extract, Aloe, 매실추출물)를 첨가하여 Paper disk 법에 의한 항균성 검사를 실시한 결과 Ginseng extract를 첨가한 경우 생육저해환이 가장 크고 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 따라서 BAAC에 보조제(Ginseng extract)를 첨가하여 제조 된 천연 항균복합제재(이하 BAAG라 칭함)를 우유에는 각 농도별로 첨가하여 4$^{\circ}C$의 냉장상태와 2$0^{\circ}C$의 상온에서 저장하였고, 계란과 콩나물의 경우는 침지 처리한 후 꺼내어 상온에서 저장하면서 각각 주사전자현미경 관찰, 대장균수, 총균수의 변화, 외관상의 변화에 미치는 영향을 무처리 대조구와 비교하면서 조사하였다. 아울러, 계란의 경우는 조단백함량의 변화도 관찰하였다. 주사전자현미경 촬영사진의 결과 분석을 통하여 BAAG를 처리한 균체 세포는 세포막 및 세포벽 기능이 파괴되어 세포내용물이 균체외부로 유출되어 균체의 생육이 억제되며 성장을 저해 또는 사멸시키는 것으로 나타났다. 대장균수는 우유, 달걀 및 콩나물의 모든 처리구에서 BAAG의 첨가에 의해 성장이 억제되었으며 농도가 증가시킬수록 균증식 억제 효과가 뚜렷하였으며, 총균수도 압도적으로 낮은 간을 보여주었다. 달걀의 조단백함량의 변화는 BAAG를 처리하지 않은 무처리 대조구에 비하여 침지 처리한 경우가 조단백 변화가 크지 않았다. 즉, BAAG의 침지 처리한 경우, 저장기간 14일이 경과 한 후에 10%정도의 수준으로 감소한데 반하여, 무처리구인 대조구의 경우, 23%수준으로 감소 증도가 증가하였다. 외관상의 변화와 상품 가치를 측정한 결과는 달걀의 경우, 14일이 경과후에는 무처리 대조구에서 흰자위의 감소와 노른자위와의 경계가 뚜렷하지 못하여 상품으로서의 가치가 크게 떨어진 상태였다. 우유의 경우에는 4$^{\circ}C$와 2$0^{\circ}C$에 저장된 대조구에서는 각각 3일과 12일경과 후 강한 부패취와 아울러, 표피의 갈변정도가 심하되어 관능적으로 부패상태를 인지할 수 있었다. 콩나물의 경우도 저장3일 경과 후에 부패취와 함께 점질성 갈변물질이 생성되었다. 이와 같은 결과로 볼 때, BAAG의 처리는 BAAC의 경우보다 가격은 저렴하면서도 항균력은 우수한 천연 항균복합제재로써 농산물 식품원료에 적용하여 선도유지 기간을 연장할 수 있는 효과를 기대할 수 있었다.

The Effect of Shade Net on Summer Stress of Cool-season Turfgrass (차광이 반지형 잔디의 여름철 하고현상 감소에 미치는 영향)

  • Summer stress is one of the serious problems on cool-season grass at the soccer fields in Korea during heavy rainy season. This study was conducted to intestigate the effect of shade net with regard to its percent (0, 50, 75), color (black, green), height (0 cm, 30 cm) and time (7 hr, 24 hr) on turf canopy temperature, light intensity, leaf color, turf performance, clipping yield and root dry weight of cool-season turfgrass. Turf canopy temperature was 6~13$^{\circ}C$ under black and green shade net when temperature was over 4$0^{\circ}C$. Light intensity was also decreased from 40 to 94% under black and green shade net compared to control. Black shade net was more effective than green net in reduction of temperature and light intensity. Green shade net was found to be better for photosynthesis of cool-season grass. Leaf color, turf performance, clipping yield, and root dry weight were better and increased under 50% and 75% shade net. 50% black shade net with 30cm height and 7 hr treatment showed the best turf performance. It can be concluded that 50% and 75% green shade net can be used fur reducing summer stress on cool-season grass after soccer marches during heavy rain season. The shade net decreased the turf canopy temperature and reduced heating damage of cool-season turfgrass.

Contrast Enhancement for X-ray Images Based on Combined Enhancement of Scaling and Wavelet Coefficients (웨이브렛과 기저 계수를 이용한 X-ray 영상의 대조도 향상기법)

  • An applied technique of contrast enhancement for X-ray image is proposed which is based on combined enhancement of scaling and wavelet coefficients in discrete wavelet transform space. Conventional contrast enhancement methods such as contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE), multi-scale image contrast amplification (MUSICA) and gamma correction were applied on scaling coefficients to enhance the contrast of an original. In order to enhance the detail as well as reduce the blurring caused by up scaling of contrast modified scale coefficients from lower resolution, the sigmoid manipulation function was used to manipulate wavelet coefficients. The contrast detail mammography (CDMAM) phantom was imaged and processed to measure the image line profile of results and contrast to noise ratio (CNR) comparatively. The proposed technique produced better results than direct application of various contrast enhancement methods on image itself. The proposed method can enhance contrast, and also suppress the amplification of noise components in a single process. It could be useful for various applications in medical, industrial and graphical images where contrast and detail are of importance.

