Ransomware attack analysis and countermeasures of defensive aspects (랜섬웨어 공격분석 및 방어적 측면의 대응방안)

  • Ransomeware is a kind of malware. Computers infected with Ransomware have limited system access. It is a malicious program that must provide a money to the malicious code maker in order to release it. On May 12, 2017, with the largest Ransomware attack ever, concerns about the Internet security environment are growing. The types of Ransomware and countermeasures to prevent cyber terrorism are discussed. Ransomware, which has a strong infectious nature and has been constantly attacked in recent years, is typically in the form of Locky, Petya, Cerber, Samam, and Jigsaw. As of now, Ransomware defense is not 100% free. However, it can counter to Ransomware through automatic updates, installation of vaccines, and periodic backups. There is a need to find a multi-layered approach to minimize the risk of reaching the network and the system. Learn how to prevent Ransomware from corporate and individual users.

Derivation of Functional Architecture of Cooperative Engagement for a Theater Ballistic Missile Defense (TBMD를 위한 협동교전 기능아키텍처 도출)

  • This work describes a derivation of functional architecture of Cooperative Engagement (CE) for a Theater Ballistic Missile Defense (TBMD). The TBMD is composed of multi-layered defense systems as system of systems which includes network-based sensors, shooters and battle management. The Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) is a typical real-time battle management system, and the key function of the CEC is CE. The CE is a warfighting concept designed to defeat threats through the synergistic integration of distributed resources among two or more units. In this point of view, this paper proposed functional architecture through analyzing the CE concept, and was conducted as a pre-study to develop a CE based combat system of TBMD.

A study on Forecasting The Operational Continuous Ability in Battalion Defensive Operations using Artificial Neural Network (인공신경망을 이용한 대대전투간 작전지속능력 예측)

  • The objective of this study is to forecast the operational continuous ability using Artificial Neural Networks in battalion defensive operation for the commander decision making support. The forecasting of the combat result is one of the most complex issue in military science. However, it is difficult to formulate a mathematical model to evaluate the combat power of a battalion in defensive operation since there are so many parameters and high temporal and spatial variability among variables. So in this study, we used company combat power level data in Battalion Command in Battle Training as input data and used Feed-Forward Multilayer Perceptrons(MLP) and General Regression Neural Network (GRNN) to evaluate operational continuous ability. The results show 82.62%, 85.48% of forecasting ability in spite of non-linear interactions among variables. We think that GRNN is a suitable technique for real-time commander's decision making and evaluation of the commitment priority of troops in reserve.

  • Ein Schlagwort "die Vierte Industrielle Revolution" ist mehrdeutig und sehr unterschiedlich verstanden. Die Fragestellung, was die wesentlichen und allgemein anerkannten Elemente der "vierten industriellen Revolution", bezieht sich bisher auf neue Technologie oder Produkten wie $K{\ddot{u}}nstliche$ Intelligenz(K.I), autonomes Fahren, Internet der Dinge(IdD), 3D-Drucker usw. Unter einem historischen Gesichtspunkt bzw. der Geschichte der Industiriellen Revolution gibt es jedoch eine $Parallelit{\ddot{a}}t$ der rechtlichen Fragen, bsw. die Gefahrenabwehr, technische Kodifikation, Selbstregulierung, Internationalisierung des Technikrechts. Der Versuch, die Vierte Industrielle Revolution nur mit den neuen Technologie oder Produkten zu verstehen, kann nicht die Differenzierung zwischen jeden Stufen der industriellen Revolution konsequent $erkl{\ddot{a}}ren$. Dass die rechtliche Fragen der Vierten Industriellen Revolution angemessen behandelt, verlangt $zun{\ddot{a}}chst$ einen $Schl{\ddot{u}}sselbegriff$. Die vorliegende Arbeit setzt Digitalisierung als $Schl{\ddot{u}}sselbegriff$ voraus. Mit diesem $Schl{\ddot{u}}sselbegriff$ beleuchtet hier die Herausforderung des Verwaltungsrechts in der Zeitwende, wie die $Anpassungsf{\ddot{a}}higkeit$ und $Steuerungsf{\ddot{a}}higkeit$ des Rechts.

