Simplified Bending Moment Analysis in Slab Bridges supported by Column Type Piers (기둥으로 지지된 슬래브교(橋)의 모멘트 산정(算定)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • It would be much effective that single column type pier is used in concrete slab bridges rather than ${\Pi}$ or gravity type pire is used. To determine the longitudinal benging moment in concrete slab bridges supported by single column type piers, the concept of effective width is applied. By elastic plate theory cooperated with finite element method, the distribution of the longitudinal moment of the slab supported by single column type piers is studied. The main variables are span, width. thickness of the slab, and column section size. The analytical results obtained are summarized and analysed to evaluate the maximum longitudinal negative moment, then a simplified method for calculating the longitudinal moment is proposed.

Preparation and Characteristics of Polyethersulfone Microfiltration Membranes (폴리에테르술폰 정밀여과막의 제조 및 특성 연구)

  • This is the research about a new method to make the internal separation layer with smallest pore size in polyethersulfone (PES) membrane by adding p-toluenesulfonic acid (TSA) and polyvinylpyrolidone (PVP) to polymeric PES solution. The preparation and morphological characterization of PES sheet membranes containing PVP as a hydrophilic swelling material and TSA as a demixing material were performed. As a result by microflow porometery, the PVP and TSA added PES membranes showed good permeabilities and narrow pore size distributions, comparable to those of the commercial membranes. The concentration of PVP affected the PES characteristics on air permeability and surface structure. The concentration of TSA influenced on pore size distribution but do not affect air permeability. The surface images of FE-SEM shows similar pore size when TSA added or not. However, the cross-section images of FE-SEM show that the TSA added PES membranes have a increase of internal layer thickness with smallest pore size.

  • An enormous amount of efforts has been devoted to the development of finite elements for the bending problem of thick plates, especially based on Mindlin plate theory. Here, an approximate Constant Shear Angle Theory is usually used to take a transverse shear deformation of thick plate into consideration, which cannot be effectively considered the influence of transversal warping of cross-section with an increase of thickness. It might be the best way to represent the exact cross-sectional warping of the plate. The overall objective of this study is to develop a new formulation of plate including shear deformation and transversal warping, to perform extensive parametric studies comparing its results with those from Mindlin plate formulation, and to gain further insight into the influence of shear deformation and transversal warping of thick plate.

Sedimentary profile of Youngjong-North tidal flat (영종북 갯벌의 퇴적 단면 구조)

  • Many boring investigations were achieved in Youngjong-North tidal flat to construct the Incheon International Airport Expressway. Vertical sedimentary profile of this tidal flat has been studied by analyzing these boring data. The deposits of Youngjong-North tidal flat are about 30 meters thick, and the sedimentary layers consist of basal gravel, lower mud, middle silt, middle mud, and upper silt layers in ascending order. Semi-consolidated and oxidized belt with yellowish brown color, which appears above or within middle mud layer, exists in $-3{\sim}-5$ meters altitude. There are some stratigraphical problems to admit the top surface of this oxidized belt as the unconformity surface between Holocene and Pre-Holocene tidal flat deposit.

  • The importance of bumper system lies not only in the styling of vehicles, but also in the protection of vehicles and pedestrians from reasonable impact. In this study, we proceed to search a method for efficient bumper system without using the impact test and the computer simulation to analyze the bumper system. In the process of the research, we proposed the each method that is used to search the shape that satisfy each regulations in first, because bumper's dimensions to satisfy 'vehicle protection' regulations and form's dimensions to satisfy ‘pedestrian protection' regulations are difficult to exist together. After that we proposed the calculate method and design algorithm that is used to search a reasonable point satisfying the two regulations together.