Quality characteristics of tofu coagulated by apricot juice (살구즙을 응고제로 첨가한 두부의 품질특성)

  • This study investigated the utilization of apricot as a coagulants for tofu manufacture, and compared the quality characteristics and shelf-life of tofu made by A2(2% apricot juice), A4(4% apricot juice), A6(6% apricot juice), A8(8% apricot juice) in comparison with those of C(G.DL). A2 tofu(323.00 g) showed the highest yield of tofu and the tofu yield decreased with increasing apricot juice content. In color, the lightness of tofu was decreased with increasing apricot juice content, while redness and yellowness were increased. The hardness of tofu coagulated with apricot juice was higher than that of the coagulated C(G.DL) and the springiness of A6 and A8 was higher than that of C(G.DL) while that of the other tofus was lower than C(G.DL). The brittleness of tofu was increased with increasing apricot juice content. The pH value of tofu coagulated with apricot juice was increased during storage at $0^{\circ}C$ and the acidity was decreased. Two percent apricot juice tofu had good overall preference.

Characteristics of a New Sparassis latifolia Variety, "Hanyeoul", with Stable Pinheading (자실체 발생이 안정적인 꽃송이버섯 신품종 '한여울')

  • This study was conducted to reduce the phenomenon of biased cultivation and to pursue the diversification of mushroom items. We focused on developing Sparassis latifolia varieties with a short cultivation period, stable pinheading, and a high yield. We have collected and determined the characteristics of genetic resources domestically and abroad since 2016. We bred the unique domestic variety, "Hanyeoul" and the results of this study are as follows. The optimal temperatures for mycelial growth and fruit body growth were 22~25℃ and 19~21℃, respectively. The color of the pileus was pale-yellowish white, which was similar to the color of the control variety, "Neoul". The number of days required for cultivation was 125 for bottle cultivation and 98~102 for bag cultivation, which was shorter than the number of days required for the control variety. Bottle cultivation took 39 days shorter for the new variety than the control variety. The fruiting body of the new variety was similar in size or larger than that of the control variety. The pinheading rate was more than 90% in bottle cultivation and bag cultivation, which was more stable than pinheading in the control variety. The yield was 79.1 g/bottle (1,100 cc) for bottle cultivation, which was 22.6% higher than the yield of the control variety, and 641.1~689.5 g/bag (2.6 kg) for bag cultivation, which 5.8~10.4% higher than yield of the control variety.

Effects of Vacuum Precooling on Shelf Life of Pleurotus eryngii during PE Packaging Storage (큰느타리 버섯의 PE 포장 저장 중 선도에 미치는 예냉처리 효과)

  • The effects of vacuum precooling(VP) on the shelf-life of polyethylene film(PE) packaged King oyster mushrooms(Pleurotus eryngii) during storage at $-1^{\circ}C$ were investigated. VP was conducted below $0^{\circ}C$ in a $-1^{\circ}C$ cold chamber of 40 minutes, and mushrooms were stored for 30 days in batches of 1kg. The weight loss of the VP-treated mushroom was slightly lower than that of control. The $O_2$ concentrations of VP-treated mushroos, within 4 days of storage, were 2.44-14.50 %/kg-package/hr, thus higher than control values(2.01-8.19%/kg-package/hr). $CO_2$ generation of VP-treated mushrooms, again within 4 days of storage, was 0.47%/kg-package/hr, thus lower than that of controls(0.58%/kg-package/hr). The $CO_2/O_2$ ratio peaked on day 4 of storage in the control group, tbut no such peak was observed in VP-treated mushrooms. In the VP-treated fungi, lightness was higher, and redness and yellowness lower, than in controls, at all storage times.. In VP-treated mushrooms, strength, hardness and chewiness were significantly higher than in controls, but there were no significant differemces in springiness or cohesiveness. Softening and breakdown of under-cap wrinkles were observed in control mushrooms stored for 30 days, but occurred to a lesser extent in VP-treated fungi. Stipe reticulum tissue vessels in the 30 day-stored VP-treated mushrooms were relatively well-defined and clear, but were softer and diffuse in the control fungi. The results thus confirmed that VP after harvest enhanced mushroom shelf-life and PE packaging prolonged storage time. The data will have industrial applications.

