Prevention of Early Frost Damage of the Concrete under Severely Low Temperature according to Heat Curingmethods (극저온 조건에서 보온양생 방법 변화에 따른 콘크리트의 초기동해 방지)

  • Concrete exposed to severely low temperature below $-20^{\circ}C$ should be provided with proper heat supplying curing to protect the concrete from early frost damage at the time of pouring.meanwhile, so far, effective heat curingmethods of the concrete under severely low temperature are not well established in Korea. For this reason, the objective of this paper is to provide effective heat curingmethod of concrete exposed to severely low temperature to protect early frost damage by varying the combination of heat curingmaterial combinations. Temperature history,maturity development and core strength results are investigated. Fourmock-up specimens simulating slab, wall and column were prepared and heat insulation, heat supplying and both were applied. Test results indicate that the combination of quadruple layer bubble sheet(4BS) and embedding of heating cable has desirable performance for a slab, and heat supplying curing inside heat enclosure and heat generationmat also shows desirable performance for a wall, and for a column, use of EPS heat insulation has proper performance against early frost damage, which reaches $45^{\circ}D{\cdot}D$ and helps the concretemaintain above $0^{\circ}C$ within 3 days. Themethodsmentioned above are believed to be optimum protection from early frost damage of the concrete under $-20^{\circ}C$.

Convergent Investigation with Internal Flow Analysis According to the Opening and Closing of Vehicle Window (차량 창문 개폐에 따른 내부에서의 유동 해석으로의 융합적 고찰)

  • In this study, the pleasant driving environment of the driver and passenger in the summer was investigated through the internal flow analysis of air due to the opening and closing of the car windows. The conditions on the entrance of the air conditioner with the opening and closing status of vehicle window were applied to the flow analysis by taking into consideration the actual driving environment. The automotive air conditioning outlet, the seat and the inside of car were modeled. As the air flow inside the car was analyzed, the air flow configuration and the temperature distribution were examined. In this analysis, the results were taken in consideration of only the effects of internal air and the opening and closing of window, assuming the interior of the vehicle as insulation. The analysis of each condition shows that these models maintain a pleasant environment. It is seen that this analysis result on the internal flow analysis according to the opening and closing of vehicle window can be applied by converging with the field of design.

Effects of Ondol Sleep Environment on the Thermo-physiological Response of the Human Body (온돌 수면환경이 인체의 온열생리반응에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate actual sleeping environments in Ondol rooms depending on the season. The experiment was performed on five healthy women. The bedroom environments using Ondol were measured in five cases (three apartments and two houses). The environments in bedroom, bedding temperature, skin temperature and thermal sensation were measured continuously through the seven days for each season in real life. This data of sleeping environments were analyzed in the view of seasonal variations and housing types. Annual average bedroom temperatures: $26.2{\sim}31.0^{\circ}C$ in apartments, $15.7{\sim}33.6^{\circ}C$ in houses. Annual average bedroom humidity: 48.3~82.1% RH in apartments, 64.9~87.0% RH in houses. During sleeping, temperatures of contact surfaces like sheets and under quilts ranged between $30.5^{\circ}C$ and $34.1^{\circ}C$ regardless of season or housing type. Annual average rectal temperature was $36.8^{\circ}C$ with no significant difference in season or housing type. In the point of thermal sensation, neutral temperature of the bedroom was $25.9^{\circ}C$ in apartments and $20.3^{\circ}C$ in houses. It was concluded that in spite of thermal environmental variations according to the seasons, skin, bedding and bedroom temperatures in apartments were better and more stable than those of houses. It is regarded that while houses are brick structured, apartments are steel-frame structured. Due to better insulation and air tightness, apartments were affected less from outdoor temperature and maintained higher room temperature than houses.
