Daedeok Valley, located in the Daejon Metropolitan City, Korea, has around 1,000 start-ups. There is no comprehensive study for the valley except Seol et al.(2002), because the valley is a new one. There was no such valley four years ago, in 1998. This paper defines the spatial boundary, origins and characteristics of the valley. The core area of the valley is Daedeok Science Town. This valley is an outcome of so called the Venture Policy of DJ government and business restructuring after foreign exchange crisis of November, 1997.

The main aim of this paper is to provide a plan for building an effective and competitive innovation system of Daeduck Valley in Korea through analysing the process of knowledge production and commercialisation of venture firms in the perspective of industry-(university) research networks. Since 1997, with the willingness of the government aimed at building' second Sillicon Valley', an ostensible innovation system cantered around the existing science technology town has been able to be built in Daeduck Valley. Nonetheless, some fundamental problems with the knowledge production and commercialisation of venture firms were appeared as the results of this study. It is led tv not only the lack of network agents and institutes that are able to facilitate and coordinate the networks of economic actors comprised of the innovation system, but also the impertinent roles of economic actors. In particular, these problems were differentiated in accordance with the growth stage of venture firms and the processes of knowledge production. Therefore, several policy implications for building innovation system are suggested in the perspective of the complement of existing innovation system of Daeduck, rather than constructing a new innovation system. At the same time, they are provided in accordance with different growth stages and knowledge production processes.

Daejeon metropolitan city is now financing an undertaking for building the film production town in daeduk valley as one of strategic industries, at this point of time it was under consideration making Daedeok Valley Directory to understanding the present position as the source technology and future practical application for the making film contents. This study deals with information design for the Daeduk Valley directory for the practical use. In detail, with emphasis on the design planning and formation of Daeduk Valley directory, researching methods of present position about the source technology and formation of information architecture of the directory book.

This study deals with information design for the Daeduk Valley directory of source technology as a film contents producing technique, with emphasis on the design planning and formation of Daeduk Valley directory about various source technologies for film making from a filmmaker's point of view.

This paper investigates social networks of high technology firms, located in a newly developed industrial area, called 'Daedeok Technovalley' in Daejeon, Korea. While the Vally was developed as an extension of Daedeok Science Park in Daejeon, it host 400 or so technology-intensive firms. A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect data on the firms of the Vally, during January 2010, and obtained 201 completed questionnaires. Additional data, such as sales amount and employment, were collected to measure the changes of firm size. This research analysed these data to argue that the enterprises have established some networks with local institutions; however, the networks do not significantly affect on the growth of the firms.
