Comparative Study for the Validation of TPNSim++ and its Applicability to Military Simulation (TPNSim++의 검증 및 군사 시뮬레이션 분야의 활용성)

  • TPNSim++ is the object-oriented framework for the discrete event simulation of military systems, developed by authors. The simulation world view of TPNSim++ is on the basis of activity scanning. TPNSim++ is implemented as C++ class library under Windows 95/NT. It uses the extended timed Petri nets which are called TPNSim nets for simulation modeling tool. The aim of this study is to conduct a comparative study of TPNSim++ and SLAM II in the simulation of military maintenance systems for the validation and the applicability of TPNSim++. From this study, TPNSim++ and SLAMII have given the same results under the equivalent assumption. Thus we can get the validation of TPNSim++ and its applicability to the simulation of maintenance systems.

  • We have grown carbon nanotubes by thermal chemical vapor deposition of $C_{2}H_{2}$ on catalytic metal deposited on silicon oxide substrates. Highly purified carbon nanotubes are uniformly grown on a large area of the silicon oxide substrates. It is observed that surface modification of catalytic metals deposited on substrates by either etching with dipping in a HF solution and/or $NH_{3}$ pretreatment is a crucial step for the nanotube growth prior to the reaction of $C_{2}H_{2}$ gas. The diameters of carbon naotubes could be controlled by applying the different catalytic metals.

  • This paper proposes how to develop the EC(Electronic Commerce) for industrial-related items, which has not been tried yet in EC areas. Usually industrial design derives an idea and concept for a new product from the needs of end-users and manufacturers. Then this product is developed through the design process such as idea-sketch, rendering, and design modeling mock-up. The purpose of this paper is to vitalize the trade for some items which are necessary for the design process and are intermediate products. That is, the idea and concept from the needs and seeds can be dealt with as one item. Furthermore, the idea-sketch and rendering materializing from the idea can be an item also. By doing so, excellent design items which could be thrown away in the middle of the process can be made into valuable commodities. Then we can specify the role of Designer, Manufacturer, and End-User as a buyer or a seller.

  • 대한민국의 주요 하천인 한강, 금강, 낙동강, 영산강에서 2009년 11월부터 정부가 추진하는 4대강 살리기 사업(이후 4대강 사업)이 본격적으로 시작됐다. 정부는 기후변화 시대에 홍수와 가뭄에 대비하고 물 부족 시대에 수자원을 확보하며, 하천의 자연 생태계를 살리고 사람이 즐길 수 있는 레저 친수문화 공간을 조성하기 위해서라고 사업 목적을 내세운다. 환경시민단체와 상당수의 학자, 전문가들은 4대강 살리기 사업의 근간인 하도(강줄기)준설과 보 건설은 하천 수질 오염과 자연과 생태 환경 파괴로 끝날 뿐이라며 강하게 반대한다. 22조 2천억 원이라는 막대한 사업비가 들어가는 거대 사업의 시한을 정부는 이명박 대통령 임기 말년인 2012년으로 못 박고 있다. 2010년 지방선거와 2012년 차기 대통령 선거를 앞두고 전국 규모의 대형 토목 개발 사업을 이용한다는 의혹까지 제기되고 있다. 4대강 살리기 사업에 대한 비판과 결과에 대한 논란은 사업 기간은 물론 종료 이후에도 계속될 것으로 전망된다.

Variations of Concentration Levels of Volatile Organic Compounds in the Indoor Air due to Floor Waxing (왁스 청소에 기인한 실내 공기 중 휘발성 유기화합물의 농도변화)

  • Wax is a protectant for floors that is used widely in Korea and is considered an emission source of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the indoor environment. This study examined the concentration change of indoor VOCs due to waxing and also due to wiping the floor with an oiled dustcloth. VOCs were identified using a cryogenic concentration/thermal desorption system with capillary GC that utilized a liquid nitrogen cryostat and induction heating. The major components emitted from the waxing were nonane, decane, undecane, $C_2$-benzene, and $C_3$-benzene. The concentrations of nonane were 1,276 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥ an hour after wax applications, 832 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥ after 3 days, and less than 10$\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥) after 15 days. Another emission source of VOCs in indoor was the oiled dustcloth used for cleaning the floor. The oiled dustcloth gave VOCs concentrations three times higher than the normal undusted floor.

  • Cystic hypersecretory carcinoma of the breast is a rare variant of ductal carcinoma of breast, first described in 1984 by Rosen and Scott. Histologically, it is characterized by the formation of dilated ducts and cysts containing an eosinophilic secretory product resembling thyroid colloid. Cytologic findings show a few clusters of atypical ductal epithelial cells in amorphous proteinaceous material with clacking artifact. Differential diagnosis include mucinous carcinoma and benign mucocele-like tumor. We present two cases of fine needle aspiration cytology of cystic hypersecretory intraductal carcinoma of the breast with a review of the literature.

  • 항해사가 타선과의 충돌위험 인지 및 피항을 위한 Radar/ARPA 교육훈련은 오래전부터 STCW협약에 의하여 각 해양계열 및 수산계열 교육기관에서 실시되는 교과목명, 교육시간, 교육내용이 상이한 것으로 조사되었다. 하지만 각 교육기관에서 발행한 이 교육훈련과 관련한 증서는 동일한 효력을 가지고 있다. 이에 Radar/ARPA 교육훈련 내용의 세부사항이 표준화될 필요가 있으며, 최저 평가에 대한 표준도 필요할 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구는 Radar/ARPA 교육환경 개선 및 시나리오 개발, 실습노트, 평가 툴(Tool)에 대하여 개선하고자 하여 이들을 개발 제안하여 이 교육훈련의 효율적인 교육방안을 위한 기본적인 표준모델을 개발하고자 한다.

Optimization of Supported Pt Catalysts for Single Stage Water Gas Shift Reaction (일단 WGS반응용 백금 담지 촉매 최적화)

  • 본 연구에서는 일단 수성가스전이반응 (Single stage water gas shift reaction)을 위해 높은 활성을 가진 백금 담지 촉매를 함침법 (Incipient wetness impregnation method)으로 제조하여 높은 공간 속도 (Gas hourly space velocity) $45,515h^{-1}$에서 담체에 따른 촉매 활성을 평가하였다. 담체는 $CeO_2$, $ZrO_2$, MgO, MgO-$Al_2O_3$ (MgO = 30 wt%) 그리고 $Al_2O_3$를 사용하였으며 백금의 담지량은 1 wt%로 고정하였다. BET, XRD, TPR, CO-chemisorption 분석을 통하여 담체의 구조적 특성이 촉매 활성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다.
