A study on mediating and moderating effect of supervisors' abusive supervision on strain-based work-family conflict and interpersonal deviance (상사의 비인격적 감독이 부하의 일-가정 갈등 및 대인 일탈행동에 미치는 영향에서의 매개 및 조절효과 연구)

  • The purpose of this present study was to investigate the influence of abusive supervision on strain-based work interference with family and interpersonal deviance. In addition, this study examined the mediating effect of subordinates' emotional labor toward supervisors and the moderating effect of hierarchical organizational climates on emotional labor, perceived organizational family support on strain-based work-family conflict, and social network on interpersonal deviance. The results are summarized as follows: (1) abusive supervision was positively related to subordinates' emotional labor toward supervisors. (2) Emotional labor was positively related to strain-based work-family conflict and interpersonal deviance. (3) Subordinates' emotional labor mediated the relationship between abusive supervision and the two outcome variables. (4) Hierarchical organizational climates moderated the relationship between abusive supervision and emotional labor. (5) Perceived organizational family did not have moderating effect between emotional labor and strain-based work-family conflict. (6) Social network had moderating effect but it did not influence interpersonal deviance as predicted by the hypothesis. Based on the results, implications of findings, limitations, and suggestions for future research were discussed.

'Black Consumer Behavior' and Organizational Misbehavior : The Moderating Effects of encourage ('블랙컨슈머 행동'과 종사원의 조직일탈행동 : 격려의 조절효과)

  • The objective of this study is to examine the effect of the serve employee which is thought as important but has not been studied almost on the response actions to the customer and organization. we tried provide the administrative implications for the black consumer management. This study built a exploratory empirical model that there is causal relationship of the service sector employee on the attitude to the customer and organization on the base of the exploratory consideration. To test hypotheses empirically, the questionnaire data were collected from 262 members of service sector in Busan and was analyzed by using Regression Analysis. Results of empirical analysis are as follow. 1) perceived black consumer behavior which service sector employee has the significant positive effect on the misbehavior to the customer. looking in detail, repetitiveness, insistence, deception, excessiveness are significant positive effect on the misbehavior to the customer. 2) perceived black consumer behavior which service sector employee has the significant positive effect on the misbehavior to the organization. looking in detail, excessiveness only have a positive effect on the misbehavior to the organization. 3) The significance of this study indicates that encourage plays a role as moderating variable influencing the relationship between perceived black consumer behavior and employee misbehavior. Specifically, The significance of this study indicates that encourage plays a role as moderating variable influencing the relationship between perceived excessiveness which the demension of the black consumer behavior and employee misbehavior. Lastly, this study suggested the implication of the result, the limitation and the direction of future study. The results of this study provide suggestion to the company.

The Relationship between Organizational Tenure, Structural Career Plateau, and Interpersonal Deviant Behavior: Focusing on Nurses (근속연수, 구조적 경력정체 및 대인 일탈행동간의 관계: 간호사를 대상으로)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between organizational tenure, structural career plateau, and interpersonal deviant behavior for nurses. Moreover, this study also investigated moderating role of proactivity on the effect of organizational tenure on structural career plateau. Design/methodology/approach - This study utilized 448 nurses working at three different types of hospital. The Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and the multiple regression analysis were conducted to verify the hypotheses. Findings - The results showed that organizational tenure is positively related to structural career plateau and structural career plateau is positively related to interpersonal deviant behavior. However, moderating effect of proactivity is not significant. Research implications or Originality - Nurses are critical to the competitiveness of hospital organizations considering the proportion of manpower and the role of nurses. One of the important factors that decrease the motivation of nurses is structural career plateau. This study analyzed the antecedent and consequence of structural career plateau. In addition, practical implications for resolving the problem of structural career plateau were provided.