  • After the terrorist attack of 9/11 on the USA, the security concern to global trade has been raised. In particular, the USA has actively promoted a series of initiatives and rules such as CSI, 24 hour rule, C-TPAT, and so on in the area of logistics activities, which aimed to better protect the country against the potential terrorist threats. While implementing such schemes called as a multi-layed logistics security strategy, a large number of countries trading with USA are facing with the issues of additional time and costs for inspecting cargos in their logistics facilities. As a result, most countries all over the world have sought a way to minimize the impacts from such strategy. The Korea also is preparing the several security programs operated by various ministries, which are aiming to not only improve the efficiency of trade flows but also to ensure supply chain security. However, many companies are expressing the inefficiency of operating such programs. Thus, this paper analyzed several global supply chain security programs currently adopted by international organizations(ISO, WCO, and IMO) and major countries(USA, EU, and Singapore) and suggested a guideline for developing the national logistics security system.

A Study of the Safety & Effect of Products Containing Ceramide, Glucan for Atopic Dermatitis (아토피 피부염 환자에 적용한 글루칸과 세라마이드 제제의 유효성 및 안전성에 대한 연구)

  • Atopic dermatitis, also called congenital fever, is a allergic eczema of chronic itching disease. It is a recurrent and familial disease and appears on a wide age group from infant to adult. It is very common, and the ratio of occurrence is about $9{\~}l2\%$ of a child. However. it is showing trend of continuous increase by social and natural environment, food culture, and life style, recently. The human skin plays a barrier role against a physical and chemical stimulus from external environment. According to the latest study, the decreased amount of ceramide in horny layer impairs the bier function and moisture-maintaining function of skin in atopic dematitis patient. Ceramide is a kind of the sphingolipid in which a fatty acid is connected to sphingosin. Ceramide constitutes about $40\%$ of total lipid between keratinocytes and has the function of defense wall and building regular structure to suppress moisture vaporization in horny layer. In horny layer of skin a comified cell is composed of multi-layer structure of a brick shape, and, as for this cornified cell, it is strongly connected by ceramide, cholesterol, and free fatty acid. Here, we described the effects of a cream containing ceramide on the recovery of skin harrier function of atopic dermatitis patient. The safety and efficacy of latex and liquid formula were evaluated as cosmetics for atopic dermatitis. The latex products was composed of intercellular lipid components-ceramide, cholesterol, and free fatty acid-to restore skin barrier function in atopic dermatitis patients. The liquid one contained beta-glucan, magnolia extracts, and licolice extracts, which have skin immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects. It is also confirmed that their possibility on new cosmetic market of atopic dermatitis.

The development of conductive 10B thin film for neutron monitoring (중성자 모니터링을 위한 전도성 10B 박막 개발)

  • In the field of neutron detections, $^3He$ gas, the so-called "the gold standard," is the most widely used material for neutron detections because of its high efficiency in neutron capturing. However, from variable causes since early 2009, $^3He$ is being depleted, which has maintained an upward pressure on its cost. For this reason, the demands for $^3He$ replacements are rising sharply. Research into neutron converting materials, which has not been used well due to a neutron detection efficiency lower than the efficiency of $^3He$, although it can be chosen for use in a neutron detector, has been highlighted again. $^{10}B$, which is one of the $^3He$ replacements, such as $BF_3$, $^6Li$, $^{10}B$, $Gd_2O_2S$, is being researched by various detector development groups owing to a number of advantages such as easy gamma-ray discrimination, non-toxicity, low cost, etc. One of the possible techniques for the detection is an indirect neutron detection method measuring secondary radiation generated by interactions between neutrons and $^{10}B$. Because of the mean free path of alpha particle from interactions that are very short in a solid material, the thickness of $^{10}B$ should be thin. Therefore, to increase the neutron detection efficiency, it is important to make a $^{10}B$ thin film. In this study, we fabricated a $^{10}B$ thin film that is about 60 um in thickness for neutron detection using well-known technology for the manufacturing of a thin electrode for use in lithium ion batteries. In addition, by performing simple physical tests on the conductivity, dispersion, adhesion, and flexibility, we confirmed that the physical characteristics of the fabricated $^{10}B$ thin film are good. Using the fabricated $^{10}B$ thin film, we made a proportional counter for neutron monitoring and measured the neutron pulse height spectrum at a neutron facility at KAERI. Furthermore, we calculated using the Monte Carlo simulation the change of neutron detection efficiency according to the number of thin film layers. In conclusion, we suggest a fabrication method of a $^{10}B$ thin film using the technology used in making a thin electrode of lithium ion batteries and made the $^{10}B$ thin film for neutron detection using suggested method.
