Time-Based MDA Architecture Modeling for Safety-Critical Systems (안전필수 시스템을 위한 시간기반 MDA 아키텍처 모델링)

  • In order to minimize the damage from system failures, systems over various fields are requested to contain the safety-critical features. In this paper, we deliver the considerable issues, especially, in the cyber physical systems that is recently used as a safety-critical system, as well as we propose the model driven architecture based on time as its the important factor. Based on meta-modeling approach, we introduce the time-based architecture which is associated with deadline, transition state, and threshold, and also we work out a design for this by using model driven architecture. We propose a realizable safety-critical architecture by means of showing failure handling components with safety transaction model from the meta-model. In the detailed models and the example, we design a basic safety processing state, a multiple safety processing state, and a compound safety processing state for completing the safety-critical system architecture.

A dual-link CC-NUMA System Tolerant to the Multiprogramming Environment (다중 프로그램 환경에 적합한 이중 연결 CC-NUMA 시스템)

  • Under the multiprogrammed situation, the performance of multiprocessor system is affected by the process allocation policy of the operating systems. The lowest communication cost can be achieved when the related processes positioned to the adjacent processors. While the effective allocation is quite difficult to the real situation, and the processing of the allocation policy consumes some computation time. The dual-ring CC-NUMA systems exhibit a quite performance difference according to the process a1location policy due to a lot of unbalanced memory transactions on the interconnection networks. In this paper, I propose a load balanced dual-link CC-NUMA system that does not requires the processes allocation policy. By the program-driven simulation results. the proposed system shows no remarkable difference according to the allocation policy while the dual-ring systems shows 10% performance improvement by the process allocation. In addition, the proposed system outperforms the dual~ring systems about 1.5 times.

Performance Analysis of Optical CDMA System with Cross-Layer Concept (계층간 교차 개념을 적용한 광 부호분할 다중접속 시스템의 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, the network performance of a turbo coded optical code division multiple access (CDMA) system with cross-layer, which is between physical and network layers, concept is analyzed and simulated. We consider physical and MAC layers in a cross-layer concept. An intensity-modulated/direct-detection (IM/DD) optical system employing pulse position modulation (PPM) is considered. In order to increase the system performance, turbo codes composed of parallel concatenated convolutional codes (PCCCs) is utilized. The network performance is evaluated in terms of bit error probability (BEP). From the simulation results, it is demonstrated that turbo coding offers considerable coding gain with reasonable encoding and decoding complexity. Also, it is confirmed that the performance of such an optical CDMA network can be substantially improved by increasing e interleaver length and e number of iterations in e decoding process. The results of this paper can be applied to implement the indoor optical wireless LANs.

The Measurement of Flight Data of Golfball with High-Speed Multi-Exposure Image (고속 다중 노출 영상을 이용한 골프공의 비행 요소 측정)

  • Recently, while 3D sports game increases, the research that it recognizes the operation of the real user actively progresses. Most of all, the research about the golf is active. In this paper, the camera acquiring in a high-speed multi-exposure image measures the flight data of the golf ball through the image processing. While photographing, the high-speed camera, using this system, exposes an image at regular intervals. And line scan camera checks whether the golf ball passed or not. After the location information of the calculated golf ball calculates a speed and a direction by using the physical formula, it applies the golf simulation. After, this system is possible the measurement of the physical element of the spherical object.

  • A software defined storage (SDS) is being deployed in cloud environment to allow multiple users to virtualize physical servers, but a solution for optimizing space efficiency with limited physical resources is needed. In the conventional data deduplication system, it is difficult to deduplicate redundant data uploaded to distributed storages. In this paper, we propose a distributed deduplication method using similarity-based clustering and multi-layer bloom filter. Rabin hash is applied to determine the degree of similarity between virtual machine servers and cluster similar virtual machines. Therefore, it improves the performance compared to deduplication efficiency for individual storage nodes. In addition, a multi-layer bloom filter incorporated into the deduplication process to shorten processing time by reducing the number of the false positives. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves the deduplication ratio by 9% compared to deduplication method using IP address based clusters without any difference in processing time.