  • 반도체 소자의 고집적화 및 고속화가 요구됨에 따라 MOSFET 구조의 게이트 절연막으로 사용되고 있는 SiO₂ 박막의 두께를 감소시키려는 노력이 이루어지고 있다. 0.1㎛ 이하의 소자를 위해서는 15Å 이하의 두께를 갖는 SiO₂가 요구된다. 하지만 두께감소는 절연체의 두께와 지수적인 관계가 있는 누설전류를 증가시킨다[1-3]. 따라서 같은 게이트 개패시턴스를 유지하면서 누설전류를 감소시키기 위해서는 높은 유전상수를 갖는 두꺼운 박막이 요구되는 것이다. 그러므로 약 25정도의 높은 유전상수를 갖고 5.2~7.8 eV 정도의 비교적 높은 bandgap을 갖으며, 실리콘과 열역학적으로 안정한 물질로 알려진 HfO2[4-5]가 최근 큰 관심을 끌고 있다. 본 연구에서는 HfO₂ 박막을 실제 소자에 적용하기 위하여 전극 및 열처리에 따른 HfO₂ 박막의 미세구조 및 전기적 특성에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위해, HfO₂ 박막을 reactive DC magnetron sputtering 방법으로 증착하고, XRD, TEM, XPS를 사용하여 ZrO₂ 박막의 미세구조를 관찰하였으며, MOS 캐패시터 구조의 C-V 및 I-V 특성을 측정하여 HfO₂ 박막의 전기적 특성을 관찰하였다. HfO₂ 타겟을 스퍼터링하면 Ar 스퍼터링에 의해 에너지를 가진 산소가 기판에 스퍼터링되어 Si 기판과 반응하기 때문에 HfO₂ 박막 형성과 더불어 Si 기판이 산화된다[6]. 그래서 HfO₂같은 금속 산화물 타겟 대신에 순수 금속인 Hf 타겟을 사용하고 반응성 기체로 O₂를 유입시켜 타겟이나 시편위에서 high-k 산화물을 만들면 SiO/sub X/ 계면층을 제어할 수 있다. 이때 저유전율을 갖는 계면층은 증착과 열처리 과정에서 형성되고 특히 500℃ 이상에서 high-k/Si를 열처리하면 계면 SiO₂층은 증가하는 데, 이것은 산소가 HfO₂의 high-k 박막층을 뚫고 확산하여 Si 기판을 급속히 산화시키기 때문이다. 본 방법은 증착에 앞서 Si 표면을 희석된 HF를 이용해 자연 산화막과 오염원을 제거한 후 Hf 금속층과 HfO₂ 박막을 직류 스퍼터링으로 증착하였다. 우선 Hf 긍속층이 Ar 가스 만의 분위기에서 증착되고 난 후 공기중에 노출되지 않고 연속으로 Ar/O₂ 가스 혼합 분위기에서 반응 스퍼터링 방법으로 HfO₂를 형성하였다. 일반적으로 Si 기판의 표면 위에 자연적으로 생기는 비정질 자연 산화막의 두께는 10~15Å이다. 그러나 Hf을 증착한 후 단면 TEM으로 HfO₂/Si 계면을 관찰하면 자연 산화막이 Hf 환원으로 제거되기 때문에 비정질 SiO₂ 층은 관찰되지 않았다. 본 실험에서는 HfO2의 두께를 고정하고 Hf층의 두께를 변수로 한 게이트 stack의 물리적 특성을 살펴보았다. 선증착되는 Hf 금속층을 0, 10, 25Å의 두께 (TEM 기준으로 한 실제 물리적 두께) 로 증착시키고 미세구조를 관찰하였다. Fig. 1(a)에서 볼 수 있듯이 Hf 금속층의 두께가 0Å일때 13Å의 HfO₂를 반응성 스퍼터링 방법으로 증착하면 HfO₂와 Si 기판 사이에는 25Å의 계면층이 생기며, 이것은 Ar/O₂의 혼합 분위기에서의 스퍼터링으로 인한 Si-rich 산화막 또는 SiO₂ 박막일 것이다. Hf 금속층의 두께를 증가시키면 계면층의 성장은 억제되는데 25Å의 Hf 금속을 증착시키면 HfO₂ 계면층은 10Å미만으로 관찰된다. 그러므로 Hf 금속층이 충분히 얇으면 플라즈마내 산소 라디칼, 이온, 그리고 분자가 HfO₂ 층을 뚫고 Si 기판으로 확산되어 SiO₂의 계면층을 성장시키고 Hf 금속층이 두꺼우면 SiO/sub X/ 계면층을 환원시키면서 Si 기판으로의 산소의 확산은 막기 때문에 계면층의 성장은 억제된다. 따라서 HfO₂/Hf(Variable)/Si 계에서 HfO₂ 박막이 Si 기판위에 직접 증착되면, 순수 HfO₂ 박막의 두께보다 높은 CET값을 보이고 Hf 금속층의 두께를 증가시키면 CET는 급격하게 감소한다. 그러므로 HfO₂/Hf 박막의 유효 유전율은 단순 반응성 스퍼터링에 의해 형성된 HfO₂ 박막의 유전율보다 크다. Fig. 2에서 볼 수 있듯이 Hf 금속층이 너무 얇으면 계면층의 두께가 두꺼워 지고 Hf 금속층이 두꺼우면 HfO₂층의 물리적 두께가 두꺼워지므로 CET나 EOT 곡선은 U자 형태를 그린다. Fig. 3에서 Hf 10초 (THf=25Å) 에서 정전 용량이 최대가 되고 CET가 20Å 이상일 때는 high-k 두께를 제어해야 하지만 20Å 미만의 두께를 유지하려면 계면층의 두께를 제어해야 한다.