Freshness Extension of Tomatoes by Packaging Methods (포장 방법에 따른 토마토의 품질변화)

  • This study was measured weight loss, total ascorbic acids, titratable acidity and soluble solids contents to investigate the effect of EPS(expended polystrene foam) box, double wall corrugated paperboard box and LDPE film pouches during storage at 25oC. The rate of weight loss was 5.9% in corrugated paperboard box after 7 days, but those of 20LD, 40LD film and EPS box were 1.1, 1.0, and 1.1% , respectively. Total ascorbic acid content of EPS box was 20% higher than that in corrugated paperboard box, but the obvious differents were not observed among the LDPE film pouches and EPS box. The titratable acidity was decrease during storage, but total soluble solids content was increase. Overall appearences of LDPE pouches and EPS box were better than those of corrugated paperboard box.

Enhanced latitude for digital projection radiography (디지털 투시촬영의 관용도 향상)

  • 대조도와 관용도사이의 손실 교환은 투사 방사선 촬영에 있어서 잘 알려져 있고 또한 오랫동안 지속되어온 영상의 질에 있어서의 제약이었다. 전자적인 영상획득의 도입으로 한 영상 내에 넓은 영역의 X-Tay 노출을 포획하는 것이 가능해 졌다. 그러나, 진단에 필요한 세부영역 들을 위해 적절한 대조도를 유지하는 반면, 일반적으로 기대되는 관용도 범위 이외의 정보가 시각화 되어지는 것과 같은 영상의 rendering과 displaying의 문제가 남아 있었다. 이 문서에 묘사되는 EVP(Enhanced Visualization Processing)는 이 문제를 중점적으로 다룬다. 방대한 진단용 CR 영상 데이터베이스로부터 선택된 14개의 검사유형 당 각각 5개의 영상들을 포함한, 총 70개의 영상들을 사용하여 임상 보고서가 제출되었다. 각 영상에 대해, control rendering은 현재 개발되어 있는 automatic tone scaling algorithm(자동 톤 스케일 알고리즘)에 의해 생성되었고, test rendering은 그 control of image에 EVP를 인가함에 의해 생성되었다. 10명의 radiologist들은 각자 개별적으로 140개의 이미지들(70개의 test renderings와 70개의 control renderings)을 9점의 진단 상의 품질 척도로 평가했다. EVP는 세부 대조도의 부당한 손실 없이 증가된 노출 관용도를 제공했다. 많은 영상에서 EVP는 과소 투과 영역에서의 정보의 손실을 줄여주고, 반면 과다 투과 영역의 밝게 빛나는 현상을 실제적으로 감소시켰다. 진단상의 품질 평가는 EVP image와 control image 모두 평균적으로 높았다. 그럼에도 EVP images의 평균 등위는 control image의 그것보다 1 단계 완전히 높은 범위에 있는 것으로 평가되었다. 쌍으로 그 영상들을 보면, EVP images의 76%가 일치하는 control images의 평가 단계보다 1 또는 그 이상 높은 범주인 것으로 평가되었고, 반면 control image의 6% 만이 일치하는 EVP 영상보다 우수한 것으로 평가되었다. 유사한 결과가 연구된 14개의 검사유형에 대해 획득되었다.

A RADIOAUTOGRAPHIC STUDY OF POSTNATAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE TONGUE FOLLOWING 5-FLUOROURACIL ADMINSTRATION IN MICE

  • 신생의 Balb/C strain 백서20두를 사용하였고, 실험군과 대조군으로 구분하여 실험군에는 5-fluorouracil의 체중 25 mg/kg씩 2회를 복강내주사하였다. 실험군가 대조군에 모두 희생 2시간전에 체중그람당 5μ Ci의 thymidine-H³ (Specific activity는 9.0 Ci/mM 이상)를 복강내 주사하였다. 각군은 5-fluorouracil 최종 주사후 1, 3, 7, 14, 21일 간격으로 희생시키고, 두부를 4% formalin에 고정하였다. 조직을 0.5M EDTA에 탈회하고 parlodion과 paraplast에 이중 매몰을 하여 Parasagittal serial section 을 10μ의 절편을 만든 후 자기방사용표본을 제작하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 5-fluorouracil이 백서설의 기저세포층의 핵산합성 및 단백합성에 미치는 영향은 실험초일인 제 1일부터 억제하기 시작하여 (80.9%) 제3일 76.9%이고, 제 7일이 가장 극심하고 (66.2%) 그후부터는 다소회복되기 시작하여 제14일이 92/3%이고, 제21일인 98.9%로서 서의 대조군수치에 접근하였다. 2. 5-fluorouracil은 설유두중 nallate papillae 성장에 가장 억제적 현상을 보였고, 그 다음이 fungiform papillae, filiform papillae의 순위였다. 3. 5-fluorouracil 이 백서설의 기저세포층의 핵산합성을 억제함을 알 수 있고, 아울러 백서설의 조기정상 발육에 영향을 줌울 알 수 있다.