An Efficient SLC Transition Method for Improving Defect Rate and Longer Lifetime on Flash Memory (플래시 메모리 상에서 불량률 개선 및 수명 연장을 위한 효율적인 단일 비트 셀 전환 기법)

  • SSD (solid state disk), which is flash memory-based storage device, has the advantages of high density and fast data processing. Therefore, it is being utilized as a storage device for high-capacity data storage systems that manage rapidly increasing big data. However, flash memory, a storage media, has a physical limitation that when the write/erase operation is repeated more than a certain number of times, the cells are worn out and can no longer be used. In this paper, we propose a method for converting defective multi-bit cells into single-bit cells to reduce the defect rate of flash memory and extend its lifetime. The proposed idea distinguishes the defects and treatment methods of multi-bit cells and single-bit cells, which have different physical characteristics but are treated as the same defect, and converts the expected defective multi-bit cells into single-bit cells to improve the defect rate and extend the overall lifetime. Finally, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed idea by measuring the increased lifetime of SSD through simulations.

  • With the rapid advance of internet service and the corresponding migration of service environment from the text-based one to WWW (World Wide Web) environment, the number of internet users is growing rapidly due to its easy usage. Accordingly, usage of internet as services for sending electronic mails to the other patry over the network is becoming increasingly prevalent. Web-based electronic mailing system is comprised of a server and a client The former provides the users with e-mail accounts and services, while the latter serves as a user interface. In other words, it enales those public users who dos not own e-mail accounts on the existing mail server to have an access to hte mailing service through the web. In this paper, we designed a effective web-based electronic mailing system which is based on the internet explorer and linux operating system, which overcomes limitations of the existing e-mail systes and this facilitates the development of a stable e-mail system by being able to avoiding the low system performance due to the bursty characteristics of e-mail messages and the increasing number of users.

탄소나노튜브 나노유체의 파울링 현상에 따른 열적 특성에 대한 연구

  • 열전달 시스템에서 임계 열유속 발생 시 시스템의 물리적 손상을 야기하기 때문에 비등 열전달에서 임계 열유속은 열전달 시스템의 한계 또는 안전성을 나타낸다. 따라서 열전달 시스템의 안정성을 위해서는 임계 열유속 향상이 필수적이다. 최근에는 나노유체를 열전달 시스템에 적용할 경우 임계 열유속이 증가한다고 보고되었다. 하지만 나노유체는 원전 및 각종 열전달 시스템에 적용 시 나노입자가 열전달 표면에 침착되는 파울링 현상을 발생시킬 수 있으며, 이 때문에 시스템의 열효율이 크게 감소할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 열전달 시스템에 나노유체를 적용했을 때, 나노유체의 침착현상이 시스템에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 그 결과 유속과 코팅시간이 증가할수록 산화처리된 다중벽 탄소나노튜브 나노유체의 임계 열유속이 크게 증가하고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 하지만 나노입자 침착정도와 유속이 증가할수록 비등 열전달 표면과 유체의 포화온도의 차이인 과열도가 상당히 크게 증가함을 알 수 있었으며, 열전달 계수는 순수 물의 0 m/s의 비등 열전달 계수와 비교하면 감소하는 것을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, we propose a new sorting algorithm for ATM switch with a shared buffer which has a sequencer architecture with single queue. The proposed switch performs a sorting procedure of ATM cell based on the output port number of ATM cell with hardware implementation. The proposed architecture has a single buffer physically but logically it has function of multi-queue which is designed at most to control the conflicts in output port. In the future, this architecture will take various applications for routing switch and has flexibility for the extension of system structure. therefore, this structure is expected on good structure in effective transmission.

  • In this paper, we investigated performance for 5.8GHz Dedicated Short Range Communication(DSRC) packet communication system which will be applied to domestic Intelligent Transportation System(ITS) services and analyzed modulation technique and interference cancellation method to improve performance in physical layer. We presented the most suitable DSRC uplink protocol to apply to multiple access protocol for DSRC system. Finally, we presented channel model to estimate performance between Roadside Unit(RSU) and Onborad Unit(OBE), and showed their validity through the result of numerical analysis.