The Study of the Characteristic of Ti Thin Film Using Small Magnetron Sputtering Method for Sunglass Lens (소형 Magnetron sputtering 방법에 의한 썬글라스 렌즈용 Ti 박막의 특성연구)

  • Purpose: Ti thin films were deposited on slide glass and CR-39 lenses using small magnetron sputtering apparatus to of Ti thin films. Methods: The thickness of Ti thin films were measured by cross section SEM, the transmittance and reflectance of them were obtained using spectrophotometer, the refractive index and extinction of them were obtained from VASE data. Results: The transmittances of Ti thin films with 60 nm, 120 nm, 140 nm thickness were a little change within the visual region from 400 nm to 750 nm, but were increased a little amount at near 400 nm. The transmittance of 60 nm, 120 nm, 140 nm Ti thickness in d-line was 30%, 25%, 20%, respectively. Also, it was shown that the refractive indices and extinction coefficients of the Ti thin films obtained from VASE were similar to those of Ti thin film offered macleod program. Conclusions: Ti films on CR-39 with these transmittances were available for sunglass lens. It was indicated that the refractive indices and extinction coefficients of the Ti thin films were decreased with the thickness of Ti thin film, for the thickness of Ti thin films was due to very thin.

Accuracy Examination in the RCS Computation of a Leaf Using the Resistive Sheet Technique with Various Thicknesses and Moisture Contents (잎 두께와 수분함유량에 따른 손실판 방식 RCS 계산의 정확성 검증)

  • The accuracy of the resistive-sheet technique in calculating the RCS(Radar Cross Section) of a deciduous leaf is examined in this paper for various thicknesses and dielectric constants, and a range of thicknesses for the resistive sheet technique is proposed. At first, a leaf was assumed to be a lossy dielectric disk, and the dielectric disk was again assumed to be a resistive sheet with an appropriate resistivity for a given thickness, a dielectric constant, and a frequency. Then, the RCS of the leaf was computed using the physical optics(PO) method, and was compared with the calculation results of a numerical analysis: i.e., a commercial tool based on the FEM (Finite Element Method) technique. It was shown that the error increases as the thickness increases. The error was 0.1 dB, for example, when the thickness is 1.2 mm and 3.7 dB when the thickness is 3 mm with a dielectric constant of(21.4, 9.7) at 9.6 GHz. It was also found that the error decreases as the dielectric constant increases. This study will be very useful for calculating the scattering characteristics of numerous leaves in a vegetation canopy for estimating its radar backscatter using scattering model.

Evaluation of Minimum Depth Criterion and Reinforcement Effect of the Soil Cover in a Long-span Soil-steel Bridge (장지간 지중강판구조물의 최소토피고 평가 및 토피지반 보강에 대한 수치해석)

  • Soil-steel bridges are made of flexible corrugated steel plates buried in the well-compacted granular soil. One kind of possible collapses of these structures could be initiated by shear or tension failure in the soil cover subjected to vehicle loads. Current design codes provide the requirements for the minimum depth of the soil cover to avoid problems associated with soil cover failures. However, these requirements were developed for short span (less than 7.7 m) structures which are made of unstiffened plates of standard corrugation (150$\times$50 m). Numerical analyses were carried out to investigate the behavior of long span soil steel bridges according to thickness of the soil cover. The span of structures were up to 20 m and deep corrugated plates (381$\times$140 m) were used. The analysis showed that the minimum cover depth of 1.5 m could be sufficient to prevent the soil cover failure in the structures with a span exceeding 10 m. Additional analyses were performed to verify the reinforcement effect of the concrete relieving slab which can be a special feature to reduce the live-load effects. Analyses revealed that the bending moment of the conduit wall with a relieving slab was less than 20% of that without a relieving slab in a case of shallow soil cover conditions.

  • The lifting and lowering supports method makes up for the weak points in the classical method and provides makes construction economical effect to construction. The application of pre-compression to continuous steel box girder bridges makes it possible to reduce the amount of steel, the height of girders and consequently, the cost consequentlyof the bridges' construction by through the process of concrete filling- up and the lifting-lowering of the inner supports. The lifting and lowering supports method is apt to cause local buckling in the lower flange and web plates by due to the process of the lifting of the inner supports. Therefore iln this study, therefore, the possibility of local buckling could be decreased, in consideration of the lifting force and the buckling strength of stiffened plates, by increasing the number of longitudinal stiffeners and the installation of extended longitudinal stiffeners on the lower flange and the web plates in the range of positive moment.
